Rayquaza gave off a strange growling-like sound that Aldo figured was him laughing before opening his mouth wide and releasing a loud roar at the Lapras. As it continued to roar, it built up a blast of energy in it's mouth that he eventually fired at his opponent.
[RESULT: 1] (Lapras flinches)
Seeing that the attack made his opponent flinch back, Rayquaza decided to take the opening with another Shadow Claw.

Lapras did indeed flinch, but he smacked his flippers into the water angrily once he recooperated. Hah, that big lizard thought he could get a hit in and score big, did he? Wrong! Snorting, he swam around in a few circles, giving Aquafina some time to think of something.
"Show him a thing or two with an Ice Shard, Lapras!" she called, growling to herself. Lapras was all too eager to fire off the icy blow towards Rayquaza.

The Rayquaza tried to dodge the opposing Lapras' attack, but still ended up getting hit anyway. Furiously flying at Lapras, he opened his mouth wide and licked the opponent angrily.
[RESULT: 5] (Lapras paralyzed)

Sweat drops appeared on the prehestoric pokemon's face as he was licked, shuddering at the thought of being bathed in dragon drool. Seemed the attack was thorough enough to paralyze him, and instead of raging, Aquafina calmed herself and looked towards her pokemon with a determined stare.
"Relax, Lapras. Focus. Try to concentrate and use Water Pulse" she asked him, waiting patiently for the creature to comprehend and follow through. The water type sighed and floated in the lake for a moment before glaring at Rayquaza, attempting the attack.

Rayquaza looked down at his opponent in shock as he was attacked. His own attack, and more importantly apparently the effects from it, had no effect on Lapras. Hoping to hold the opponent off for more time, he opened his mouth wide again and tried for a Shadow Scream again.
[RESULT: 3]
Seeing that the attack went over better than his others, Rayquaza decided to try for an Iron Tail this time, finally knocking out the opposing Lapras and ending the long battle.

Aquafina squealed in rage before withdrawing her poor pokemon back into his ball. "You did awesomely, Lapras. You deserve a rest." After a long sigh, the woman shook her head and smiled at Aldo. "Great battle. You also deserve something" she began, fishing around for a few things.
"I present to you the Wave Badge and your choice of these TMs" she announced, handing them over to the trainer.

"Thanks, I suppose," Aldo said, returning his Rayquaza to it's Pokeball as he took his first badge from Aquafina. Taking a brief moment to decide between the two TMs, he eventually decided on Water Pulse before heading back to the Pokemon center.
