Type advantage, type advantage, type advantage. Ugh. Why did trainers these days rely on types to win! Aquafina was so not impressed. So she sighed and waved her hand at her chinchou.
"Are you really going to let him beat you just because he's a ground type? I taught you better than that! Flail!"

"Alright Marshtomp, try Ice Ball," Aldo called to his Pokemon, who clumsily nodded back at him. Unfortunately, his condition finally set in and he fell to the ground in a heap.

Finally. Chinchou seemed to breath out a sigh of relief as her confusion took hold, her body relaxing just a bit. Not that she was happy to hurt the other pokemon, but she really didn't want to be replaced! So she did a little skip of happiness and nodded as her trainer called out "Flail" again.
[RESULT: 3] +1 Flail ability, -2 Growl
Okay, so maybe she wasn't safe just yet.... Eep.

Aldo winced a bit, both from the attack from Chinchou and Marshtomp's own injury prior. It wasn't serious, but this battle could very easily end badly for them if Marshtomp didn't snap out of his state soon. "Okay, try for Tackle," Aldo called, hoping that the simple act of ramming something wouldn't lead to Marshtomp hurting himself. Luckily, Marshtomp managed to attack without problem, though the attack itself was pathetic.

Well, it could have been worse. Chinchou was a bit wobbly, but she shook it off and stood her ground. Flail was getting her absolutely nowhere, and Aquafina could see that. But at least the Marshtomp seemed to be in no better position than she was. "Let's try bubble, Chinchou!"
[RESULT: 6] -2 Growl
If not for that dratted growl, it would have been a decent attack indeed! Aquafina was satisfied for the moment.

Owie. Chinchou winced as she saw the bigger pokemon hurt itself thanks to her confusion. Still, she couldn't help but feel a little bit proud of herself for the effort. For her part, Aquafina was pleased at the turn of events, for now. "Well, since that worked so well. Bubble again!"

"Marshtomp! Mud-Shot!" Aldo called, deciding to fall back on what had worked for him before. Hopefully, it would work now as Marshtomp got ready to attack. Before he did, he finally managed to re-steady himself and get over his confusion and waved back at his trainer cheerfully.

Uh-oh. Oh dear oh dear. Chinchou fretted for several seconds as the marshtomp snapped himself out of his confusion. Well, at least it had benefited her some, but oh she'd wished it had lasted a bit longer. Oh dear.
"Come on chinchou, do bubble one more time for me girly!"

Chinchou let out a sigh of relief as the Marshtomp went down. At least that particular trial was over.

"Marshtomp, return," Aldo said with a sigh as he returned his Pokemon to it's pokeball. "Alright Herdier. You're u-" he started before the dog Pokemon tackled him excitably and began licking his face energetically. "Not me! Them!" Aldo called angrily, pointing at Chinchou. In a flash, Herdier leaped at the opposing Pokemon with her jaw wide open for a Bite.

Well, that was an enthusiastic little dog, wasn't it? Chinchou flinched back a bit at the attack, but not enough that she wasn't ready to make one off her own. "Confuse ray, now!" Aquafina snapped.

The chinchou blinked a few times. That wasn't her doing! But who was she to look a gift horsea in the mouth, eh? Glancing back at Aquafina, the little one nodded a bit as she was directed to produce another bubble attack.

Seeing that Chinchou flinched back from her attack, Herdier took the chance to attack with Tackle.
