Aquafina couldn't help but sigh as she recalled the chinchou. This battle was dragging longer than most, and it was starting to tire her. Still, the little water creature had done well, so she murmured a few soft praises to it before pulling out the last of her battle pokemon. "This may be my last, but don't take that to mean he's easy! You'll see that my lapras has some pretty amazing abilities!"
With that, she tossed the lapras out onto the field, and grinned. "We're just getting started. Lapras, ice shard!"
Now that was the way to make an entrance! Excellent!
Herdier: 20/27 Lapras: 34/34
[[Note that this lapras has Shell Armour ability, and any attacks of 8, 9, or 10 will do no damage.]]
The lapras lazed about for a moment, giving a soft chuckle as he watched the herdier tumble on herself. It wasn't hard to do in a gym that was rocking with the waves, and he'd seen it before. That confusion probably didn't help either.
"Lapras, ice shard again!"
Aquafina grinned. There was a reason this lapras was her signature pokemon, after all.
The lapras had to blink for a moment. That little herdier could be dangerous when she put her mind to it, couldn't she? Still, he didn't like being flinched! His cheeks puffed out in irritations and he slapped a flipper against the water in irritation. Get on with it, Aquafina!
"Fine fine! Ice shard!"
He really didn't like being attacked very well, did he? Poor herdier would have been snapped out of her confusion... if she hadn't feinted first.
"...Herdier return," Aldo said with a sigh, turning to Riolu. "Alright, you feel up to fighting again?" he asked the Pokemon, who nodded his head vigorously. As if to prove his point, Riolu leaped at Lapras and tried attacking with Thunder Punch.
Aquafina rocked back on her heels, smiling contently. Even if she did loose this battle in the end, it wouldn't be for a lack of trying. She and her lapras had certainly made a nice little come back. That riolu, though, was not so well off, it seemed, as he missed his attack.
"Let's try a regular ol' water gun this time."
Perhaps not the best attack in the world, but it was enough, ne?
With a sigh, Aldo returned Riolu to his Pokeball and looked down at the last one he was carrying. He still had no idea what this thing was, but right now it was his only hope left. "Here goes nothing," he muttered, tossing the pokeball out and releasing the strangely colored Rayquaza. Wasting no time after it's arrival, it pulled one claw back and slashed out at Lapras with Shadow Claw.

Lapras quickly submerged it's vulnerable parts underwater while the Rayquaza's attack scratched it's shell. Pulling back up, Lapras smirked at the pokemon while Aquafina gave a low whistle.
"Interesting pokemon you've got there. Too bad it won't be around for long. Water Pulse!" She commanded. Lapras' eyes glowed and he opened his mouth, a light blue ball of energy forming. With all his strength he threw the ball towards the Rayquaza, hoping he'd make a hit.
The Rayquaza was temporarily startled by the attack from Lapras, but quickly recovered from the attack and began floating about cheerfully around Lapras, going faster and faster until it built up a Twister around the opposing Pokemon.

Lapras was less than impressed by the attack and eagerly awaited his trainer's command to put this pitiful excuse for a dragon in it's place.
"Ice Shard!" She commanded. Lapras smiled, that's what he was talking about! He opened his mouth as a ball of ice formed and he threw his head forward, tossing the ice ball which shattered and turned into little spears that headed right for the rayquaza.
