Now getting really angry, Zorua attacked Lotad with Extrasensory.

"Alright, come on back Elekid," Haylie said, returning the fainted Pokemon and tossing out her last one.

[Alan Nurmi]

"Use smog, Inferno" Alan said as he pointed at the Whismur. The Houndour shot out the fumes from his mouth, all aimed at the weird Pokemon.

[RESULT: 0]

The fumes seemed to dissapate before they even reached the Whismur, leaving it unscathed, and the dog Pokemon let out an irritated cry.

The Lotad tried to gain back some momentum and used razor leaf at her trainer's command.

[RESULT: 0]

The leaves didn't even scratch the Zorua at all as they couldn't get through its fur. Lotad slumped down but it wasn't out. She just had to hope for that the fox Pokemon didn't hit her.

[Amy]

Grinning happily at getting out of the smoke okay, Whismur slammed herself into Inferno.

Jumping out of the way of the oncoming leaves, Zorua lashed out with fury swipes.

[RESULT: 8]

As his Lotad fainted, Zach returned her to her Pokeball and sent out his final Pokemon.

Alan pulled out Inferno's pokeball and called him back. There was no point in having him continue to fight. Now it was Hope's turn. She hadn't battled yet in a trainer battle and so that this would be a good experience for her.

"Your turn now, Hope. Do your best" Alan said warmly as he sent out Hope from her pokeball. Once, she was fully out of the pokeball she looked at her opponent. She knew what to do.

Seeing her new opponent, Whishmur proudly attacked with Astonish.

Almost as soon as the pokeball released Tyrogue, Zorua attacked him with Extrasensory.

Alan knew that Hope could take that attack quite well. He wasn't worried. And there was only one course of action to take here.

"Use Water Pulse" he told Hope quickly.

Hope shot out of her mouth a watery ring aimed at her opponent. Her attack connected swiftly with her opponent, causing the Whismur to become confused, and Hope looked back towards Alan. She seemed to be smiling.

"Don't take that lying down, Tyrogue" Zach said defiantly. "Teach that Zorua a lesson or two. Use Hi-Jump Kick!"

The Tyrogue jumped up high in the air and then fell towards the Zorua with a leg stretched out towards the fox Pokemon. He was going to kick that opponent.

[RESULT: 9] + 1

Tyrogue crashed down on top of the Zorua. He jumped away once he saw that the Zorua had fainted.

[Amy]

"You'll be okay Whismur! Try another Extrasensory!" Haylie called to her Pokemon. Nodding dizzily, Whismur decided to try it out again.

[RESULT: 9]

"It's okay Zorua," Amy said, returning Zorua to his pokeball before letting Natu out again. "Be safe, okay?" she told the flying type.

Hope couldn't attack as that last one hurt her a lot. She had to stay still and let the attack's effects wear off. Alan saw that the Pokemon had gotten lucky. He would still be able to win this.

The Tyrogue prepared himself for this new opponent, seeing that it was both a psychic-type and a flying-type, and so he wouldn't let his guard down.

"That's it Whismur! Keep at it just like that!" Haylie called as Whismur nodded and attacked with Pound.

[RESULT: 0]

Seeing her opponent watching her, Natu took the chance and attacked with Extrasensory.

Alan smiled as this was his chance to turn things around.

"Hope. Use Headbutt" he told his Pokemon.

She pulled herself forward towards the little Pokemon and then rammed her head forward.

[RESULT: 7]

Her head connected with the smaller Pokemon's body. She grinned seeing that her attack had a major effect on the opponent.

The Tyrogue held strong despite being hit by a strong attack. It wouldn't be last much more. Without his trainer's command, he tried to ram his entire body into his opponent. And he succeeded pushing the little bird back.

[Amy]

Trying her best to recover from the attack, Natu attacked with Extrasensory again. Seeing that Tyrogue had fainted, Amy ran out and grabbed Natu defensively. "Good job baby. You okay?" she asked her Pokemon, who simply stared back at her trainer before falling asleep.

Struck by the attack, Whismur flinched back, unable to do anything.

Whismur: 2/15 *Confused*

[Alan Nurmi]

"Finish it off with another water pulse, Hope" Alan said.

Another ring of water was shot out of Hope's mouth and aimed straight for the Whismur.

[RESULT: 4]

Whismur: 0/15 *Fainted*

The Whismur fainted as she was hit by the attack.

Alan smiled as Hope had won the fight. He knelt down as Hope came over to him.

"Did a wonderful job, Hope" he told her as he petted her head. "That's why you're my number one Pokemon."

He returned her to her pokeball and then he looked over towards Amy.

"Might as well head back to the Pokemon Center and heal up" Alan said calmly.

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," Amy said, returning Natu to her Pokeball before running back along the path towards Gustella.

[Alan Nurmi]

Alan looked back at the two trainers that they had beaten before walking off after Amy. He was in no hurry or rather he was but he took his time with a rather brisk walking pace. They weren't too far away from Gustella and well he felt no need to run. Though, he eventually did break out into a run after Amy to make sure that he wasn't too far behind her. He cared little for anything else here for now. And he was probably ready to face the gym leader or maybe not. He was still unsure about his chances. He was on his way back to Gustella.
