Kicking Dust and Taking Names.

Alan snapped his fingers as he watched the battle. So, his opponent had little to no strategy. But he was going to go with what he had for now. Throw the opponent off. He knew that Mirai would be able to do this. The Emolga let loose another burst of electricity at the bird Pokemon. She cried out with joy as her attack shocked the bird even more. Her trainer had to be proud of her. Alan watched stone-faced. Mirai had this one in the bag but she had to prove herself.

OOC: Chatot is a normal/flying type and Mirai used thundershock (aka that would account for a type advantage (+1) (if you weren't paying attention)).

The Oddish wasn't going to go down that easily. The weird hair guy, Zach, was aching to fight. "Use acid, pronto" He ordered. The Oddish tried to but she flinched, the last attack hurt a lot, and she just couldn't attack back.

[Amy]

Seeing that Oddish was unable to fight back for the moment, Natu took her chance and leaped forward, biting down on one of the leaves sticking out of her opponent's head.

"Come on Chatot! Show him an Air Cutter!" Haylie called as Chatot began to attack again. Unfortunately, the electric shocks he'd received caused him to freeze up.

“End it” he stated simply to Mirai. Mirai used the same attack as before as she swooped down towards her opponent, releasing the electricity. Alan saw his Pokemon's attack connect, shocking the bird, and causing it to faint. That was his victory. And just as good with the current result.

He brushed his hair back and waited for the next Pokemon to be called up. He was lucky that the Chatot had been paralyzed.

"Come on, don't let yourself go down that easily. Try and use acid this time, Oddish!" the male trainer told his Pokemon quickly.

Oddish didn't flinch this time as she had been hit by an attack that was much less than before but it still hurt. She spit out some acid straight at her opponent. Her attack connected and sizzled a bit before calming down. That acid attack was particularly weak.

"Aw man, not good. Return Chatot," Haylie instructed, returning her Pokemon and reaching for her next Pokeball. "Alright, your turn Elekid! Go out and wow 'em!"

"Natu!" Amy called as her Pokemon was hit, though she quickly recovered and tried to bite her opponent again.

Seeing that his Pokemon had fainted, Zach returned her to her Pokeball and tossed out his next one.

Alan stared at the electric type that his opponent sent out. At least, Mirai was protected from a type-advantage. Or maybe not. He just had to hope that this opponent's Pokemon didn't have any super-effective moves. He would just have to risk it.

"Use Astonish, Mirai" he said coolly.
[RESULT: 2]

Mirai shot forward straight for the Elekid and tried to scare him with a slap. But she was untrained with that move and didn't know how to do it correctly yet. She could only do a tiny bit of damage. She wasn't all that scary.

"Alright then Elekid! Start us off with Ice Punch!" Haylie called, Elekid giving a quick nod before jumping forward and striking at Mirai.

Alan kept his calm composure as he saw his Pokemon get hit by that ice punch attack. Mirai was shivering just from that attack and she took a great deal of damage. But if he did switch out what Pokemon could he choose? No, he was going to keep Mirai in. It may be cruel but she had to face up to this new threat.

"I want you to use the same attack as before" he said calmly.

She didn't do much more than what she had before. Alan knew he would have to switch her out by the next turn. Inferno would be up next or possibly that oddly colored Eevee.

The guy grinned as he saw that the attack didn't work. He looked at his Lotad.

"Go and use Astonish, Lotad" he commanded.

The Lotad shot forward and tried to do a sudden surprise attack with her body.

[RESULT: 9] + 1

The Lotad struck the psychic bird upside the head rather quickly, surprising it. She was rather good at this.

"Come on, keep at it Elekid! Give 'em another!" Haylie called, excited for the battle as Elekid leaped forward again.

"Natu!" Amy called out as her Pokemon was hit, though Natu didn't show any reaction to the hit beyond not moving.

Alan cringed at the site of Mirai shivering from that last attack. He pulled out her pokeball and called her back in and then placing it by his side. He didn’t want her to get hurt any longer. He pulled out his next pokeball and looked at it. This was Inferno’s pokeball. He released Inferno out onto the battlefield.

The guy looked rather intent on winning as he had already caused your Pokemon to flinch. He had a chance to get another blow in. He called for the same attack. His Lotad responded by hitting the Natu with its leafy top suddenly.

Her attack once again connected with the Natu. She had this one in the bag if she kept making the Pokemon too surprised to attack.

[Amy]

Frowning a bit at the change in Pokemon, Haylie turned to Elekid with a nod. "Alright pal, change of plan. Go all out with Low Kick!" she said as Elekid prepared to attack.

Seeing her Pokemon getting beat up, Amy decided to return Natu to her pokeball and sent Zorua out again instead.

“This changes little in my plans” Alan said calmly. “Since you’re going to be pulling out your tricks. Let me show you mine. Inferno use smog.”

Inferno let out a howl before breathing out the darkened smog towards his opponent.

[RESULT: 5]

The smog buffeted the electric-type Pokemon but nothing much else happened. Alan stared at the smog for a moment but it wasn't nearly potent enough to harm the Pokemon other than hurting it some. His Houndour was still a fearsome opponent to be had.

"Use Razor Leaf on that newcomer, Lotad" the guy said.

The Lotad responded at once by releasing aa bunch of razor-sharp leaves and aimed then straight at the dark fox.

The leaves went off to the side and got stuck in the trees on either side of the path. The guy sighed as he shook his head. His Lotad was thrown off a bit by having an opponent like this one.

"Elekid! Don't stop now, we can still win this!" Haylie called to her Pokemon. Nodding, Elekid leaped out of the fog and kicked at Inferno.

Seeing the leaves pass by him, Zorua turned to his opponent with a smirk before lashing out with fury swipes.

The Houndour didn’t seem to feel much of anything from the little electric Pokemon’s attack. “Try and end this, Inferno. Another attack on the double” Alan stated sternly as he snapped his fingers together. Inferno breathed out the poisonous fumes out once again at his opponent. The fumes covered the opponent but weren't that effective.

"Try that Razor Leaf once more, Lotad" The guy said to his Pokemon.

The Lotad unleashed his attack straight at the Zorua and this time it struck dead-on. Each leaf cutting into her opponent but overall didn't do very much.

Fighting off the fumes irritably, Elekid attacked once again with Low Kick.

Inferno only growled after being hit so hard by that attack. He tested his leg and without much of a word from his trainer attacked the Elekid with another smog attack. This was personal now. Alan could only smile at this. If anything then this was just training to get them to work on their own. Especially, if he could master this sort of training then he would be hard to figure out.

The smog covered the Elekid and the fumes stayed there for a bit before dispersing, revealing a knocked-out electric Pokemon. The Houndour, seeing that it had won, howled.

"Good job, Inferno" Alan said joyfully.

The Lotad responded quickly with another barrage of razor-sharp leaves aimed in the Zorua’s general direction. She wasn’t going to go down that easily.

The leaves struck the Zorua hard, cutting in more places, and the Lotad was smiling at this.
