As the girls walked out of the Breeding Center with Lesa's new egg, Celeste snuggled her egg closer and closer to herself, excited about what could be inside it more than ever. Screecher the Fearow flew happily ahead while his new friends talked about their eggs. "Oh look at us! We're like a club! An Egg-sclusive club!" Celeste said, earning another groan from everyone in earshot. Soon they stopped as the red-ribboned Fearow landed, pointing to a field where many trainers were battling with their pokemon. The battles were not that fantastic, as all the participants were still just starting out, but they still looked like they were having fun. The girls waved goodbye to Screecher as he flew back to his home, most likely to help Trevor with his chores. Celeste turned to Lesa and grinned, pushing her onto the field. "Who thinks they could take on my B.A. Breeder friend? Bring it on!" She taunted, turning to Lesa. "You get the first match. I wanna see what's in your egg ASAP!" She quipped as a school-boy came forward. "My Abra can beat anyone! Let's go Abra!" He said throwing a pokeball. The yellow cat that emerged looked far more awake than the one Sawyer and Celeste encountered early in their journey. Gender: Female Level: 8 Ability: Synchronise Moves: Fire Punch, Psywave. Lesa moaned and groaned along with the rest and Celeste's jokes, but it couldn't detract from the high she was on after having passed her first test as a breeder. She was proud of herself for her ability to identify the eggs, and that seemed to have astonished Trevor. What a great start! And she'd even learned some new things, and made a new friend in the fearow that was leading them to the training grounds. When they finally arrived, she dropped another kiss on his beak and waved good bye with a call of thanks before turning to survey everyone around them.
Quite a little party going on in this training field, there was. And, of course, 'egg-cited' Celeste had boasted and volunteered her into a battle, and the challenge was quickly taken up by a boy with an abra. He claimed that his pokemon couldn't be beaten, and Lesa had to hide his snort. Rather cheeky for a beginning trainer. After all, she'd had a good lesson on just how tough pokemon could be.
Still, though... She looked down at her egg, then up at the boy, and lastly around her little traveling party. She'd already been volunteered, might as well go through with it. So she sighed, and turned to Comet, who was sitting on the ground looking rather tired. Lots of excitement for a newly hatched baby, she supposed. Walking over, she knelt down next to the suicune. "Go ahead and rest, little Comet," she whispered to him, gently petting his nose. "I'm going to leave my egg and my bag here with you. Take good care of them, okay?" The water dog yipped his agreement, curling around both while Lesa walked back to the boy.
"Alright then. Let's see what you've got, kiddo. It's time to play, Kale!" she called, tossing his ball up in the air. A few seconds later, the cyndaquil stood in front of her, his flames blazing with excitement.
"I'll give you the honor of going first."

The schoolboy didn't much pay attention to the Suicune behind her, probably thinking it was just the Suicune that stopped by every now and again. When Lesa sent out her Cyndaquil the kid snorted out loud.
"Peice of cake. Go Abra, use Psywave!" He commanded confidently.
[RESULT: 0]
Unfortunately his bark was worse than his bite, for Abra's attack was aimed in the opposite direction, knocking an innocent Caterpie into a tree.
"SORRY! MY BAD!" The sheepish trainer yelled.
Abra: 21/21 Kale: 27/27

Lesa clucked her tongue at the boy's arrogance, and couldn't help a slightly satisfied smirk as his attack went wildly askew. That's what he got for being so dang cocky. Well, let's see. This was Kale's first fight. "Alright, Kale. Let's see what you've got. Tackle!"
[RESULT: 4]
Lesa was well pleased with this first attack. At least Kale had hit the right target. Hah! Kale: 27/27 Abra: 18/21

Abra was knocked onto her back and she flailed her limbs around before getting back up. The schoolboy growled and clenched his fist, displeased with the results.
"Grr, no fair! Abra, Psywave again!" He commanded. Abra obediently tuned her mind for the attack, trying to aim at Kale this time.
[RESULT: 8]
And what great aim it was this time. The trainer laughed haughtily as Kale went flying from the powerful attack.
"Hahaha told you! You're mine lady!" He sneered.
Kale: 19/27 Abra: 17/21

Really, this kid was starting to get on her nerves. One well aimed attack and he thought he was a good trainer. The thought made her snort with disbelief. She had faced down an entei and pokemon killers, and this little brat thought he was the world's best just because of one attack? Kale seemed to bristle at the boy's attitude as well, his flames growing stronger.
"Try again, Kale, with another tackle." Her voice was calm and controlled, no way was she going to let a little kid see how annoyed he made her.
[RESULT: 6] Kale: 19/27 Abra: 11/21

And again Abra got knocked on its rump. The schoolboy stomped his feet on the ground in frustration.
Grr, Abra, Fire Punch!" He yelled. Abra's claws were suddenly ablaze and the Abra started to stand to make the attack connect.
[RESULT: 3] Not Very Effective -1
Abra stumbled in her attempt to stand and only a small flame licked the fire type.

Lesa couldn't hold back the small laugh that escaped her at the fire attack his abra launched. "A fire attack against a fire type? Don't you know anything about pokemon, kid?" she asked him, shaking her head as Kale barely flinched at the minor attack. He hadn't even bothered to try to dodge the thing, but it still made only the faintest of impressions on him.
"You know what to do, Kale," Lesa murmured quietly.
[RESULT: 9] Kale: 17/27 Abra: 2/21

Kale's attack landed a critical hit on Abra, and the psychic pokemon whimpered as she struggled to sit up. The schoolboy was still determined and hunched over, glaring at his abra.
"Come on Abra get up! Get up get up get up! Psywave!" He demanded. The abra, weak from the battle, tried her best to obey and took aim at Kale.
[RESULT: 1]
Even though she tried, Abra was still feeling the recoil of the battle, and she was only able to make a small shockwave of psychic energy that crawled to Kale.
Kale: 16/27 Abra: 2/21

The girl was beginning to feel sorry for the poor abra. Didn't he know that sometimes it was just better to let the battle go, rather than hurt his pokemon more? It sadened her to see him push the little pokemon so hard when she obviously was in bad need of a rest.
"Come on, Kale. Let's get this finished. I don't want to see that little abra hurting any more than she already is."
The cyndaquil nodded, running forward for what he hoped was one last attack.

The last attack from Cyndaquil was indeed the last move needed to finish the battle. Abra was knocked back for the last time this battle and she lay at her trainer's feet, unconscious. The schoolboy started sniffling and bent down to pick up his abra, the psychic cat hanging limply in his arms. "My *sniff* A *sniff* bra. MOOOOMMMMMMMMMYYYYY!!!!" He bawled, running away from the field without another word. Celeste sweatdropped in the direction he ran and scratched the back of her head awkwardly. "That. Was Weird. Uhhhh." She mumbled looking for another opponent. She saw a pair of twins playing with their pokemon, a Natu and a Bulbasaur. Celeste looked at Lesa with a wry smile and tapped her shoulder. "Let's play with them! Hey you two1 Will you have a battle with me and my friend?" She asked. The twins smiled at each other and skipped over to the girls. "Ready when you are!" Said the little girl with her Natu. "This will be fun!" The boy with his Bulbasaur added. Lesa was more than a little annoyed at the boy who was so cocky just a moment ago. What a brat. He had no respect for his pokemon. She definitely felt sorry for the little abra. Not that she had time to think about it, because within a few seconds, Celeste had located another challenge for them. So she turned to look at the twins, and nodded in approval. At least these guys didn't seem the obnoxious sort.
For a moment, she simply smiled and shook her head at her new friend's enthusiasm. Then she turned to Kale. "You up for another battle?" The cyndaquil yipped and blazed his flames.
"Alright then, kiddies. Let's get this party started. Kale! Tackle that bulbasaur!"

Bulbasaur yelped as he got knocked backward by Kale's Tackle, crashing into his trainer and knocking him down. The young boy rubbed his head tenderly before leaning over his Bulbasaur, rubbing the tender plant on it's back.
"Are you ok Bulbasaur?" He asked. Bulbasaur stood up and shook himself off, looking at his trainer happily.
"Bulba!" He said, making his trainer smile. The boy's eyes lit up as he got into a battle-stance.
"Use your own tackle Bulbasaur!" He commanded.
[RESULT: Miss]
Meanwhile Celeste carefully thought about the pokemon she wanted to use and grinned. She did wanna see how this would turn out. She threw a pokeball into the air and out came her tiny little Ralts.
"Alright Reso, you can do it! Echoed Voice on Natu!" She commanded. Reso took in a deep breath and prepared his attack, wanting to obey his trainer.
[RESULT: 6]
"Raaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllttttttttttsssssssss!!!!" He screamed, making the Natu flail in pain. Soon his voice gave out and Reso stopped to breathe, allowing Natu to shake off the attack. His trainer ran up and petted the Natu, smiling and facing her opponent.
"Peck it Natu!" She commanded as the Little bird ran over to do just that.
[RESULT: 7]
Natu's attack hit dead on as Reso raised his arms to cover his head. Natu beaks hurt!

The breeder in training winced as the little bulbasaur went flying. She hadn't meant to actually hurt the thing, despite this being a battle. Though it seemed to bounce back well enough, and it's trainer was actually concerned with the health of his companion. Good! Good that not all young trainers were like that brat boy they had battled from before.
Still, the little grass type seemed to be rather out of it, for the tackle it sent their way was miss aimed, and Kale was able to easily jump out of the way.
"You'll be a good trainer, I think," she said absently to the boy, before directing her cyndaquil to preform another tackle attack, this time on the natu who was pestering Celeste's raltz.
[RESULT: 4] Kale: 27/27 Reso: 13/20 Bulbasaur: 14/22 Natu: 10/20

Natu was caught off-guard by Kale's attack, earning a small whimper from the bird. Reso whispered a thanks to Kale, it's voice still hurt from it's attack, and Celeste gritted her teeth. That attack was a strain on her ralts, but it was the only one he had that could help right now.
"Use Echoed Voice again Reso! Though don't drag it out too long ok?" She asked. Reso nodded and sucked a breath in, preparing to scream again.
[RESULT: 8]
And it came out loud and fierce, blowing back the weak Natu with it's power. Natu struggled to get up and glared at its opponents. The little girl who commanded it knew there was not much it could do now, she would have to rely on her brother.
"Natu, use everything you got and Leer at the Cyndaquil!" She commanded. Natu growled and turned it's gaze solely onto Kale, concentrating on breaking his defense.
[RESULT: 7]
*Add 2 to all damage to kale*
His attack having missed, Bulbasaur looked to see Kale and Reso double-teaming Natu. Well if that's how things were gonna be, then he'll play too!
"Bulbasaur use Vine whip on the Ralts!" His trainer commanded. Two vines shot out and struck towards Reso, hoping for a connection. Kale pushed Reso out of the way just as the vines reached them, taking the hit instead of the small psychic pokemon.
[RESULT: 3] +2 Not very effective -1
Celeste looked over at Lesa with a grin and gave her a thumbs up.
"Thanks so much. I owe ya." She said as Reso stood up once more.
Kale: 23/27 Reso: 13/20 Bulbasaur: 14/22 Natu: 2/20
