Will looked down at his Little Deerling that walked beside him. "Well this is the first major step my friend. Do you think the team is ready?"
Libra looked at the door and then back at Will and gave a happy encouraging cry.
Will sighed and gave his Pokemon a friendly pat. "Well we'll see soon." He opened the door to the gym. "Hello anyone here? I would like to challenge the leader."

The door soon opened and from it emerged a tall woman with a scruffy-looking man behind her. She smiled as she gestured towards the battlefield and began to walk towards it.
"Sure thing hun. My name is Wendy, and I`m the gym leader of this here town." She said, getting on one side of the field with a Honchkrow hovering next to it's trainer.

"Wonderful. I ready when You are." He detached a Poke ball from his belt and released the Pokemon inside. "Trooper prepare yourself."
"Pawniard." She huffed like Will's statement we ridicules and placed her blade like hands in a fighting position.

Wendy stretched out as a fearow approached, a man jumping off of its back and landing on the sidelines. With a nod, he pulled out two flags and raised them high.
"The battle between Gym Leader Wendy and the Challenger Will is about to begin! The battle will be a 3 on 3 match, but only the challenger may make substitutions. Begin when ready!" He said as Wendy whistled, her first pokemon flying onto the field.
"Farfetch'd!" It cried as wendy smiled.
"Ready when you are." She said, crossing her arms.

"Alright darling lets start this off with Furry Cutter." Will spoke just loud enough for his Pokemon to hear him. Trooper ran forward and started to slash at the bird.

Farfetch'd was taken off-guard by the attack, and just barely managed to avoid falling over. With a glare, the Farfetch'd clutched it's leek tightly as Wendy smirked.
"Nice hit! Farfetch'd, cut!" She commanded as Farfetch'd ran forward, waving it's leek.
[RESULT: 8] Not very effective -1

Will nodded to the Learder. "We thank you. Lets see if my girl can land a good Scratch Attack."
Trooper rolled her eyes at her trainers politeness but attacked non the less. his bird was going down!

Farfetch'd wasn't going to let Trooper make a second critical hit. The bird dodged as much of the attack as he could, though he still got very damaged by the attack. Quickly recovering, Farfetch'd swung his leek over and slashed at the steel type in another Cut attack without Wendy's command. The gym leader merely nodded as she watched her brave bird try to make his move.
[RESULT: 1] Not very effective, -1, no damage

Trooper manged to roll out of the way so the Farfetch'd attack barely hit and jumped up for another Scratch.
Will didn't say a word. His girl knew what she was doing without his assistance.

Wendy cringed as her Farfetch'd struggled to get up. He didn't have much left in him, and she knew it. Still, they had to give it everything they had.
"Up into the sky Farfetch'd, aerial ace!" She commanded as Farfetch'd threw himself up, flipping once and divebombing towards the Pawniard.
[RESULT: 8] Not very effective, -1

"Pawn!" she shouted back. She was going to teach this Bird a lesson. No one got the best of her! It was going to be all her.

By some miracle Farfetch'd was able to dodge the attack as he rose higher and higher. Wendy smirked as she looked up at her pokemon.
"Aerial Ace once more!" She commanded, and Farfetch'd obeyed in the form of another divebomb.

Wendy chuckled as she recalled her fallen pokemon, thanking the pokeball and replacing it on her belt. She looked at Will with approving eyes as she took out another pokeball, tossing it into the air.
"Tranquil, let's go hun!" She said as the bird emerged, looking ready for a fight.
