"No!" Amy cried out, trying to grab for her bag as it fell, almost getting a hold of the strap before it fell to the ground. As she watched the egg roll out, she remembered the case it was in with a sigh of relief. As the egg hatched, she took out her Pokedex and pointed it at the baby as it looked around. "Natu, the Tiny Bird Pokemon. It picks food from cactus plants, deftly avoiding buds and spines. It seems to skip about to move," the robotic voice announced as Natu began wailing unhappily seeing that there was nobody around. "Poor thing," Amy said, going over to Natu quickly and holding her delicately.
"Na?" Mama? Natu asked curiously, tilting her head to the side curiously before remembering that she had heard this human's voice before caring for her not too long ago.
"It's alright. Everything's going to be alright," Amy said comfortingly, petting the small bird on her head. "Zorua, Torchic, come look! We have a new member of the family!" she said, setting Natu back on the ground.
"Torchic!" She's cute! Torchic said cheerfully.
"Zor," She's too small, Zorua said, tilting his head at Natu, who immediately copied the movement like a mirror.
"Co-Oh wait," she said, taking her bag and sorting through it, being sure not to cut herself on any of the broken glass from the case until she pulled out a cherish ball. "There we go," Amy said, tapping Natu with it, securing it as her new home and releasing her almost immediately after. "Come on. Let's go show you to the others and than we can eat," she said, Natu chirping happily as she hopped along after her new family.
