Aldo was heading along the first route, Riolu walking beside him timidly. "This road should take us to the next town. It's the only one out of Dust Town," Aldo said to himself.
"Rio?" Are we gonna get there soon? Riolu asked.
"We'll need more partners if we're going to challenge any gyms," Aldo said, not answering Riolu's question as a chill came over him. "Must be the weather," he said with a yawn.

Skye left the lab shortly after the other two did. She made her way to a path that the Professor said lead to the next town. She didn't like being the last of the three to get started, but what was there to do? She was looking forward to catching her first Pokemon at any rate.
It wasn't long before she heard a voice. In her eagerness, she must not have noticed that she was actually running down the path and had caught up to one of the boys in the lab with her.
She looked at his Pokemon, deciding grudgingly that it did look stronger than hers, and decided she'd better not challenge him. But she did walk up to him. "Hey, you were in the lab with me," she said. There was safety in numbers. Perhaps he'd let her travel with him. Especially since she hadn't paid attention on the way up here and didn't know where she was going.

Eager to get away from the lab Natalie ran as fast as she could. Which was fairly fast. She had no idea where she was going and didn't really care. She had not one but two Pokemon and while they were not her precious Venomoth maybe just maybe they could form a close bond.
Sewaddle clung to her shoulder. It seemed her trainer could really move if she wanted to. This was fun! But what if she tripped and hurt herself?
Natalie slowed down as she heard voices ahead of her. She didn't want to draw attention to herself. Were they dangerous? They seemed to be teen's like herself but still teens could get nasty. She reached behind her for the staff ready to defend herself should it become necessary. She let out a steadying breath and faced the stranger.

Aldo watched as the girl from the lab caught up with him and watched her uninterested. "Yes, I was. Now, what do you want?" he asked, not wasting any more time than he had to. Riolu on the other hand listened to the other girl approaching and turned to face her, tilting his head to the side curiously.

Skye immediately became defensive, having been so rudely greeted by the boy. "Well certainly nothing from you!" she said. "I was actually just wondering if I was heading the right way towards the next town, but I can make my own way." She picked up her little Pokemon and walked away, nose in the air, before she ran straight into a tree. "Ouch," she said, rubbing her nose while her Pokemon sat and stared blankly at the tree as if it had never seen one before.

These people are weird. Natalie thought as she approached them. did she even want to stay near them? But she needed to find out where a store was so she could pick up food. She was running low.
Natalie patted Sewaddle on the head and whispered. "We don't want any trouble So don't do anything that might result in a battle." Sewaddle nodded and climbed into Natalie's backpack.

Aldo smiled to himself as the girl got angry at him. He thought he'd be able to get a fight out of this, but instead she just turned and walked away. And right into a tree. "Clearly you can," Aldo said with a laugh. "For future reference, watch where you're going," he added before looking at Tynamo. "What's wrong with your Pokemon?"

Skye blushed, embarrassed by her clumsiness. She blushed even redder when he asked about her Pokemon. "Nothing is wrong with it!" she exclaimed, defending her Pokemon. "Why, its in the top percentile of all Tynamo! It's the strongest Pokemon there is!" she said, nodding to prove her point.
It was then that she noticed the two were not alone on the path. Another trainer was watching them and Skye jumped on the chance to change the subject off of her poor little strange Pokemon.

As the girl's eye's landed on her Natalie gripped her staff tighter. She brought it in front of her and leaned on it as if it were a cane watching the strangers every move, ready to lash out with her staff should they make a threatening move.
The girl had a strange fish like Pokemon in her arms. but Natalie knew from experience that that species of Pokemon shot off electricity. If it came to battling Trapinch would be her best bet. The Boy had a Riolu. A fighting Pokemon. Bug type Moves wouldn't be very effective. Tackle attack until Either Sawddle or Riolu then switch to Trapinch.
"Do you know how far the next town is?" Natalie asked deciding to get the question she needed answered then she would be on her way.

Skye looked at the girl for a bit, unwilling to admit that she didn't know how far the next town was. Skye wanted to know everything. "I suppose it depends on your definition of far," she said, being vague. Being vague always made one seem to know more than one actually did.
Tynamo looked at Skye blankly. It stared. And stared. And stared some more. Skye got goosebumps and eventually reached out and held the Pokemon facing away from her. What a creepy little thing.

Translation, the girl hadn't a clue. Natalie sighed and picked up her staff. Apparently she wasn't going to get anything from this girl. she looked at the boy waiting for him to answer.
Meanwhile Sewaddle peaked her head out of the bag looking around. These people didn't look dangerous. Natalie Looked back to her Pokemon and smiled at the bug offering her hand for Sewaddle to climb onto. "Such a pretty girl you are." Natalie praised becoming more intersected in her new Pokemon than the strangers while she waited for someone give her a real answer.

"Of course it is," Aldo said, noting the Tynamo's blank stare with a chuckle before turning to look at the new girl. He decided to watch as she tried to act like she knew the answer to the new girl's question and decided to intervene when she was done. "It's not too far off, at least to my knowledge. If you're heading that way, than it may be best for us to go together," Aldo suggested.

Natalie did not like this idea. She did not get along with People. Just Pokemon. People lie cheat and are altogether untrustworthy. Pokemon at least try to stay by your side. Venomoth stayed with her for five years. Though she was gone now that was a heck of a lot better than a human had ever tried to stay. Oh well he could ditch them at the next town.
Natalie shrugged, "If we are going the same way why no?" She placed her staff against the bag. Sewaddle reattached it with her string shot. "This way right?"
She turned to head down the road. Was it just her or was it getting darker?

Skye shrugged and followed the other two. The guy was a bit rude and the girl was really quiet. She wasn't sure about these two for traveling buddies, but like she thought when she first approached the boy, there was safety in numbers, and though she'd never ever admit it to anyone else, her Tynamo really didn't look like much ....
"Well if we'll be traveling together, we should at least know each others' names," she said, nodding wisely. "My name is Skye."

Natalie glanced back at the two. Why would she want their names? She had no need for them because they would just be parting paths as soon as they reached the next town. Still if she didn't give her name it might make them uncomfortable. and uncomfortable people were unpredictable. Unpredictable people were dangerous. "Natalie Stratos."
"Sewaddle!" the Bug Pokemon cried out as if nagging Natalie for not Introducing her.
Natalie rolled her eyes. "This girl her is my Sewaddle." She called out her second Pokemon that Bounced with excitement for finally being let out. "That there is my Trapinch."
