A Fresh Start and no Worries.

[Virgil]

OOC: Ok, not going to lie. My thread title is horrible and will probably be replaced when I think of something better, XD.

Virgil had gotten back to the Pokemon Center, got his Pokemon back, and returned a few to Pokeballs for the ones that he had them for. He had then traveled back out here with Tane for further training. It was still a nice day out and he still couldn't get over the excitement of racing around the lake. That was a fun race. He hoped that the other challenges might be just as fun but he wouldn't have to complete another test for a bit until he was further into his journey.

That race still sent jitters of excitement down his spine every now and then. That feeling of having the wind blow against his hair, racing along the water's surface, and well everything else. That was what a racer felt. He was totally absorbed in his own little fantasies as he walked along the path. He had one of the eggs in his backpack and the other in his arms, the newest one, and he currently had the scarf around one of his Pokemon. He just couldn't remember which one had done so due to his excitement.

[Tane Flight]

Tane noticed that Virgil was practically glowing with excitement since he came back from his trip to the Breeding Center. Something awesome must of gone on there to cause Virgil to have been this excited.

Dude, what happened other there? Must have been something pretty epic if you're this away from the world." Tane said hoping that him talking would bring Virgil back from his fantasy world, it was boring not being able to talk and if the guy is gone for good, Tane's gonna be pretty bored unless someone else decides They wouldn't mind joining a group with a a glowing zombified Breeder.

[Mikhail]

"Larvesta, wait--"

A male teen was suddenly shouting and running down the open path towards Tane and Virgil, flailing his arms like a madman.

"Watch out! Cover your faces before it's too late!"

Beside him, his Snubbull ran and acted as rampant as the trainer was, flailing his stubby arms while barking. If Virgil or Tane had the chance to look behind them, they'd probably notice a small, fiery speck floating closer and closer, the jets of flame shooting out from its horns to keep it propelled forward. The less distance that was between Larvesta and the guys, the more apparent it became that the dual-type was slightly... crazed. And picking up speed.

Seemed it was too late, though. Larvesta had squealed in delight and smacked clearly into the back of Virgil's head, clinging... lovingly? The bug was nuzzling his hair and cooing as he remained plastered, but thankfully Mik was right behind him, grabbing the Larvesta's sides in attempts to pull him off of the poor breeder's head.

"Uhm, I don't know what to say... he um... really likes you?" Mikhail stammered, panicking as he realized he couldn't pry Larvesta off.

[Virgil]

Virgil was startled out of his daydream when he felt something latching onto the back of his head. This brought him quickly back to the warm reality. He heard someone say something from behind him and the person attempting to pry whatever was on him off. He blinked once.

“What?” he asked surprised. “What likes me?” Virgil didn’t really know who he was responding to but it definitely wasn’t Tane. He knew Tane’s voice.

He reached back and felt something on the back of his head. He took a few seconds to formulate whatever was going on. He clearly wasn’t all the way back yet. Then it clicked. There indeed was something nuzzling his head. Wait, what. He turned his head slightly to look at Tane.

“Uh, am I dreaming this?” he said, rather confused as he pointed back at whatever was on his head. He already had his answer but still he wanted a different opinion on the matter. "I was in a race around the lake against the head of the breeding center.” He turned his head back slightly as he wanted to talk to whoever it was back there. “How long will this Pokemon stay latched on me?”

[Tane Flight]

Tane broke out in laughter as the Larvesta suddenly charged in and latched himself onto Virgil's head, it looked hilarious! Thankfully, the love attack from the new Pokemon was able to shake the breeder out of lala land and back into reality.

"J-Just latched himself a f-few seconds ago!" Tane struggled to answer pasted his laughter before suddenly pausing. "Did you say race?! Aw, lucky! I wish I was there for that! Bet it was fun and...Ohai.! Tane's attention suddenly went from Virgil to the new person. "This your's?" He asked pointing to the fluffy bug that was attached to Virgil's head.

[Mikhail]

"Unfortunately you aren't" Mik groaned, rubbing the back of his own head as he looked down in slight shame. Couldn't he ever control his pokemon? Well, he had to be honest... he couldn't complain much about that. Snubbull listened to him. Said dog-fairy... thing... was glaring up at Larvesta accusingly, eyes more narrowed than usual as he tapped his paw. It was odd how much this pokemon mimicked his feelings... but now wasn't the time to dwell on that. For a moment or two longer he kept trying to wiggle the bug from Virgil's head, but found that none of his efforts were proving successful. Sighing, the trainer stepped back and moved, allowing the other guys to at least see who they were talking to as he explained.

"He'll stay there as long as... honestly, I have no idea." He offered a sheepish grin before shoving his hands in his pockets. "Until he finds interest in something else, I guess. But I'd watch out - he does that... a lot." Mikhail nodded at Tane and tapped the button on Larvesta's pokeball, hoping the sudden red light would withdraw the dual-type into the sphere. However, the pokemon rejected it and as a show of rebellion shot streams of fire from the horns along his body, daring Mikhail to try it again. "Of course, HE would be the one to somehow have that magical power to refuse being withdrawn into a pokeball..."

[Virgil]

Virgil was about to say something about that then he wasn’t too irritated by a fire bug being on his head. He turned all the way around to look at the one talking to him and Tane. So, this was the one. This person looked to be a male teenager by the looks of it. And of course, he had felt a great deal heat coming off the Larvesta before he had turned around. What did someone do to make it do that? Now, he was a bit worried since it was so close to his hair. And hair was flammable. He reached back to touch the Larvesta again, petting it a little. He wasn’t going to do anything hasty like pulling it off because that might cause his hands to become burned. No, he would try to stay calm. Von was by his side, just looking up at the bug by his trainer’s head, and not saying a word. The Tailow seemed to be just staring at the bug from its perch on his owner’s right shoulder. That thing had taken its perch, that sneaky little jerk. He wanted to peck it but where would be the fun in that. He wouldn’t step in.

The male Cyndaquil finally looked over towards the new person.

“This is the point where people introduce each other. Isn’t it? I guess these two aren’t going to do so first, lazy jerks” Von said happily, not meaning to insult anyone. “I’m Von. I guess you can say that I’m their third companion. I don’t battle and that’s good enough for me. I like watching though but I haven’t really felt a need to do battle against other Pokemon. Now, the bug-head guy with the prideful featherbag on his shoulder is Virgil.

“Yeah. I’m Virgil like that little fire Pokemon said. ” Virgil replied coolly as he held out a hand. “I believe my companion can introduce himself. Then yeah…”

He paused. He didn’t really know what else to say. Introductions were an obvious thing to say and do. There was nothing much else to say really.

[Tane Flight]

"Wow, that's some fireball, better watch out or your gonna get yourself burned. That would be hilarious!" Tane laughed, it wasn't the idea of his friend getting burned but how it would look if Virgil lost a big batch of hair from it that was amusing to the racer. Tane turned to the new person.

"Anyway, I'm Tane, I'm a racer." He didn't have any of his Pokemon out so it seemed a little pointless to take them out just to introduce them. Tane decided he would introduce those Pokemon later.

"Well, now you know who we are, how about you?"

[Mikhail]

Getting burned? Oh! Oh. Mikhail noticed the look of alarm on Virgil's face after Larvesta was done with his fire show, wondering why he didn't think of the possible danger as well. Maybe he was too used to the bug's antics by now? Either way, the teen sort of flapped his hands, trying to calm Virgil down.

"Oh, ahaha... don't worry, he won't burn you. He usually only does that to prove a point. At least, he's never burned someone before..." the trainer trailed off, his eyes gaining a slight haze as he ventured into his thoughts. Honestly, he hadn't really let the pokemon around others to test and see if he would accidentally burn anyone, since after he split from his last group, he wanted to remain solo and confine his weird team to himself in fear of something happening - something like what was going on in front of him already. His pokemon were making him a freak; an outcast. Mikhail rubbed a temple and shook his head, trying to avoid those thoughts. The task became much easier when Virgil's Cyndaquil started to talk.

The Lavender Town native simply stared down at the fire-type, his eye twitching as he listened. It... was talking. Talking. Pokemon couldn't do that, could they? He blinked several times and swallowed nervously, shoving his hands in his pockets. When would he see a day where he only saw normal pokemon, eh? When Arceus, when! Doing his best to shove his caution away, he flashed Tane and Virgil a wobbly grin.

"I-I'm Mikhail. Trainer. Lavender Town" he said, relieved when Larvesta cooed from Virgil's petting. Maybe he'd be getting down soon, but not right now. He stared at Virgil's outstretched hand, not sure what to do. Snubbull arched a brow and wiggled a paw towards Virgil, then shook it up and down. Oh! Oops. Yeah, he totally knew that. He quickly shook Virgil's hand and then looked down the path.

"Well, uh... follow the yellow brick road, eh?"

[Virgil]

Virgil was reminded about what he forgot to say about himself. At least, what he didn’t cover that Von had already said. That cheeky little bugger.

“Well, that’s an interesting path to choose. I chose a path that was far less competitive and that was becoming a breeder” he said casually, as he continued to pet the fire bug on his head. “Lavender Town. I’m guessing that you’re from the Kanto region. I heard that’s a pretty nice region to stay in. Not that I know much about it. I don’t know about Tane but I’m from Sandstra town here in the Varaia region.”

Virgil smiled as Mikhail shook his hand. Now, all that was left was to do some training out here. Or whatever else that was supposed to be done out here. Taillow was still wary of the Larvesta but didn’t do anything and stayed still. That bird didn't want to get burned by moving too suddenly.

Virgil's other Pokemon were alongside him except for those that were inside the handy device that he had with him.

[Tane Flight]

“Wow, dude your from Lavender Town? How cool! That’s pretty far from here, I’m from Thundera Town!” Tane said excitedly.

As the three talked, some creatures stirred from the commotion. Three interested Pokémon went to see what was going on, spotting the humans and their Pokémon. The leader of the group, a Buizel, shouted out to his team to attack. He dashed out of the bushes along with a Spearow and a Zigzagoon who were anxious to see their opponent’s strength

[Mikhail]

Sandstra and Thundera. This was both good and bad news for Mikhail. Either the possibility of getting lost would go down since these two were native to the region, or they'd be more apt to notice the fact that he knew nothing about... well, anything beyond the Kanto region itself, including pokemon species. He managed to keep up a rather normal expression, smiling here and there as they talked, however, deep down he was getting more and more nervous. At least neither of them were trainers - he wouldn't have to worry about competing with either of them in the Pokemon League. Wait... what? Since when was he even aiming to become a Champion? Exactly, he wasn't. Sometimes he amazed himself with how easily he could be confused.

Said trainer grimaced a bit as they talked more about Kanto, hoping they wouldn't ask him about the town in particular... and they didn't. Whew, good. "Well, it's certainly different from Varaia" he exclaimed, alarmed when Larvesta randomly popped off of Virgil's head and perched on his own, bursts of fire shooting from his horns as he spotted the three new pokemon. The small bug uttered a battle cry before flying up, up and away, eventually spiraling downward towards the trio. Oh great. He couldn't even wait for commands now?

"Uhhhh, Larvesta! Use Zen Headbutt on um... um..." Mikhail stammered, trying to remember the pokemon's name. Thankfully he was able to whip out his pokedex fast enough to scan Zigzagoon and obtain its information before Larvesta got too close. "Zigzagoon!"

[Virgil]

Virgil glanced over towards the Buizel. Mikhail had chosen to fight the little raccoon-like Pokemon. That left him with two choices and well, he would just choose the Buizel. It was good training either way that he looked at it. He looked over towards Rona.

"Go get it, Rona! Let's start off with a leer attack" he stated excitedly. He was taking his chances.

Rona tried her best to frighten her opponent with the scariest look that she could muster.

[RESULT: 7]

Rona's leering gaze appeared to work on her male opponent who took a step back and dropped his guard. Virgil smiled as he stared at the battle. This would be good for any number of reasons. he wished that he could befriend that Buizel but he had no room in his party.

The Zigzagoon flinched as the attack collided with him. He wasn't doing too well after that attack but he stayed strong. He lost his chance to strike as he was interrupted from attacking his opponent.

[Tane Flight]

Tane smirked as he saw the trio of Pokémon appeared. Mikhail had begun to battle the Zigzagoon while Virgil had chosen the Buizel, this left him with the Spearow. “Aw ya, this should be fun!” Tane shouted out excitedly and grabbed a Pokeball and released the creature inside, a small and orange bird. “Come on out, Zea, let’s show her what we got!”

The Torchic hissed at the other bird, showing her power, she stood between her trainer and her enemy. “Use Flame Burst!”

[RESULT: 5]

Zea shot out a huge burst of fire at the Spearow, burning a couple of the Spearow's feathers in the process.

Buizel frowned as he lost some of his defense, that’s no fun, but it didn’t bring him down. Buizel’s frown went back to a smirk, it just meant that he get a better challenge now! Buizel attacked with his Fury Cutter.

[RESULT: 4]

It wasn't the strongest of his attacks, but he knew he'd only get better as he continued his war with his opponent. He a knight shall defeat the evil dragon that stands between him and the love of his life, victory.

[Mikhail]

Mikhail tried to keep his nervous tics as unnoticeable as possible as the three of them began to battle, shoving his hands in his pockets for what felt like the millionth time so his finger-twiddling would be eliminated. Larvesta on the other hand shouted out heartily each time his new friends landed an attack and did so again when he realized he'd made the Zigzagoon flinch, flailing his many buggy arms in joy.

"Okay Larvesta" Mikhail called, trying to get his pokemon's attention. Snubbull helped by barking, which thankfully did the trick, as Mik could see the dual-type had paused his antics for a second or two. "Ember!"

The small creature obeyed, glaring at Zigzagoon defiantly before shooting a stream of fire at him.

[RESULT: 3]

Meanwhile, the Spearow peeped and thrashed about as she was caught on fire, doing her best to put out the embers on her now-charred feathers. Huffing, the brown bird scratched in the dirt before rushing at the Torchic in a Fury Attack.
