Over the Nonexistent Rainbow

[Spirit Hope]

Spirit and Lucas walked through the new route, the tall grass flowed with the calm wind that blew through the new land. Off in the distance a river could herd mixing a peaceful tune with the cries of the native Pokemon. The sky shined brightly as if welcoming the two trainers to the watery plains. Drinyo and Xylia were currently both outside of their Pokeballs at the moment, which did not suit Drinyo well. He did not like Xylia being out as well, however she refused to go back in her Pokeball for this route, This is her homeland after all. Off in the distance some Cottonee could be seen floating around with the breeze, Xylia was enjoying the wind as well, and thankfully wasn't bugging Drinyo all that much at the moment. Drinyo didn't trust her in the slightest and Xylia knew this, she usually would mess with him just because of his paranoia. This caused a lot of trouble most of time, which is why when both Pokemon are not fighting, its best to savor the moment.

"I-its a nice day, don't you think? Much better then when we were on Route 801." Spirit said to the group, trying to start a conversation. "Ya, I had to get my fluff all dirty just for you ninnies." Xylia declared proudly. "No one called for your help, witch." Drinyo pointed out annoyed at her pride. So much for the peaceful day. Spirit picked Drinyo up to keep him away from Xylia before the argument got worst. "Please don't argue you two. We are very thankful for your help Xylia." Xylia smirked and eyed Drinyo with a victory look. She always won.

[Lucas Heart]

Lucas was trialing a bit, Bolt and Thunder were out but he kept Ruby stashed in the pokeball he didn't want her getting involved in the other pokemon's arguments. She had a very unlikely enjoyment of Xylia. "Glad I brought my good pole. It will be fun to fish when we find a big enough body of water." Lucas stated after a long silence he was thinking of his battles with the gym leader it had been so close Lucas knew he now needed to strengthen his pokemon and get new ones to compliment his current team.

Bolt was roaming around the group not going to far but never really close either his gears spinning the entire time as he searched the area for anything shiny. Thunder of the other hand was hopping next to Lucas like a obedient dog. It was happy that it was a nice day but didn't really want to get her wool all muddy from the wetland area. "SO this is primarily water pokemon if I remember correctly isn't it?" Lucas asked as he scanned the area as well.

[Spirit Hope]

Xylia’s attention went from Drinyo and Spirit to Lucas. “Well, this area is known for having water types; however it also has plenty of other types of Pokemon like flying, grass, normal and poison. There are also the occasional Nincada wandering around. They’re a bit odd to me though, bleh. Creepy bugs I’d say.” Xylia said shaking her head a little. Anyway, there should be a good enough sized river nearby if you plan on aiming for some aquatic friends.

Spirit listened as Xylia continued to talk about the Pokemon in her home route. So this is where she was from originally. Spirit looked around at the peaceful wetland. It looked nice and peaceful. ‘I wonder what we might find here.’ She thought to herself. From the sounds of it, this route had quite the interesting variety, it will be interesting to see what they will find.

[Lucas Heart]

Lucas listened intently to the talking pokemon, it still blew his mind that Spirit had TWO of them but o well maybe one day he would get one. When the word Nincada came up Lucas's face perked up a bit he loved that bug pokemon but he heard they were not fond of being found in the wild.

"Well at any rate we need to get stronger to challenge Torrentia's gym leader. I don't think it will be hard for me but Wendy put up a good fight against my electric pokemon, so this one might be just as tough." Lucas muttered to the group.

[Aldo512]

"Excuse me you two. Would you mind being silent?" a voice called from the side of the road. It's owner, a boy dressed in strange robes glared across the road at a girl dressed similarly to him. As they stood there, a rock in the path began to raise into the air and swing through the air, going from one person to the next as the two of them shut their eyes in concentration. At the same time, both of them gave up on their concentrating and the rock fell to the ground again.

"I win!" the girl said cheerfully, seeing the rock closer to her friend then it was before. As if noticing the two new trainers for the first time, she turned to them with a curious tilt of the head. "Hey you two! How about we have a battle?" she called, already getting her Pokeballs prepared while her companion sighed as she did but prepared for a fight anyway.

[Spirit Hope]

Spirit was caught off guard at the sudden trainer battle, the two psychics who were having some sort of competition of rock moving had stopped, the female charged in ready for battle. Before Spirit could say anything Xylia jumped in towards to female psychic, prepared for the fight. "Heh! If its a battle you want, its a battle you'll get. You can stay back, Drinyo, wouldn't want to hurt yourself." Xylia laughed, leaving Drinyo fuming with annoyance and anger from the mocking Cottonee. Xylia imminently looked at the Gothita that Tania sent out

"Wow that think is UGLY, why would anyone want to have something like that? Well no matter, cause its good as gone!" Xylia continued her mocking joy as she attacked the Gothita with her Beat up attack.

[RESULT: Miss] +1 = Merp

Xylia attacked swiftly with her attack, prepared to do some powerful damage to the psychic...Thing, however it was apparent that Xylia did not have as much sense of a psychic type's abilities as a normal dark type Pokemon would have, Xylia was a grass type after all. The Gothita, with her psychic powers was easily able to dodge the attack because of this.

[Lucas Heart]

The two psychics were facinating able to move that stone with there mind "Awww man I wish I could do that." Lucas stated with a slight pout as the trainers came towards them. Spirit like normal charged forth first her pokemon always being entertaining. "Alright Ruby lets show them what a real psychic pokemon can do." He stated with a small smile the Ralts flashing out and glaring first at Lucas then at the blob in front of her.

"Lets use a shadow sneak." For once she nodded as her shadowed lurched fowards to attack the green ball of slime.

[RESULT: 3] +1

The attack dealt damage but not Ruby's usual in your face smash kind of damage. It was clear that this was not going to be the typical one sided battle. "Thats fine Ruby we are still better and you know it." Lucas stated with a smile.

The Gothita was not happy about being called ugly, not one bit. Her trainer was not happy at all. "Don't let them talk to you like that get in there with a dark pulse." the psychic stated but Gothita was already on the move with a pound it was going to beat some sense into the cottonee.

[RESULT: 3]

That attack was decent but she was not going to let the insult go and would deal more damage.

[Spirit Hope]

"Hey. Hey! You did NOT just attack me with that pittiful excuse for a dark type move, you hussy!" Xylia practicably yelled at the Gothita. Deciding that it would be better to use her own natural powers, Xylia began absorbing some of the Gothita's life.

[RESULT: 7]

This time, Xylia was able to deal a great amount of damage to the psychic type Pokemon as well as stealing some of the Pokemon's life energy in the process. "Ha! How do you like that!" Xylia cheered proudly.

The Solosis shook off the attack "Don't let that Ralts get you down, Solosis. Let give her a taste of her own metacine. Use Astonish!" Nicolas called out to his Pokemon whom attacked obidiantly.

[RESULT: 1] +1=2

Despite the attack being super effective, Ruby was able to endure the attack well and the attack ended in doing little damage.

[Lucas Heart]

The astonish stung a bit but did little to amount to real damage. She gave the little blob the look like, really that's all you got." Her shadow started to come to life again but she looked back to Lucas losing had caused her to want to be sure she was doing what was needed, however it was unlikely that would last. With a nod he told her it was ok and the shadow raced towards the pokemon.

[RESULT: 9] +1 (9 incase it changes)

The attack was so powerful it seemed to pull the very shadows of the green blob and its trainer to smash in on the pokemon. Ruby's eyes were sadistically happy with the super effective move.

The psychic was not happy with the second time his pokemon was offended and glared. "Alright baby use another pound and don't hold back." The little pokemon nodded and let loose one heck of a punch.

[RESULT: 8] T.T Sorry

The power behind the pound was enough to probably break normal stone. It had charged forward and slammed its small fist into the rude cottonee.

[Spirit Hope]

Xylia went back a little from the sharp, powerful punch. The attack left her someone dazed from the sheer force, she shook her head a little to try and pull herself together. Spirit noticed that the punch definatlly messed Xylia up. "Come on Xylia try attacking with another beat up!" She called out to her Pokemon, usually Spirit tries not to get in the way of Xylia's battles for the Proud and sassy cotton plant did what she wanted.

[RESULT: 2] +1= 3

Xylia was able to get enough sense back together to attack, however she was unable to get a good enough hit! Because of this, Xylia did not do a good enough damage and was left open for another painful attack from the ugly duckling.

The Solosis screeched in pain from the dark type attack, this was not turning out very good for him. "Don't give in yet, Solosis, lets use roll out!" Nicolas called out to his Pokemon

[RESULT: 1]

The attack did minimal to Ruby as the Solosis rolled into her, it would probably be better if the Solosis wasn't jello-y...

[Lucas Heart]

The rolling ball didn't do much damage to Ruby as she just glared down at it. The shadows sprung up all around her as she smiled wickedly before they all started to converge on the little green gel-atone pokemon.

[RESULT: 4] +1

The shadows collided into the creature and when the light finally broke through it was just laying there still as could be fainted. "Hmph" Ruby sounded as she folded her arms and walked away head held high. That was just what she needed after the gym battle. "Way to go Ruby." Lucas screamed.

The Gothita was on a roll, she had defended well against the counter strike now it was time to get in and take care of some buisness. "Alrighty little one use a Dark Pulse this time." He shouted with force.

[RESULT: 4]

The attack did slightly lower then moderate damage but it was enough for the little pokemon to be content with, it was not going down without a fight to this very rude pokemon.

[Spirit Hope]

Xylia was not doing well anymore, she was struggling with the Psychic Pokemon as it continued to attack again and again while she failed to get many good hits at all! Xylia tried again with another beat up

[RESULT: 0] +1=1

Again, like before, the attack did very little to the Gothita. It was obvious that something must of been wrong, Xylia was never this bad before, she was almost in the same boat as Drinyo when he made she made her first appearance.

The little gothita was feeling much better maybe even getting a huge head on her shoulders. She quickly rushed forward not even listening to her trainer as she went in for another pound.

[RESULT: 4]

The attack was the same as before, she couldn't seem to get another strong attack in and she could feel her body getting slower and weaker. Her small psychic body was not meant for such physical fights.

[Spirit Hope]

Drinyo narrowed his eyes at Xylia, she should not be this bad! Drinyo escaped from Spirit's arms, landing on the ground next to her. "Xylia what the heck are you doing! Your better then this! Stop being weak and get in the game!" He yelled over to Xylia, obviously not happy with how the battles odds were at. He knew her better than this. He knew she could do this.

"Xylia get up!"

These words made Xylia snap back to reality. Drinyo called her back, shaking her had a little Xylia looked at the Gothita and glared, smirking. "You want me to win that badly don't ya, Drinyo? Well Thanks for the support, bro. I think this ugly duckling has drawn the last straw. I'm rather pissed now. A dark presents could be seen around Xylia, almost like a dark aura, could a normal grass type have such dark power?

Xylia thought about her allies, the move beat up used the power of her team. She only thought about herself when in battle. Now it was time to show her power. She thought about Cora and Shiloh's powerful attacks, while shy they were strong. She thought about Kavi's quiet and stubborness, the strength of his nature in play. Then, she thought about her rival, her friend. Drinyo, a dark type like the move she was going to use. They had so many fights, he was strong, but doubted his power, and she knew this.

The darkness around her seemed to grow stronger, more powerful. "Attack now Xylia!" Drinyo called out to her. Xylia attacked at full speed, mauling the Gothita with all her power and strength of her friends.

[RESULT: 9] +1=10

The attack with super effective, a powerful attack that brought the Gothita down with that one attack. "Don't ever mess with me again, ugly. Or else I might not be as easy next time." Xylia said before going back to Spirit's side.

"Good job, Xylia."
"Now that was a dark type attack."

Yes, Xylia defiantly did good on that last attack, for now. Xylia was just gonna rest and let Spirit's next Pokemon take care of the battle.

"Aw man! Gothita!" Tania said sadly, returning her fainted Pokemon to it's pokeball and looking over at her opponent with a cheerful smile, her remaining two pokeballs orbiting around her head. "You were pretty good, but you're not gonna beat my next one! Go...whichever you are!" she called, one of the pokeballs flying out and releasing a Pokemon. For his own part, Nicolas just rolled his eyes at her theatrics and sent out his next Pokemon normally.
