Clarissa couldn't help but take a deep breath, seeing the legendary in front of her. Oh, she would love to catch it and bring it back for a culling. Still, she knew that her main goal was to beat it, and it's trainer, and get her egg back to the base. Thinking about the battle, she reviewed what she knew about the Pokémon in front of her. 'Dialga are part Dragon, part Steel type. Steel-types resist both Normal and Psychic-type attacks. So, nothing will be at full strength. Let's just try and get lucky, then,' she decided "All right then. Fuyu, start this off with a Tackle, now!" she called, pointing at the powerful Dialga that would be their opponent.
The small normal-type, knowing that this would be the best chance they had at putting them on an equal footing with their opponent, threw the full weight of his body into the attack, hoping it hit, and hit heavily. Luck was on his side, and his body slammed against the Dialga's side, hitting strong enough to cause some major damage. The pair were off to a good start. Only time would tell if their luck would hold out, though.

Though the hit was decent, Diaruga was able to stay on his feet, and he growled at the small fox pokemon. Diana grinned at her child-like tank and clenched her fist.
"DragonBreath!" She commanded. Diaruga roared as he fired the reddish-pink flames of DragonBreath at Fuyu.

Clarissa grinned, seeing that they, so far, had the upper hand in this battle. Hopefully, her attacks would remain strong. Still, she saw the egg was getting close to hatching. 'Just means this needs to end quickly, then,' she though, looking at the other trainer with cold, bloodthirsty eyes. "Tackle, again," came the order to Fuyu, who responded easily, knowing that her cold tone had absolutely nothing to do with him, and everything to do with their opponents. He moved quickly, throwing himself at the Dialga. However, while the attack him, both trainer and Pokémon could see the legendary's resistance to normal-types meant he got away with no damage. 'No! We need to turn this around! she thought. 'Still, if we have to, I'll cut the baby's throat, to keep it from being grabbed by them, if I must. I'd rather have it dead, than a potential threat in the future. I'm sure the bosses would agree,' she decided, adjusting the egg out of her pack, and the knife into her grip.

Diaruga didn't even flinch at Fuyu's attack, and Diana was determined to keep up the good fight.
"Iron Head!" Diana commanded. Diaruga's head glowed and he ran towards Fuyu with everything he had.

Clarissa looked over the area, before taking a deep breath. The egg was getting closer to hatching each second, and she had the feeling that, unless they were lucky, it would hatch before they finished this battle. "All right. Tackle, again!" she called, Fuyu charging at the Dialga in response. He had been lucky and had been able to brush aside the Dialga's charge, sustaining no damage, but neither was sure how much longer that luck would hold out. Sadly, their attack went wide, completely missing the Dialga in front of them.

Diaruga looked at the eevee with a confused expression before regaining his fierce determination. He roared as Diana gritted her teeth.
"DragonBreath!" She commanded. Diaruga threw his back back and took a breath to charge the attack, thrusting his maw forward to unleash it at the eevee.

Clarissa nearly snarled, realizing that her partner had been paralyzed when he froze, his movements halting, almost painful looking. She had a few options here, of course. They could continue fighting, and hope for the best. They could use one of her few items available to her, which she saw no point in doing, and would rather just fight through this. Or, they could give in. 'Never. I want to impress the teacher. Giving up would only make me look bad,' she thought, looking at the Dialga. "Try Tackle again Fuyu! Fight the paralysis, try to hit him where it hurts!"
Fuyu let out a soft "Vee!" as he carefully stood, before he pulled himself together in an attempt to attack once more. However, the young normal type was completely unable to move, a small amount of static drifting over his fur as he stood still, eyes glaring daggers at his opponent. "VEE!" he snarled, teeth bared angrily at his opponent.
[RESULT: 6]

Good, they'd survived another round of attacks. That meant they still might win this battle. "Tackle, again!"
Fuyu let out another cry of "Vee!", prepared to cause as much damage to his opponent as possible. This time he could move, and managed to hit the Dialga for a decent enough amount of damage.

Diaruga hissed at the attack but managed to recover with relative ease, though he was starting to pant slightly. Diana breathed slowly as she thought over her options, glancing up at Diaruga.
"DragonBreath! Since that seems to be the only thing working." She said. Diaruga roared and unleashed the pinkish-red flame, aiming at the eevee.

Both trainer and Pokémon hissed at the hit, but her partner shook it off well enough. "Switch over to Synchronoise, see if that works better!"
The small Eevee reacted quickly, gearing himself for the pulse wave-based attack. It worked, thankfully, slamming into the legendary heavily.

Diaruga's head spun a little bit, but he was determined to not let his trainer down.
"DragonBreath again!" Diana called. Diaruga attacked again, putting a bit more power into the flames.

Clarissa could see her partner getting weaker, ready to drop. She bit her lip, before calling out once more, "Tackle Fuyu!"
The small Eevee reacted quickly, preparing himself to attack the much larger Pokémon. However, the effects of paralysis took hold, keeping him from moving.

Diaruga took advantage of Fuyu's handicap and launched into an Iron Head without being asked.
"Diaruga! What the heck!?" Diana called as the giant blue lummox charged forward.
[RESULT: 1] +2 successful recoil move, -1 HP due to recoil.

Fuyu let out a snarl, and also reacted without orders, preparing himself once more for Tackle.
"Be careful," Clarissa murmured, willing to let her partner take the lead. She frowned, however, when the paralysis once more caused him to freeze, unable to do anything.
