Whoa! Now that was quite the attack. Chinchou wobbled back and plopped into the water, her breathing slowed as she tried to regain herself after having so much energy lost at once. "You can do it girl!" Aquafina said, cheering on her pokemon. Said dual type nodded and blinked, her eyes refocusing on her target after a few moments.
"Alright, no more messing around. Let's switch things up! Chinchou, Confuse Ray!" Ah, yes. Suddenly, the pokemon's antennae began to glow, and she bobbed up and down in the water to create a small current, the glows waving back and forth hypnotically as she chanted in quiet. "Chinchou.... Chinchou... Chinchou..."

The confuse ray did nothing to Duke. "Again with Absorb!" Lee commanded, trying to build Duke's health back up.
[RESULT: Miss] +1
But the attack went a little too high to hit the shorter Pokemon.

Hah, not this time! All Chinchou had to do was move her antennae to dodge that one, and as she looked to Aquafina, the woman nodded. "We're not giving up quite yet. Confuse Ray one more time." The Grovyle may have been resistant, but they would get to him sooner or later. Chinchou repeated her move, hoping for a better result.

Duke just couldn't shake this little Pokemon. This one was small but certainly packed a punch. "Use Absorb again, Duke!" Lee called out.

"You're doing great so far, Chinchou! Now, Flail again!" Aquafina commanded, watching in pride as the small pokemon took the brunt of Duke's attack and flailed herself at the Grovyle.

All that flailing did nothing. It was as if Duke didn't even feel it. "Absorb!" Lee called out. He had to restore as much of Duke's health as he could if there was another Pokemon on the way after this.

Then again, Duke's attack wasn't all that powerful either. Maybe he was running out of steam?

Good, good. At least neither of them were hitting - that gave her some more time to work with the situation. "We need to get a clear shot, and we can't do that right now. Use far-ranged attacks like Water Gun!" she advised, Chinchou following what she heard.

The water gun hit hard and Duke was looking worse for ware. All that health he gathered up had helped buffer from the attack but it was still quite a bit of damage. But the Chinchou looked even more worse for ware. "Absorb again! Finish it!" Lee called out, hoping Duke could do just that.
[RESULT: 2] +1
But it wasn't quite enough to finish it, since his Confusion delayed the attack.

"There's your chance, Chinchou!" Aquafina called, alerting her pokemon. "Flail again while he's distracted!" Chinchou mustered up a good deal of strength and hopped over to Duke, spinning around and hitting him with both her body and antennae this time, letting her fatigue help.

(OOC: I may be wrong on this, but judging how the last attacks work, this one should go through. The last 5 +1 I had after being confused hit after all.)

"No! Chinchou!" Aquafina cried, running out onto the edge of the field to pick up her pokemon, Floatzel flashing another red flag on her side as she did so. As she picked her up, she patted her head, Chinchou's antennae glowing faintly. "You packed a punch little guy. Good job" she praised, finally recalling her. When the woman looked back to Lee, her eyes were narrowed and cast in an anime flame of a thousand suns.
"Alright, you've managed to get this far, but this is only the beginning. Lapras! You're up!" From the bottom of the pool, a small rumble shook, ripples slowly forming on the surface of the water as a large shadow emerged. Waves collapsed in on themselves and splashed against the massive pokemon when he finally surfaced, his fins splashing back down in triumph. "Laaaaaaaaaapras!" Had... he been down there, lurking the whole time?
Aquafina said nothing, but flashed a semi-evil grin instead, waiting for Lee to decide what he was going to do. Lapras: 34/34 Duke: 8/28 |

A Lapras. It certainly didn't seem like a push over. Duke had taken some heavy damage and was confused. He had no choice now but to switch out. "Duke, return. Maverick, come back to battle." As Duke returned to the pokeball in Lee's left hand, Maverick left the pokeball in his right hand. "Pika!" he cried out. "Now, Thundershock", Lee called out.

"Don't take that from him, Lapras!" The pokemon huffed and ducked his head down, lashing it around along with his entire body as he kept himself from getting too awful hurt. "Laaaaa!" The pokemon was getting a bit angry now, it seemed. "Use Ice Shard! Take 'em down!" Suddenly, he pulled his head back and released row after row of icicles, more than ready to obey commands.

Apparently Lapras didn't recover very well from his attack and thus failed to dodge or block even more of the attack, shuddering as the electricity rolled over him. However, he still shook it off and felt his trainer's fury, launching himself through the water and towards Maverick. "Body Slam!" Aquafina commanded, hoping this attack followed through a little better.
