The Ducklett waddled along in the fire without a care for the world, flapping his wings and yawning as they singed from the flames. Hm... that did actually hurt a bit, he supposed. Time to put it out as stupidly as he could! Blinking several times, the pokemon arched his wings back and began to flap them wildly, actually causing the flames to grow a bit when he first started. It did put out the fire, albeit, very slowly... and he did no damage to Houndour. Why didn't he use Water Gun instead of Defog? Oh! That move! He must have forgotten~

Jace blinked in disbelief. This Ducklett seemed to have no clue about battling other pokemon. Well...Jace could only take advantage of that. "Ember!" he called out. Houndour went at it again.

Jace groaned in disbelief at the attack and facepalmed...yet again.

That Houndour... wasn't doing much of anything. Huh. The wild pokemon on the sidelines cheered, and Ducklett tilted his head. Er... well then. Perhaps he should try to really fight now. Slapping his feet on the ground to prepare himself, the bird strained super hard and finally fired off a Water Gun, panting after the act was done. Whew... it'd be a while before he could do that again.

Houndour doubled over backwards being hit with the water gun. He slowly stood up and shrugged it off, shaking his head and body. Droplets of water being flung as he did so. Jace commanded out another attack. "Ember!"
[RESULT: Miss]-1
Jace...facepalmed a third time. This was not happening.

Ducklett decided that this scene wasn't really his thing and turned to waddle away, obliviously missing the stream of fire Houndour shot towards him. In his place, the crowd of wild pokemon allowed a Cottonee to stand, deciding that his experience with fire types might give them an advantage in this 'war'. Cottonee huffed and fluffed himself in preparation for the battle, sticking his tongue out. Well?! What were they waiting for?

Jace watched as the Ducklett simply waddled away. That was the second pokemon that just decided he wasn't good enough to battle and it was working Jace up. When another one appeared in it's place, Jace gritted his teeth and called out another attack. "Fire Fang!"
[RESULT: 0]+1
Jace...was not liking how this was going at all. Apparently Houndour needed more training than he thought.

Hah, this was going to be a piece of cake. No wonder the other pokemon had walked away so willingly. Cottonee easily shook of Houndour and waggled his bum as he latched onto the canid, leeching some health through him via Absorb. Not the best attack type-wise, but hey. Any health restored was good health, and it seemed any insult to the boy and his dog gave them more injury than he could ask for.

"Fire off with Ember, Houndour" Jace commanded yet again. Houndour jumped back from his opponent and fired away.

Jace sighed and used a potion on Houndour.

Ah. The mutt was doing a little better now, and Cottonee decided he needed to step up his game. Frowning, he flailed his cottony arm things and felt himself tingle as he used Growth... but that must have been something else, because the attack failed. Instead he prepared himself to try and dodge any attacks Houndour would throw at him next.

Well, the last attack atleast did something to that pokemon. Jace would go for it again. "Ember again!" he called out and Houndour obliged.
[RESULT: 2]+1
Same result as last time, of course. Jace couldn't fuss at that. He DID just use the same attack twice in a row and got the same result. Not unexpected.

Tch. This fire business was ticking him off, and with an annoyed glare, Cottonee tried another Growth, hoping it would knock the two down a peg when he'd attack next time... so long as the attack worked. It did, much to his delight, and the pokemon rested easy. He doubted the Houndour would knock him out next turn.

Jace ordered out a new attack for Houndour. "Fire Fang!" he called out. Houndour went after the wild with flaming fangs.

Jace...was thinking about giving up at this point. The Fire Fang did worse than Ember. How was that even possible?

It was possible because this Cottonee was so elite, hadn't they figured it out by now? He'd been thrown out here from the masses because of his experience with fire types, duuuh. Snorting, he tried Absorb one more time, hoping he'd do more damage. At least he wasn't using Leech Seed or Stun Spore, eh?

Oh snap, the Cottonee thought. This was getting pretty daggone serious. Puffing up and doing all he could to put out the fire, he decided another Absorb was the best way to go.
