Time for some Training!

Yuki walked outside the Pokemon Center, all his Pokemon refreshed and ready for more! He stretched out and looked around at all the people in town. They looked like they could be solid battlers.

He decided to let Bruce out of his Pokeball. The Mienfoo also stretched out his arms, much like his trainer. The red and yellow Pokemon felt bad for being knocked out at the gym, but he knew he'd tried his best.

Con looked over at Yuki, who had come out just behind him from the Pokemon Center doors. The air was very fresh, which made Con feel a bit more relaxed as he stepped out. Crescendo was taking a fresh breath of air himself from Con’s shoulder, and the black haired teen smiled warmly at the bird, who cuddled against him. Con looked around now, much like Yuki trying to find a challenge.

He was considerably tired, but not tired enough for training. This would be good for both himself and Yuki, and all their Pokemon.

“See anyone Yuki?” He asked.

Yuki looked long and hard, spotting a young couple locked in a heated battle with another trainer. The two lovebirds were using a Machop and a Geodude? That didn't seem..normal? Anyway, Yuki watched the intense battle.

The Machop had the other trainer's Buneary on the very brink of fainting. The girl called out "Machop, Low Kick!" The battle was swiftly ended. Bruce observed the flawless execution of the Low Kick, tucking away the info for later.

Con looked on as a battle raged on in front of himself and Yuki. Finally, it ended and Con also took note of the fact these two victors seemed to be a young couple. A slight blush rose to his face as he thought about couples. What in the world was that like anyway. Trying to not trip over himself, and look like an idiot in front of these new people, he glanced over to Yuki, who also seemed to want a battle.

“Hey, that was a great battle, the two of you.” He said as he made his way over to them slowly. “If you’re up for it, my friend and I would like to challenge you.” Con explained. “I’m Con, and my friend here is Yuki.”

Yuki smiled and waved to the pair of trainers. The girl had short blonde hair, and was dressed rather ruggedly. "They must like to hike in their free time.. thought Yuki. It would explain the Machop and Geodude.

The guy and girl smiled looking to one another. "Should we?" The guy looked over at Yuki and saw the Float Badge glimmering on the strap of Yuki's bag. "He has the Float Badge already. Might be a good fight, Lulu."

The girl smiled and nodded. "Sure. We'll take you on. Just don't start crying if we whoop ya!" Yuki clenched his fist and stared the girl straight in the eye. "We're not pushovers, either!"

Con simply smiled politely at Lulu, letting a slight chuckle course through him. He pushed his hair back a bit, letting on a much calmer appearance rather than reprimanding her.

“I promise, we won’t cry. Crescendo? Care to battle this time?” Crescendo hopped right off Con’s shoulder, cooing and waiting for a command. Con waited for Yuki to make his moves, as well as his opponents.

(Geodude will have 28 HP. Machop will have 33. Levels 8 and 7.)

Yuki grinned and looked to Bruce. He leaped to the front, letting out a battle cry. "Mieeenfoooo!" Here I goooo! Yuki smiled proudly at his starter, confident in his abilities.

The white haired lad thought carefully about his first move. Best to start out by building his stats. "Bruce, Meditate!" The red and yellow Pokemon closed his eyes, focusing. The soft yellow light surrounded him..

[RESULT: Miss]

Then, the light flickered out. Dangit! Why wasn't he having much luck with that move? Oh Well.

Bruce: 26/26
Machop: 33/33
Geodude: 28/28

Con watched as Bruce missed completely, and sighed out. At least he was off to a small start. Con nodded assuringly at Yuki before turning to his other trusted partner.

“Cres, use Peck on Machop!” Crescendo hopped forwards, aiming straight for Machop.

[RESULT: 9]

The hit was solid as Crescendo drove his beak straight into his foes side.

“Use Low Kick on the Mienfoo Machop!” Lulu commanded as the Geodude was ordered a Rock Polish by Luke.

[RESULT: 4]

Machop landed the hit easily, dealing a fair amount of damage to Bruce.

[RESULT: 4]

Lastly came Geodude, raising it's own attack by one.

Bruce wobbled a little bit from the force of the Low Kick. Wow, that Machop was skilled. Yuki focused solely on the Geodude, however. "Bruce, Use Vital Throw on Geodude!"

The Mienfoo nodded in response, rushing at the Geodude. He readied himself for the slam..

[RESULT: 4]

WHAP! A good hit. The Geodude was thrown a ways, bouncing off the ground at least once. Yuki smiled at his Pokemon.

Geodude: 23/28

Con smiled as Yuki was readily trying to take down Geodude and called out to his own Pokemon.

“Alright, let’s use Peck again on Machop!” Crescendo bounded forwards again, aiming once again for an opening.
[RESULT: 7]
The hit landed without much flaw, leaving Machop trying to regain its balance. This bird was getting quite annoying.
“Alright, use Low kick again on Mienfoo Machop!”
[RESULT: 1]
The attack landed, but didn't do all that much damage...
“And Geodude, you use Tackle on Rufflet!”
[RESULT: 1]
Geodude collided with Crescendo, but this time around the flying type barley faltered.

Yuki looked to his friend with a grin. So far they were doing rather well! The white haired lad felt rather confident about this battle. It was going much smoother than his Gym Challenge.

He took a moment to let Bruce regather himself before asking him to attack again. "Use Vital Throw on Geodude again!" Bruce rushed the rock Pokemon, ready to throw him..

[RESULT: 8]

WHAM! A great hit! Bruce threw the Geodude really hard, and his Trainer was looking rather frustrated.

Con knew that if they didn’t finish this up soon, that the opponents might get the upper hand, so the older boy thought, placing his head against his palm and trying to figure out what he should do. Another peck attack would hopefully do the trick.

“Peck Cres!” Crescendo hobbled towards Machop, since he already knew this was his target.
[RESULT: 3]
It hit! not as good as what he wanted, but it would do.


“Alright Machop, Leer on that Rufflet!”
[RESULT: 8]
Crescendo found his defense lowered down quickly, by at least two stages!

“And you use Tackle on the Mienfoo Geodude!”
[RESULT: 4]

The attack hit but didn't do much due to the type disadvantage.

Yuki could tell that if this battle dragged on for too long, they'd be in trouble. The white haired trainer had used up all his Oran Berries in the gym..man.

He looked to Bruce and smiled at him. "Vital Throw, one more time!" Bruce rushed the Geodude, preparing to throw him a 3rd time..

[RESULT: 1]

Doink! Bruce could barely get a good hit in this time. Was another solid blow too much to ask for?

Con gingerly touched his palm to his forehead. What to do now? Carefully he pushed through some more locks of his hair and smiled at Crescendo.

“Alright, Peck!” Crescendo didn’t wait too long for his orders since he already knew it was coming, and was already on his way towards Machop.
[RESULT: 7]

the attack was a hit, but noit as effective as Con had hoped for, yet again.

“Machop, use Low kick on Mienfoo again!”
[RESULT: 2]
the attack on Bruce was another hit, but the Mienfoo barley seemed to feel it.

“And You use tackle Geodude, help Lulu!” Luke ordered, pointing to Crescendo.
[RESULT: 7]
Crescendo was sent flying back as the Geodude hit him, and he struggled a bit to get up again.

Yuki realized Con was in trouble. He glanced to Bruce and then to Crescendo. "Bruce, Use Vital Throw!" The small red and yellow Pokemon charged down the Geodude, eager to help his friend Crescendo!

[RESULT: 5]

WHAM! Another good hit! Bruce was making sure the Geodude would feel the hurt for beating up on his friend! No one messed with Bruce's friends! "Mieeennnnfooooo!" "Briiiing it onnnnn!
