"Rain, rain, come out to play~ never let the sun see the light of day!" sung an almost off-key voice, its owner currently skipping through mushy patches of grass. Sawyer had already traveled this route, but after hearing about the intense rain, she couldn't help but backtrack. She recalled the sudden pollen strike and heat wave not too long ago, and what had those yielded? Grass and fire starters! Of course, she wasn't able to get in much on either of them, but she'd make sure this time was different.
Paisley, her only pokemon that was currently out of her pokeball (since she was beginning to find out that Luca wasn't a fan of rain), looked up towards the Blizzara native with a curious expression. "Flaaaaffyyyyy.... Flaaffy Flaaff." Sawyeerrrrrrr... don't quit your day job she whined, brushing some droplets off of her shoulder. The trainer rolled her eyes and shrugged, adjusting her clothes so they wouldn't stick to her skin too uncomfortably. "I know I can't rhyme and sing, okay? But it seemed to suit the moment." The sheep shrugged right back, waving her tail back and forth nonchalantly as Sawyer approached the rising river's edge and peered over it.
"Helloooo? Any pokemon in there?"

Celeste giggled at Sawyer's actions as she followed her friend closely, Vulpina sitting on top of her head. "Sawyer, I think you're scaring them away, haha. But this rain, it isn't doing a thing for my hair. Hmm, I wonder, Vulpina, can you use Night Daze to keep the water off?" She asked, looking up. The little black fox peeped as her eyes glowed, a reddish aura erupting from her. It wasn't enough to hurt anyone, but it did provide a sturdy shelter that kept the water off of her beloved trainer. Celeste grinned and pet the Zorua as she looked at Sawyer. "Thanks Vulpin. Sawyer, you`ll get sick if you aren't careful. Come stand under Vulpina's Night Daze with us." She said as Pendra's antennae vibrated. Celeste smiled as she joined Sawyer. "Incoming!" She said as a Mudkip and a Totodile appeared, ready to fight. "I call the mudkip! Nuna help me out!" She said as she tossed a pokeball, the treecko emerging from it. "Scaring them away?" Sawyer repeated, arching a brow. Paisley nodded vigorously as if what Celeste said was true and plainly obvious, eager to join the girl and Zorua under their shelter. Well... she supposed her friend had a point. Backing away from the water's edge, Sawyer rolled her shoulders and waited for some opponents. Both she and her Flaaffy were ready to fight, and she could feel her egg in her hands tingle as if it appreciated getting out of the rain.
She fistpumped the air when two pokemon erupted out of the water, Sawyer nodding as Celeste claimed her opponent. "Alright then. Paisley, you know what that means! Use Thundershock on that Totodile, we're going for a knockout this round!"
Waggling her tail excitedly, Paisley waited for the squirmish Totodile to calm himself a bit before she launched the electric attack, hitting him square in the back. Sawyer beamed.

The Totodile grew angry at Paisley's attack and glared, engulfing itself in water and launching towards the Flaaffy. [RESULT: 4] It wasn't very good, but it wasn't bad either. The Totodile just continued to glare as he awaited his opponents next move. Meanwhile, Celeste hopped from one foot to the other and pointed at the mudkip. "Nuna! Leaf Storm!" She said as the Treecko nodded, spinning about to create a storm of leaves. She threw the storm at the stunned mudkip, hoping for a hit. [RESULT: 8] Mudkip was thrown back by the force of the attack, and Celeste quickly grabbed a pokeball, tossing it at the flying water pokemon. The ball shook once, twice, three times before pinging a successful capture. Nuna quickly ran over and grabbed the pokeball, bringing it back to her grateful trainer. "Mudkip is mine! I shall call you, Marina." She said, nuzzling her pokeball. Paisley grunted, basically pushing her body outwards at the Totodile as he attacked, proudly taking the force head-on. Sawyer winced, but.. there wasn't really anything she could do about it. Her Flaaffy listened to her well enough regarding her outgoing nature, and even though she wished Paisley would try to avoid moves sometimes, she let her be. Besides, why not encourage a personality like that? Better than being withdrawn in a way. Then again, it wasn't, but... gah! She didn't want to get into rambling mind mode right now.
"Use Thundershock one more time, this should be it!" Sawyer exclaimed, fists clenched as she waited for the attack to hit. Paisley put one foot forward before puffing herself up, baahing loudly as the jolt of electricity went flying towards Totodile.
[RESULT: 7] Super-effective +1
And that's all she wrote. The water pokemon was down for the count, leaving both trainer and partner smiling happily afterward. Sawyer glanced over at Celeste, also happy to see her friend had caught the Mudkip. "Awesome! I'm sure she'll come in handy later on" she commented, nodding as she huddled a little closer to her to avoid the rain. "Now, if only..." but before she could finish her statement, a few more bodies came bursting out of the water, one of them clearly not paying attention to how hard it was leaping out of the water. One of them landed on the bank and pointed towards Celeste, dancing from foot to foot, but the other... well. Smacked Sawyer right in the face.
"GET IT OFF, GET IT OFFFF!" Sawyer flailed and tried to pluck the body off of her face, but she had no luck whatsoever. Hoping to aid her trainer, Paisley's wool began sparking, the sound reaching the girl's ears. "No Paisley, just wait! Give me a little more--"
Too late!
[RESULT: 6] Super-effective +1
The Thundershock hit dead on, zapping both the girl and water pokemon. Thankfully, Sawyer shoved her egg in Celeste's arms before she was shocked, and that along with the Oshawott dislodging himself were the only good things to come of it. Flopping onto her rear afterward, the trainer glanced up at Celeste.
"Make a comment about my hair, and I swear, there will be consequences..." Although, she had to admit, she would have probably cracked up at the sight of herself if she wasn't so suddenly annoyed.

Both Celeste and Vulpina snickered at Sawyer's hair as she held her egg closely with Sawyer's before turning to Nuna.
"Take a break, you earned it." She told the grass lizard who nodded and retreated to Celeste's side. Looking behind her, Celeste smiled at Pendra.
"Let's go girl, time for you to shine." She said to the bug, who happily chirped and leapt off of Celeste's back. With a glare, Pendra prepared herself as Celeste cleared her throat.
"Let's try this new move Pendra, Bug Buzz!" She commanded. Pendra's eyes glowed as her antennae vibrated, sending a wave of vibrations towards the piplup before concentrating it into a beam aiming for the target.
[RESULT: 7]
Piplup cried out as the beam struck it, sending it into a tree. As it tried to right itself, The Oshawott looked less than happy as it took dead aim at Paisley, firing a Water Gun at her.
[RESULT: 7]
The attack was strong, and it sent her backwards as well, though Pendra rushed over and got in the way to prevent Paisley from being pushed too far back, pushing her forward to help her get momentum.

Sawyer's mouth formed an 'o' shape as she watched Pendra execute her new move, admiring it from afar. Those were gems well spent, she'd say. Maybe she'd have to invest in a bug pokemon in her team later on... that is, if she could find the Move Tutor after he was done with his travels.
She finally stood up and attempted to fix her hair while the Oshawott took aim, honestly not expecting it to hit that hard. Both she and Paisley flinched, the Flaaffy reaching around to pat Pendra on the head once the stream of water died down. She'd remember the help and pay her back one day. In the meantime, Piplup had recovered and was sneaking around behind the two, smacking his fin against Pendra with Pound.
[RESULT: 1]
"You okay?" Sawyer called, nearly rushing over to her pokemon. Paisley sighed and waved her off. As if she would let some little punk like this knock her down that easily! Shrugging, the girl nodded and stepped back, taking her egg from Celeste.
"Let's hope that doesn't happen again. Alright, Thundershock one more time!" Paisley had no problem obeying, launching a rather revengeful bolt back at the Oshawott.
[RESULT: 7] Super-effective +1
"Yes! Another one bites the dust!" Sawyer exclaimed, now reaching out for the Flaaffy and hugging her after she trotted over. "You're getting stronger by the day." With her opponent fainted, she watched Celeste and Pendra curiously. Surely they'd do the same thing too - luck did seem to be on their side, after all.
