Uhm. Ow. His anger seemed to give the tranquill more power, and poor Jupiter was already fairly beaten up from her previous battle. So it wasn't really too terribly surprising when she fell and didn't get up. Poor darling. "You did wonderfully, Jupiter," Lesa called out as Trevor declared her unable to battle. Lifting her pokeball, she ordered the pidgey to return. A light kiss on the pokeball an a murmured 'thank you' and then that ball was replaced with another.
"Alright, then. Time for you to try your hand. You're up, Aunia!" Lesa tossed the ball into the air. The eevee immediately emerged and stretched each limb.
"It's about dang time," she complained, before turning to look at the tranquill. "I won't be as easy to beat as that pidgey."
Glancing back at Lesa, she waited half a heartbeat for the command. "Tackle!"
[RESULT: 7] +1 Ability [Adaptability]
It was a firm hit, and a good start to this second round.

Tranquil gagged as Aunia knocked the wind out of him, and Wendy cringed as he fell harshly to the ground. Standing up and shaking his head rapidly, the Trainquil looked defiantly at Aunia and growled. Deciding to take advantage of this, Wendy got into a firmer stance.
"Use Peck!" She commanded, and Tranquil ran to the Eevee, his beak glowing slightly.
[RESULT: 5]
He was definitely feeling the sting of his battle, though Tranquil still gave it his all as he jabbed Aunia again and again with his beak.

For the most part, Aunia was able to duck and weave and twist out of the way of the tranquill's attack, but several of the powerful beak strokes still connected, making the breeder wince.
"Hang in there Aunia! Don't give him the chance to move away! Counter with another tackle!"
[RESULT: 3] +1 Ability
The eevee complied, though she had some trouble aiming at the fat moving bird. It wasn't nearly as powerful as her previous attack, but it was just enough.

The tackle may not have been powerful, but it was enough and Tranquil fell on the ground. Wendy gave a curt nod as she recalled her pokemon as Trevor raised his flags.
"Tranquil is unable to battle. Aunia wins!" He said cheerfully. Wendy smiled approvingly at Lesa as her honchkrow stretched out.
"Well done. You have me down to my last pokemon. This is a lot of fun, but let's stop warming up. It's time for the REAL battle to begin. You ready Cici?" She asked. Her honchkrow nodded and smirked, opening her wings and taking flighting, hovering in front of her trainer.

Lesa watched as the big haunchcrow moved forward onto the battlefield. She was imposing, and more than tat, she was ready for battle. It didn't help that Lesa was fresh out of pokemon strong against flying or dark types. But then again, if one had to rely only on type advantages, one couldn't really call themselves a trainer. The thought made Lesa chuckle. Technically, she was a breeder, not a trainer. But still, the sentiment was the same either way.
But Wendy was right. It was time to stop playing. So she glanced at Aunia.
"Alright girl! Time for a tail whip!"
[RESULT: 9] +2 Damage all attacks to CiCi

Cici the Honchkrow was less than impressed with Aunia's attack, and flew up after her tail struck. Shaking it off, the Honchkrow stared down at her foe while Wendy grinned.
"Dark Pulse!" She said as Cici's eyes glowed, throwing a whirling beam of black and purple at the eevee.
[RESULT: 5]
Not as strong as it could have been, but the attack's aim was true as it struck the eevee. Cici crowed in joy at the successful strike, but Wendy snapped her fingers.
"It's not over yet Cici, pay attention!" She said and the Honchkrow nodded, studying her foe carefully.

Aunia gritted her teeth and shook off the attack, looking a little worse for the wear, but still able to keep going. She may ave been snarky, but the little eevee definitely wasn't one to give up after such a small hit! She growled instead, her fur standing on end as she got ready to launch another attack.
"Aunia! Tackle that honchkrow!"
[RESULT: 8] +1 Ability +2 Tail Whip
Well, that smack would show Cici that perhaps her tail whip wasn't so useless after all!

Cici gave a sharp cry at the stinging attack from Aunia, batting her away weakly. She managed to shake her head clear, but she was still very hurt, and panted from exhaustion. Wendy smiled approvingly at Lesa and looked at her Honchkrow empathetically.
"Use Wing Attack!" She cried. The honchkrow gave an affirmative honk as she flew at Aunia full speed, preparing to smack her silly with her wings.
[RESULT: 5]
Unfortunately, she was slightly off course from her injuries and only managed to scrape Aunia's sides.

Lesa couldn't help but feel a little smug as Cici reeled from her attack. That would teach the bird to smirk at attacks, wouldn't it? Well, probably not, but it was doing her some good! It knocked the most powerful pokemon from the gym leader's team for a loop, and that was an advantage for her.
"Tackle again, while you have her off balance!"
[RESULT: 5] +1 Ability, +2 Tail Whip
Aunia, it seemed, was getting rather tired. It had been a long battle for her, after all, and Lesa couldn't blame her.

One more good hit and Aunia would be finished, and Cici knew this well. Without waiting for a command from Wendy, the dark bird rushed towards Aunia with a Dark Pulse readying in her beak.
[RESULT: 8]
The black and purple vortex erupted from her beak and smacked Aunia with a critical hit, knocking the eevee right out. Cici cawed her victory as Trevor raised a flag.
"Aunia is unable to battle, Cici Wins." He said as Wendy turned to her challenger.
"Sorry about that, she gets so excited, I wish she would wait for me sometimes. Are you ready to go again?" She asked her challenger, glaring at her Honchkrow for acting without command.

Lesa winced and quickly recalled the eevee into her pokeball, cradling it as if it was the pokemon herself. "You did wonderfully Aunia. You take a good rest now." She gently kissed the pokeball before placing it on her belt, and turning to the two on the sidelines. "Sokka! You're turn buddy!"
The silver eevee jumped up and literally bounded out onto the field, eager for the chance.
"Alright Sokka. This is almost done. Let's use hidden power!"
[RESULT: 9] +2 Tail Whip
And that single dragon type attack was enough to smack the honchkrow back and out.
Lesa cheered and scooped up the eevee, tossing him into the air before cuddling him proudly. "Good job Sokka."

Wendy smiled as she recalled her Honchkrow while Trevor vibrated on the sidelines. He raised his flags and smiled at the competitors. "Cici is unable to battle, Sokka wins. The Victory goes to Lesa. Yeehaw, that's all she wrote ya`ll!" Said the flying type Center Head as he tossed his flags and joined Lesa. Wendy walked up to the two and smiled wide, reaching into her pocket and pulling out a badge and a couple of TMs. "Well, you beat me fair and square. As proof of your victory here at the Gustella Gym, here is the Float Badge. You also get your choice of TMs, Aerial Ace or Acrobatics." She said, holding out the prizes. "That was some mighty fine battlin Lesa. And tha' Pidgey I gave ya was raised mighty well." He said, beaming at her. Badge Obtained: Float Badge  |
