Sneer Says:
That was a nasty serpent. I`m all better from my injuries now. Thanks for coming to my aid everyone, but I`m afraid gratitude isn't what brought this message.
It seems the staff got a bit uncoordinated and we have a few extras and charities that we did not intend running around. Let me make this clear. We are small, there are NOT that many of us, we should NOT have more than one talker per character, and even then, only those who are here everyday participating in our story can earn more than one. I am aware that we bend the rules for some cases, but that is because those people EARNED it. You had your chances at freebies during Betas and almost all of those have been claimed.
I will repeat, talking pokemon are RARE even in Varaia, and you have a SMALL chance of encountering them. These odds increase AS YOUR POST COUNT DOES. You will have a 50% chance maximum every 100 posts.
I have also seen some VERY powerful pokemon. TOO powerful. Even the Dialga and Lugia that were given out as starters aren't as overpowered as the pokemon I have seen. Let me make this clear:
While we do try to give you STAB attacks to reflect the pokemon in the rest of the world *the "anime", as you guys call it*, we still have to abide by some rules in order to fully cement the bond between pokemon and trainer. For example, there is a Numel out and about who has the attack Lava Plume, even though it should not legitimately learn it until much later.
Why is this a problem? Well think about it. If a pokemon is ALREADY a powerhouse who is undefeatable, what is the point of having a trainer? If I were given the option to be randomly given to some snot nosed brat as a starter, I would say no. Why should I waste MY TIME to babysit a kid? What do I get out of the deal?
So really, we give you weak pokemon to HELP you in the long run. YOU are the one who makes it a badass, then the pokemon has a reason to share its power and love with you.
Yes, sometimes we WILL give out overpowered pokemon, but if that happens, they will be for plot purposes. In other words, an EVENT, and sorry, but random wild pokemon encounters and Conifer's starters do NOT count as events.
So let's try to keep things fair, and WORK for our badassery. All pokemon that have been handed out that meet my qualms will be spared of my wrath, but I assure you, there will be NO MORE overpowered pokemon except for SPECIAL occasions. All members of staff, Kitty will be sending out a memo clarifying a few extra things shortly.
