Minya impatiently paced back and forth outside the Pokemon lab. The first day she's here and the professor is late. This was going just PEACHY! She grumbled to herself and kicked the dirt in front of her.

This was stupid. How could anyone so important be so unpunctual? Minya leaned against the wall of the lab, huffing to herself. She was the daughter of a Gym Leader. Shouldn't she be worth a little effort?

Minya did not have to wait long before a figure appeared in the distance, growing closer and closer. With a rush of wind, a large form appeared in front of her. The giant blue dog growled as someone climbed off its neck, shaking herself off.

"Thanks for the ride Ranny, help me set things up as usual?" Said the black haired woman as she turned to Minya.

"Oh hello there! Sorry I`m late, I had to go get the starters. My name is Professor Conifer and this is my friend, Ranny. She's a suicune who was caught by a friend of mine, and she likes to help me out. Come on in and let's get started shall we?" She said, taking out keys and unlocking the door. The three of them walked through the flashing and beeping main room until they got to a door in the back. Professor Conifer opened the door and walked inside, gesturing for Minya and ranny to follow. Without hesitating, the suicune pushed past Minya and walked into the room, laying down so Conifer could pull out 9 pokeballs, laying them in a small circle on the podium, with 6 forming a larger ring over the smaller ring of 3. Opening the 6 pokeballs on the outer ring, Conifer shooed the suicune away from the podium and turned to Minya.

"So, trainers only get one pokemon this time around. You may choose any of these six here OR you may choose a mystery pokeball. The mystery pokeballs are my breeder friend's idea of a joke. They can have ANYTHING in them, from caterpie to arceus, however, they are told to bond to the first person to open their pokeball, so once you choose it you are stuck with it. Choose wisely." She said, backing away from the pokemon to lay against Ranny, both watching Minya intently.

Minya looked disdainfully along the line of Pokemon, but doing a double take when she saw the Dratini. So this woman would just up and GIVE her a Dratini? Well, she certainly wouldn't argue with that!

The teen carefully picked up the Dratini, cuddling it close. "Well aren't you a little cutie? I hope we'll be great friends." She then looked to the woman and cleared her throat. "I've made my choice, I want this Dratini."

Ranny snorted at the upcoming trainer, shuffling her paws as she turned her attention away. That mean streak was such a front - look at the way she snuggled that Dratini! Professor Conifer just chuckled and shook her head, motioning to the items she'd set out earlier.

"Good. Now, choose a box of items, a bag, and a Pokedex, and then we can all get on with our lives." Speaking of which, the woman glanced over to the many screens on the other side of her lab, almost pining to get back to work again. She and Ranny had other things to do, and so did this girl, she was certain.

Minya cooed to her new Dratini, nuzzling it. "I'll call you Orichalcum little buddy." She recalled him into his Pokeball, clipping it on her belt. She also grabbed a bag, the green Pokedex, and a box of items. She then departed the lab swiftly, eager to go on her journey.
