It was Otsuyu's tenth birthday, she already had a great party with her Mom and dad and Maggie and Ghen. Now she was getting to the best part of the day. Getting her very first Pokemon and becoming a trainer. Part of her wished to ger ether a dark or ghost type Pokemon, but she would love whatever Pokemon she got. Though even though she had been her for a few years now she had never met the professor that ran this lab. And as she did not like people much Otsuyu wanted to get this done as fast as possible. The little girl stood in front of the doors and looked at them for a few minutes before going on. Once inside Otsuyu looked around at the room. " Hello?" Otsuyu said in a shy voice.

The Professor, as usual, was swift to answer the call of a starting youth. The more people that stopped by, the more used she was getting to having to be ready and alert at all times. That meant no more late nights and early mornings, though.. which took a bit of time to get used to. Especially the no more late nights bit. She'd been so used to getting only a few hours sleep every now and then, and now, well... she was waking up feeling like she was still tired and needed a few hours sleep.
"Hello there. Welcome to my....." Conifer paused, waving a hand apologetically at the girl as she yawned. "...lab. I study the different types of pokemon. Now, shall we introduce you to your future partner?" Smiling, the woman strolled over to a pedestal, poking the white button on six of the nine pokeballs before her, the six pokemon quickly shifting around to form a suitable line before Otsuyu.
"As a trainer, you may choose only one of these pokemon to take with you. You're also allowed to take one of the mystery balls, but it's a bit of a game of chance. My friend who breeds these pokemon for me likes to play tricks and throw random pokemon in there, and as soon as you open the pokeball, it will bond to you, and you won't be able to change your decision. We've had anything from a Feebas to a Mew emerge. Breeders and coordinators may take two starters or a mix of one starter and one mystery ball." Inhaling sharply to catch her breath, Professor Conifer stepped back and allowed to girl to make her choice. This might have been the youngest trainer she'd seen yet!

Otsuyu remained silent as Professor spoke, she seemed nice but Otsuyu still just wanted to get her Pokemon and go. And as soon as the Professor let out the Pokemon, the little girl did not even look once at the other Pokemon. Her eyes went right to the Zorua, Otsuyu smiled as she looked at the cute little dark type Pokemon. It...It was perfect!!! In fact she knew she would never put it in its pokeball unless she had to. "Zorua, I choose you!" Otsuyu said and pointed at the little dark type pokemon.

The sea breeze tangled with Vanessa's pale purple hair making it whip around her head. she didn't mind too much though. The boat that had taken her from her home region of Unova had finally reached port. She cuddled her Sableye doll in excitement.
She'd been waiting for since she was nine for this day and now three years later it had finally come. She was going to be a Coordinator! A real Coordinator just like her cousin. All she had to do was go to Professor Conifer's lab and she could get her first Pokemon ever.
Vanessa had seen the lab from the deck of the ship. As soon as her feet hit dry land she took off running in that direction.
She reached it in good time and entered the lab quietly and waited for the professor to finish up with the girl in the room. She watched as the girl claim the Zorua excitedly. Vanessa silently applauded the girls choice. Zorua's were sooo Cute! and their evolution. The beautiful Zoroark. Vanessa wasn't jealous though. She wanted to start with a Pokemon not native to Unova. That little turtle looked cuddly. Yup she wanted the turtle.
Did Conifer say something about a mystery? OOHH mystery! "Hey Professor! Can I have the turtle and a mystery pleeeeaseee?"

"So it shall be!" Professor Conifer nodded, waving goodbye to the Zorua as he gladly claimed the girl as his trainer. "Zooorua!" He barked, already acting as if he was the boss of the group. The woman greeted the next girl briefly, opening her mouth and closing it again as she stepped up and called the Squirtle to her, then opened a mystery ball. Well.. at least she knew what she was doing! When the light faded, her eyes lit up and her hands covered her mouth as she tried not to squee at the sight left behind.
"Spheeal?" The little seal tilted his head and looked around, clapping joyously as he laid eyes on Vanessa. "Speal!" Yay!
"Great going, you two. Now choose your items, bags, and Pokedexes, and you can be on your way!"

"Oh you two are just darling!" Vanessa squealed. she practically danced over to the Pokedexs. "Let's see what color. Purple! It matches my hair." first she aimed it at the Pokemon that came out of the mystery ball. "Spheal:" the robotic voice announced "It crosses the oceans by rolling itself on drifting ice. Fluffy fur keeps it warm when the temperature is below freezing."
Next she aimed it at her new turtle. "Squirtle: It shelters itself in its shell, then strikes back with spouts of water at every opportunity."
"Squritle and Spheal huh? Oh you two are just so cute! I can't wait to get on the road." after picking up the fanny pack and attaching it to her waist she bounced over to the other girl. "Hey hey what's your name huh? Mines Vanessa!"
"Oh I love your hair! It's soo pretty and the ribbon really suits you. You should take the white pokedex so it matches your hair. Hey your a beginner too right? Let's travel together!" Vanessa bounced excitedly waiting for the girl's answers

Otsuyu giggled when Zorua seemed to have claimed her and acting as if he was leader. Otsuyu did not mind that though, he would be a good leader when she caught other Pokemon. Though Otsuyu's smile was turned into a frown, as a new girl walked in.. " Great... More people..." Otsuyu thought as she glared at Vanessa, more of a habit though. Otsuyu then walked over to the items and picked up the round backpack with the two straps and the items. The last thing was the pokedex. Otsuyu looked at them and gave an annoyed looked when Vanessa spoke to her and told her to pick the white pokedex. " My name is Otsuyu... And I wanted the white one before you said anything.. And no I want to travel alone away from annoying humans like you..." Otsuyu said in a annoyed tone and picked up the pokedex and started to walk over to the door with Zorua right beside her wagging his tail happily.

Vanessa blinked at the rude treatment that the girl gave her. Then she grinned this girl was honest. Very honest. She liked that. " I like you." Vanessa hugged to girl. "This is going to be fun." Vanessa returned her two new Pokemon and looped an arm around Otsuyu. "Come on if we leave now we'll reach Gustella before night falls!"
In her free arm she cuddled her Sableye doll close and giggled in delight. this was going to be sooooo much fun!
