Finally

Walking into the city brought back old memories to Don. His parents had brought him here once before. He was just as excited now about being here as he was when then. Slowly walking and taking in all the scenery. Spotting the lab only a few yards away, he felt his heart skip a beat. That is where he had been told that he would receive his first pokemon. Although he wanted to run or skip with joy, he decided he would play it cool and walk there.

As he opened the door it squeaked a bit. First he poked his head in, just to see if anyone was there. He saw a couple people walking around, so he decided that he would slither his way in. He shivered with joy once he was inside. 'I wonder what pokemon awaits?' he thought to himself as he looked around at all the gidgets and gadgets.

"Um, Hello?"

"Hello there! I've been expecting you!" Said a voice. From out of a door in the back, Professor Conifer emerged and greeted the eager breeder-to-be.

"I`m Professor Conifer, come this way please. I know you know about pokemon and why I am giving you a pokemon, so let's get onto the fun part shall we?" She said, opening 6 pokeballs to reveal the starters, leaving 3 closed on the podium.

"You may choose two. The three pokeballs on the podium contain pokemon that are trained to impress upon the first person to open their pokeball, so once you pick one, you cannot change your mind. So, which will you choose?" She asked, gesturing toward the pokemon.

He looked carefully at each of the pokemon. He knew the two he choose had to be compatible for breeding, but he wasn't sure what he wanted. All of them was such great pokemon and he never had gave much thought into what he was going to choose once he got to this moment. He had always had a great interest in dragon pokemon, so he had Dratini in mind.

"Professor Conifer, I would really like the Dratini." he said as he looked down at the little thing. it brought him much happiness looking into its eyes.

"As for my second choice, I was wondering if I could possible have a mystery pokemon?" he said, picking up one of the pokeballs ready to throw it.

The Dratini returned Don's happy stare with with one of its own, slithering over to him and coiling around his midsection. It nuzzled his side affectionately as he picked up the pokeball. When he asked Professor Conifer if he could have it, Dratini proceeded to answer the question for him, using it's tail to guide his fingers to the button. The pokeball opened and revealed the creature inside. Professor Conifer's brow raised at the pokemon revealed, and she bit her lip, visibly shaking.

"O-oh my! Hehe, well, teehee, it's better than a Magikar---AHAHAHAHAHAHA!" She said, bursting into full-blown laughter. It wasn't that she was mocking Don or his pokemon, but one had to admit, the sight of a feebas flopping around on the floor was a hilarious one indeed. The feebas, however, did not think so, and glared at Professor Conifer before smacking it's tail into the ground. It flew up high and turned itself in midair, taking aim at the professer and launching a powerful Water Pulse Attack. The blow from the move knocked Professor Conifer back into a cabinet, leaving the woman dazed. Dratini shrieked at the sight, pushing the button on the pokeball to recall the feebas. Professor Conifer stood up and dusted herself off, showing no signs of injury.

"I`m very sorry, I did not mean to make fun of it. I was not laughing directly AT feebas. Here, perhaps this will help you get to know your pokemon. Try that again." She said, pushing a button on a computer. A panel slide out from in front of Don, allowing a tank to come up from the floor. It wasn't terribly big, but it was enough to let feebas swim around comfortably.

Don looked at the ugly little creature. It was not the best thing he could have gotten, but it defiantly was not the worse pokemon he could have received. He thought positively to himself by saying that once Feebas is leveled it will be pretty.

"Thank you Professor Conifer."

Looking from Dratini to Feebas he tried and think of names for the two.

"I think I have came up with two suitable names for the two. Dratini shall be called Gabrial and as for Feebas I shall call her.... Faye."

Professor Conifer chuckled as she stretched an arm behind her, pointing to a desk that held the bags, pokedexes and starting items.

"Choose a bag and a pokedex and get your inventory straightened out. Because of the Test to get your license, you will not be given any pokeballs because you are not allowed to catch pokemon right now. You will need to hatch pokemon from eggs obtained by the secret breeding centers." She explained, moving out of the way so Don could get his things.

Looking excitedly at his two pokemon he just barely heard what Professor Conifer had said. He glanced up to see what she was talking about. There in front of him laid two bags and a eight different Pokedexs. He knew for sure that he wanted a bag with two straps, but as for the Pokedex he had no idea. He loved the color blue, but that did not suit his fancy. He rather liked the black one. After pondering a few moments longer he had finally made his decision.

"I rather like the black Pokedex, and as far as a bag goes, two straps would be quite nice."
