Gustella Gym Challenger Yuki! Fight Begin!

Yuki could have switched Pokemon, but he wanted to heal his Kyurem a little more. He used one more Oran Berry on her, then thought of his next move for Bruce.

[Diamante Regains 10 Health]

The white haired trained smiled, knowing that the Farfetch'd wouldn't last much longer even with the type disadvantage. "Bruce, Use Pound!" The Mienfoo nodded and pulled his paw back, ready to strike..

[RESULT: 8]

BAM!!! It was out of there! Bruce hopped up and down as the Farfetch'd fainted, proud that he'd won such an important battle for his trainer. Yuki gave Bruce a thumbs up, to encourage the winning spirit.

"Nooo!" Wendy cried, stamping her foot when Farfetch'd fell to the ground. As soon as the little swirls appeared over his eyes she knew he was done, but she was still proud of him. She walked over and scooped him up, tapping his bill affectionately. "You did amazingly, taking on a huge Kyurem like that. You deserve a rest." The battered bird chirped weakly as the red light of his pokeball enveloped him and drew him inside.

"That was a good start Yuki, but we're only getting started. Better watch out for my next one!" Pulling another ball from her belt, Wendy tossed it upward, a grayish bird appearing into the sky this time.

"Tranquiiiiiiil!" he shrieked, eyeing Bruce with determination. He swooped down to the Leader's head and bounced off, eager to get started. Wendy laughed.

"What to do now, Yuki? We're waiting~"

Yuki smiled at Wendy. He knew this was only the beginning, after all, she wasn't the Gym Leader for nothing! Yuki looked at Bruce and nodded to him. "Use Meditate!" The Mienfoo nodded to confirm the order.

Bruce then closed his eyes to focus, the soothing yellow light forming around his body. Had to do it juuuust right...

It worked ,but not as well as Yuki had hoped. Bruce's attack power rose a little bit. He was raring to go, and he wasn't going to back down to some bird pokemon. "Mieenfoo!" Bring it!

"Interesting, we'll see if that helps or not. Tranquil, Peck! Watch out for his arms!" Wendy commanded, pointing a finger towards the Mienfoo, confident that her pokemon would pull through.

"Tran tran! Tranquil!" The gray bird dove head-first towards Bruce, beak slightly aglow as he aimed to make a critical hit.

Yuki yelped at the fierce blow from Tranquil. Perhaps it was time to switch tactics again. "Good job out there Bruce, but Return!" Bruce was called back into his pokeball as Yuki grabbed Diamante's ball. "Take the stage once more, Diamante!"

The Kyurem burst out of her pokeball, looking refreshed and ready for more battling. "Kyyyuuuuuuuuu rem rem!" You got it, Yuki! She lowered her head and snorted at the Tranquil. Yuki smirked and called out his next move. "Diamante, use Ice Shard!"

Diamante roared, chilling the air before her into a sharp shard of ice once more, flinging it at Tranquil..

Shwiing! Another good hit! Diamante crooned with a pleased look on her face. She loved performing well for Yuki. The white haired trainer gave a fist pump into the air. "Thats the spirit, Diamante!"

"Traaaaaan!" He was hit hard by the attack, plummeting towards the ground quickly because of it. However, Tranquil caught himself just in time to pull upward and swoop around, positioning his body so that he could land on the ground and preen the ice from his feathers. Wendy waited for a moment to allow her pokemon some rest before giving him new instructions.

"Peck one more time, you're doing great! Keep yourself hidden in her blind spots" she advised, glad to see that her Tranquil's efforts were as eager and strong as ever when he flapped off of the ground. Doing as he was told, the bird aimed for an angled attack near the Kyurem's side, diving to hit Yuki's pokemon once more.

Diamante snarled as the attack landed against her weak side. She squirmed a little bit before charging to the other side of the arena. Yuki looked frustrated, clutching his hair in his hands. Diamante looked to Yuki and began to speak into his mind. Yuki. I'm going to try Sheer Cold again. Its our best bet.[/color]

Yuki bit his bottom lip. "But Diamante, that failed last time! Are you sure?" Diamante nodded once and lowered her head, growling and chilling the air..

Not even close this time. Diamante roared in frustration at her own inadequacy. She was due to be beaten at this rate. Yuki growled and stomped his foot. "Don't you dare give up Diamante! We aren't beaten yet!"

Wendy winced as she watched Yuki stamp his foot in frustration. That only made Diamante more agitated, it seemed, which only sent tensed emotions back to Yuki... this wasn't good at all. "You'll get it soon, just keep trying! Maybe you should change your strategy and focus on getting hits in, then work on big attacks like that when you have no other options. Luck tends to strike that way."

Pausing to click her tongue, Wendy nodded to Tranquil, who was looking towards her and waiting for a command. "Aerial Ace this time! Just like before!" Tranquil squawked and dove once more, hoping to score another good attack.

Yuki sighed and looked Diamante in the eyes. Diamante was starting to struggle. Yuki wished he could heal her, but he couldn't risk Bruce either. "Please. I know you can do this. Use Icy Wind!"

Diamante nodded and raised up slightly, extending her good wing. A fierce wind began to howl in the arena..

Fshoooooooo! Another good hit! Diamante was starting to feel better about her battling skill now, but she wasn't out of the woods yet! Yuki smiled and sent a positive thought to Diamante.

"Gah! Hold it, Tranquil! You can do it, just catch the breeze that the attack drew in!" Wendy said, mostly talking to herself as she watched the bird pokemon struggle slightly in the ice attack. He knew very well what he was doing and wasn't about to eep in the middle of the battle - not with as much energy as he had left! Still, to make his trainer happy, he listened and easily lifted higher into the sky, flapping his wings every now and then as he changed his position.

"Do an Aerial Ace and let the wind help force you downward! To her weak side again!"

"Traaaaaan!" he screeched, tucking his wings in as he prepared to hit the large beast once more.

Yuki growled as Diamante's weak side was struck again. He held out her Pokeball and pressed the button. "Return, Diamante!" He then grabbed Bruce's ball and tossed it into the air. The Mienfoo looked a little battered, but he had to do something.

The white haired trainer used another one of his Oran Berries on Diamante, healing her up a little. He then thought about what move Bruce should use in the meantime.

Bruce looked back to his trainer, desperate to get this battle over with. Yuki considered his options carefully before deciding. "Use Knock Off again!"

The Mienfoo nodded and ran up to the Tranquil. He drew his paw back and thrust it forward..

[RESULT: 5]

THWOP! A good hit. Bruce smiled as the Tranquil would be feeling the hurt soon enough. Yuki gave his Pokemon an encouraging smile. This battle was going incredibly well for him, despite minor mishaps.

Good, good! Wendy was worried that Yuki was going to try and have Diamante charge through both this round and the next, but the dragon wouldn't have lasted quite that long, would she? And she couldn't allow her Honchcrow to battle Bruce. So seeing him switch out his pokemon was relieving, even though the Mienfoo's attack threw Tranquil for a loop.

"Use Peck as he tries to retract his palms, Tranquil!"

"Quil!" the bird replied, nodding and following through with the attack, striking hard in retaliation.

Yuki smiled softly, knowing Bruce would go down with one more hit. He had one Oran Berry left, and he used it on Diamante. With that out of the way, he was free to attack again.

Bruce was breathing very heavily, being on his last legs. Yuki knew Bruce was tired, but he had to try. "Bruce, Use Knock Off once more!" The Mienfoo nodded, rushing the Tranquil once more..

[RESULT: 0]

BWA-TANG! Blocked it! Bruce stumbled back a ways, frustrated that the bird Pokemon had managed to deflect his attack. Yuki sighed and shrugged. Sometimes luck just didn't hold through.

Wendy smiled at her challenger. He was doing very well considering how little time he'd had to train, and she respected that. Adding a random twirl to her finger-jab towards Bruce, Wendy called out to her pokemon one more time, hoping this would bring the boy's party count down to one.

"Aerial Ace!"

Tranquil puffed out his chest and was gone in an instant, eager to follow through with the command. "Traaaaan!"

Yuki sighed and returned Bruce to his Pokeball. "You did very well, Bruce. I'm proud of you." He then grasped Diamante's pokeball and tossed it into the air. "Alright Diamante, lets do this!"

The Kyurem roared, feeling very refreshed once more. She sneered down at the Tranquil, knowing she could win now. Yuki smiled and jabbed his finger toward the bird Pokemon. "Use Ice Shard!"

Diamante nodded, chilling the air in front of her into a javelin of ice. She flung it at her opponent..

SHWIING! A direct hit! Diamante roared in triumph as the Tranquil finally went down after a long battle. Yuki smiled widely at his Kyurem, feeling very proud of her. "Good job, Diamante!"
