Jessa was exhausted. She plopped down just outside the Pokemon Lab, too tired to go inside. She'd come a long way from Hurricana, as Dust Town was almost the other side of the continent from her home. The sun was bearing down on her face, so she couldn't stay here long.
She began to wonder if she really had the drive to be a master Coordinator. She'd never even had a Pokemon of her own to practice with during all those years of dreaming..

Lucky for her, Jessa did not have to wait long, for the air soon cooled around her, and before she could figure out what was going on a giant blue dog appeared right in front of her. She looked up in shock as the Suicune stared down at her sternly while someone dismounted from it. "Wow, Ranny you ARE fast. Oh hello there! You are one of the new trainers coming for a pokemon today right? Well come on in and let's get started." Said the woman as she opened the door, letting Jessa and Ranny in. They wuickly made their way through the main lab into the back room where a large podium stood with 9 pokeballs on it. The woman approached the podium and opened 6 of the 9 pokeballs, releasing their inhabitants. "My name is Professor Conifer, and I study pokemon types. You have better things to do than listen to me about my work and the world of pokemon and whatnot, so let's get right to the fun part. After all, the best way to learn is to experience it yourself! Since you are a coordinator, and the contests this year are double performances, you may take two pokemon. You may choose any of these 6 and/or any of the mystery pokemon." She said, pointing to the unopen pokeballs. "The person who I get these from has an odd sense of humor. She likes to stick random pokemon in these pokeballs and then command them to bond to the first person to open their pokeball. It can be anything from a caterpie or a magikarp to an arceus or a zapdos. Someone walked out with a lugia not too long ago. But choose wisely, once you pick a mystery pokemon, you cannot unpick it. Go ahead." She said, stepping aside to let the girl make her choices.        |

Jessa looked at the Pokemon in front of her. The Bulbasaur looked so cute! She smiled brightly at it, and then looked to the mystery balls. They could contain anything at all..Something about the chance of getting some super rare Pokemon drawed her in.
She looked up at Prof. Conifer after a few minutes of deliberation. Jessa cleared her throat and responded. "I'll take Bulbasaur..and a mystery ball." Her eyes then focused on the mystery ball, grabbing it and holding it for a moment. She then pitched it high into the air, awaiting the Pokemon within.

The Bulbasaur quickly made his way over to his new trainer, nudging her leg with his head to try and get her to play, but then she threw the mystery pokeball and the light the erupted from it captivated the grass pokemon. Everyone watched as the white beam took shape in front of them, and what an odd creature it was. The pokemon was no different in terms of form and color from the light that shaped it, aside from the big purple flame at the top of its head. It opened it's yellow eyes and stared up at Jessa hopefully, trying to determine if she would like it or not. "Only one way to find out, Geronimo!" It said as it leaped up, landing on top of Jessa's head. The pokemon leaned forward till her eyes were level with her new trainers, and a smile adorned her face. "My name is Litwick! But you can give me a different one if you want. You're pretty, and I`m not just saying that because of my flame lighting your face. Can I stay? Please? I`ll light the darkness for you with my flame? pleeeeeeease?" She asked, pouting at the girl in hopes she would let her stay. Professor Conifer giggled as she watched the trio, staying back so they could get to know one another. Jessa stared at the light emanating from the mystery ball. She blinked a few times as the Pokemon's form became clearer. It was a Litwick! "Only one way to find out, GERONIMO!!" Before she knew it, the Pokemon was in her face, chatting up a storm. "My name is Litwick! But you can give me a different one if you want. You're pretty, and I`m not just saying that because of my flame lighting your face. Can I stay? Please? I`ll light the darkness for you with my flame? pleeeeeeease?"
The red haired coordinator carefully grasped the small Pokemon in her hands, smiling softly. "Of course you can stay! You're too cute! I will call you Corona, little buddy!" Jessa then looked down at her Bulbasaur, grin still spread wide on her face. "And you, little fella, are known as Basil from here on out. I bet we'll make a great team."

Bell had finally made it to the Professor house after a long trip. The Tauros her grandmother let her borrow to ride here nudged her along the path, slightly tired by the journey and ready to go back home. He was a smart Tauros and made the route from here to Fieldville many times before. Bell scratched his nose a bit and smiled, watching as it turned around and headed home.
After making sure the Tauros had started home, she made her way to the Professors house, making sure to look around the place also. She made sure to fix her hat and clothing, wanting to look her best, and walked inside tentatively. "Um... Professor Conifer?" She muttered, noticing that another person was in there with a Litwick and a Bulbasaur.

Professor turned to the newcomer and smiled, gesturing toward the remaining pokemon.
"I was expecting you. Just pick your pokemon from the ones we have left ok?" She said as she continued to stay back.

Bell looked at all the Pokemon before her and wondered about them. They all looked so lovely and cute but she knew that she couldn't choose them all. She knew that each one was eventually going to be picked but for some reason, she felt drawn to the Dratini particularly. "Why you are a cute one, aren't you?" She giggled as she picked up the small Dratini in her hands.
Bell couldn't decide on a second one and she wasn't too sure that any one of them would be able to, ah, mate with the Dratini. She had heard something about the mystery balls and was curious about it. Since she didn't believe she had another option, she grabbed one of the mystery balls and threw it out, hoping for a Pokemon that would work for the small Dratini.

The Dratini wiggled happily in Bell's grip as it watched the pokemon burst forth from the pokeball she threw. It was long and purple and it had it's eyes set on Bell and dratini. The snake slithered over and gave the cutest look it could at the girls, obviously wanting to impress them. "Ekans." It said as it writhed, trying to show how graceful it was. Jeon sprinted to the Lab's door, opend it and said "Professor? Are you here? I'm sorry that I'm this late, I overslept...". He paused as he saw two other persons next to the professor. Those two... Jeon could maybe join them on a journey... . He walked towards the pokemon on the podium, but then realized he didn't introduce himself properly yet. "My name is Jeon'gi, but I prefer to be called just Jeon... Jeon'gi sounds too long. Nice to meet you." He said, smiling to the two in front of him. "May I please choose my pokemon, professor?" He asked, eager to start a new adventure. |

Professor conifer smiled at the newcomer and nodded, gesturing toward the pokemon.
"Go ahead. When everyone has gotten their pokemon I`ll hand out the equipment." She said, waiting patiently.

"Okay professor." Jeon replied. He turned towards the podium, but none of the pokemon were interested in Jeon... they were all looking away... "I think I'll go for the mystery ball then." Jeon said, grabbing the pokeball and throwing it in the air. It was like slow-motion for him... A new adventure, new friends, and new pokemon! |

From the pokeball a light emerged, and before it could finish forming the pokemon began to tear around the lab in a mad frenzy. It stopped momentarily and the black and white pokemon glared at Jeon before running toward him, crashing into him and knocking the boy down. It stared into his eyes with an angry expression before snorting, getting off of him and standing next to him. "Blitzle." You'll do. It said, turning its head away from him. professor Conifer chuckled uneasily as she watched the pair, pointing to the equipment. "Go ahead and get your things so you can move on. Breeders cannot carry pokeballs." She said as she sat in her desk. "Oooh a Blitzle!" Jeon yelped in exitement. "Thank you, professor!" He added after snuggling the pokemon.
Since you arrived first at the lab, I'll let you choose your equipment first, ladies first.
"I have to give you a name" Jeon turned towards the Blitzle. "I think I'll call you Guntur, that's Indonesian for 'Thunder'. |

Jessa and her Litwick had been chatting in a separate corner of the room while the other boy chose his Pokemon. She looked over just as a Blitzle was released from the final mystery ball. It looked pretty violent..But hopefully it wouldn't harm her precious pokemon!
Her eyes wandered to the equipment Prof. Conifer had set on the table. She grabbed a box of items for herself, then looked over the Pokedex's and the bags. Jessa selected the black Pokedex and the Hoenn Girl's bag, placing all her things into her new pack. She pressed the button on her Pokeballs, putting her Pokemon away. She looked to Jeon and smiled. "Say..You wanna travel together? My pokemon aren't great battlers..And I could use the company. The name is Jessa. I'm a coordinator!
