Yuki was running full tilt up the hill to Prof. Conifer's lab. He had overslept! It was almost full noon by the time he got up and realized he was supposed to get his Pokemon today! Some trainer he was starting out to be!
He ran through the large doors, panting heavily. He looked around and then collapsed on the floor. "I'm not...too late am I?" Yuki stopped a moment to catch his breath before springing up from the floor. "Yo! Professor Conifer, are you around?"

Yuki looked first at the Squirtle. He may have preferred water pokemon, but something about the luck people had been having with Mystery Balls drew him in. He was torn! Ugh, why did important decisions have to be so hard?
The white haired lad thought long and hard, his eyes squinted shut in concentration. This was a rare moment of thought for him, he didn't want to mess up as a trainer by picking a Pokemon he couldn't work well with..
He finally growled out, pulling on his hair. "Ugh, why does this have to be so hard?" He looked forlornly at the Squirtle, realizing how hard it would be to start his journey with a Water type Pokemon. Yuki gave the little blue turtle a fond pat on the head though. He then grabbed the middle mystery ball and tossed it lightly into the air. "Come on out, new buddy!"

The light that burst forth from the pokeball quickly took shape in front of Yuki, and the pokemon in front of him crossed it's yellow arms and looked at him as if it was debating on whether or not he was good enough. Soon, the pokemon smiled and held out a paw to him. "Mienfoo." It said, obviously accepting him and introducing itself. Professor Conifer smiled at the pair as she let them get to know one another.  Pokemon Name: Mienfoo Gender: Male Pokemon Personality: Friendly, determined, prefers cooperation Pokemon Ability: Inner Focus Pokemon Health: 26 Pokemon Level: 5 Move Roster: Pound, Meditate, Vital Throw, Knock Off |

Yuki blinked a little bit at the Pokemon before him. Mienfoo? Wasn't that a fighting type? Well, either way, this was the beginning of a long journey. Yuki took the Pokemon's paw and shook it gently. "Well Hello there. M'name's Yuki. Speaking of names..I ought to give you one...How about Bruce?"
The Mienfoo contemplated this name for a little bit before nodding. "Foo." Works for me. The yellow and red Pokemon posed for a moment before leaping into his trainers Arms. Yuki giggled and nuzzled Bruce's head. "So Bruce it is. We're gonna have lots of fun, little guy~"

Conneko walked along the edge of the path that led to Dust town, after a long boat ride, it was kind of good to just take it slowly. Slowly was nice and ow! Blinking a bit, Conneko looked down at the floor to try to determine what had just happened. Had he just tripped on grass? Or was it air this time? Conneko found it sad that he didn’t even know what he was tripping over anymore. Now that he thought about it, he very much wished he wasn’t so clumsy to begin with. He ran a hand through his black hair and sighed.
“Come on Con, focus…” He finally stood up again and dusted off his blue jeans, trying to clarify to himself that he had to get his new Pokémon, and that it had to be today. He came to the door of the lab and paused. He breathed deeply before pushing the door the lab open and stepping inside He looked around and gave a slight sigh. Why was he so nervous?
“Hello? I’m here as a first time trainer…um…or…breeder rather…” he called. Man he hoped this would turn out okay.

Professor Conifer smiled at the newcomer and nodded, pointing to the remaining pokemon.
"Take your pick dear, Breeders get two pokemon. Be wary of the Mystery Pokeballs. They were bred to bond to the first person who opens their pokeball, so once you choose you cannot go back. I have seen people walk away with legndary pokemon, but also common pokemon too. Choose wisely" She said as she backed away to let Conneko choose.

Mystery Ball, huh? Conneko heard her say he could have two, since he was going to be a breeder, so he nodded to her and picked up two of the Mystery balls.
He wasn’t exactly sure what would come out of them, he just hoped whatever they were, they would be friendly. He sighed and looked at the professor for a final assurance, also noticing there was another boy there for the first time. He looked down at the Mystery balls again.
“Okay…” He breathed, smiling warmly at the professor before tossing the balls up into the air. He just hoped they’d be nice, he couldn’t care much less what it was.

The pokeballs unleashed the creatures within in the form of bright lights. The beams took shape on the ground and when the light faded, the two pokemon opened their eyes to look at their new trainer. While they were both small, one seemed to be very much a child even without it's boney diaper, looking up at Conneko lovingly. "Vullaby?" She asked, tilting her head at him. Would he accept her? She didn't know, but she'd try to make him anyway. The other pokemon, however, was less timid. It immediatly flapped it's tiny wings and leaped up to it's new trainer, landing on his shoulder. "Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrufflet!" He squawked, rubbing his head against Conneko's cheek and staring at the other people in the room with a watchful eye. Conneko looked over on his shoulder to the Rufflet that was cuddling him quite happily, and patted him gently on the head, happy to have him. The Vullaby looked terrified, as if it thought he wasn’t going to like her or something. So he knelt down and gave her a gentle pet on her head before picking her up off the ground and hugging her.
“You guys are awesome.” He assured them both, looking over at the Professer with a birght look in his eyes.
“Thanks a lot Professor….now… what to call you two…” He looked at the Rufflet first, and decided.
“You’ll be Crescendo,” He then looked down at Vullaby. “And you’ll be Falsetto, my beautiful little bird.” Falsetto crowed happily and Crescendo gave a cry of happiness. Finally, Con turned to look at the boy he had just noticed.
“Hey, did you just get your first Pokemon too?” He asked. It was sort of a dumb question, but he was trying to make some kind of friend in this new region.

Yuki was looking over the gear before him when he heard a voice behind him. He turned around and smiled at the new guy. "Oh, hey there! You must be the other person Prof. Conifer meant. Yeah, I got this little guy just before you came in. His name is Bruce." He had a bright smile on his face.
Bruce hopped down out of his trainers arms, walking over to Crescendo and Falsetto. He held out a paw in greeting, a smile wide on his yellow face. "Foooo! Mienfoo! Mien, Mienfoo!" "Hi there! I'm Bruce, and that loudmouth behind me is my new trainer! Hope we can be friends! Yuki chuckled at how ridiculously polite his partner was. "I'm a local here, I have a way with Pokemon! I'm good at seeing how they are feeling. So if you need any pointers, just ask!"
Yuki then turned back to the gear. He grabbed the orange-yellow Pokedex and the over the shoulder bag, as well as a box of items. He looked to the breeder before he realized he'd never said his name! "Oh yeah..My name is Yuki, by the way. We could travel together if you want. I know the way to Gustella Town well enough."

Con looked over at Yuki and smiled. He wasn’t honestly too good with new people but he would try. He looked over to the table and looked around. He chose the Purple Pokedex, the bag that was more like a messanger bag than anything else, and any nessacary supplies besides the Pokeballs. He then turned back to Yuki again.
“All right, we’ll travel together then. It’ll be good to be around someone who knows the region. My name is Conneko, but you can call me Con.” He explained, putting his bag on. Falsetto and Crescendo both looked at Bruce for a moment and then cooed happily.
“Rufflet Ruff let!” Nice to meet you!
“Vullaby, Vul!” Looks like we’ll be traveling together!
Con thanked the professor and looked back at Yuki. “Shall we get going?” He asked as Falsetto jumped into his arms and Crescendo came to rest on his shoulder.
