Sonia walked up to the lab, smiling brightly. She'd come a long way from Fieldville. Maybe she could catch up to her sis shortly! First, she needed a Pokemon.

She walked inside the large building and called out. "Hello? Anyone there?" She stood where she was, unsure of what to do next. She hoped she wouldn't bother the Professor with her unannounced visit.

Professor Conifer had just happened to walk into the main part of her house just as Sonia had come into the room. She smiled and put down a book she had been reading, touching up on some of her knowledge. With a waved of her hand she beckoned the young lady in and went over to the podium of 9 Pokeballs.

"Ah... I was expecting someone to come in today, although you do look like someone that recently came through here..." She shrugged though and tossed out 6 of the Pokeballs. "Here are your choices. I am guessing you are a trainer so you may have the choice of choosing one of these Pokemon or one of the three mystery Pokeballs here."

The Professor indicated the balls now and smiled again. "One of these three balls can be used to give you nearly any Pokemon at random, from a Magikarp to an Eevee! However, if you chose it, you may not go back on your choice. So please, choose wisely." She smiled again and back away so that she could choose her Pokemon.

Sonia looked over all the Pokemon. They were all so cute! But there was only one Pokemon for her! She looked straight at the Totodile and smiled. "I want the Totodile!"

She practically squeed with delight. She would finally be able to start her journey! Sonia held her arms out for the Totodile. "Come 'ere you!"

Professor Conifer giggled a bit as the sleep-eyed Totodile rubbed the tiredness from his eyes. He yawned once and mumbled a bit. "Toto..." Eventually though, he walked over to his new trainer, slipping into her arms, immediately snoozing away again.

The professor had to suppress a laugh as she indicated the supplies behind her. "If you may, you can get a bag, a Pokedex, and a box of supplies for your journey!" She showed Sonia each thing behind her.

Sonia cooed to her Totodile as he fell asleep in her arms. "Aww. You're so precious. Your name from now on is Riptide little fella. You and me are goin' places!"

The young Totodile continued to slumber in her arms as she grabbed the dark blue Pokedex, the over the shoulder bag, and her box of items. It was then something the professor said that kicked in. "You've seen someone who looked like me? Did she have a tan hat on? Aw..You prolly weren't focusin on her hat..Anyway. Thanks again Professor Conifer! I'll take real good care of this lil fellow!"
