"Whew, I'm tired!" Lexx sighed, sinking down with her back against a large boulder near a stream. "What a nice place to stop and rest though!"

Lexx, with her Cyndaquil named Thera and her Sandshrew named Razor, pulled out her water bottle and filled it up in the clear, bubbling stream. Thera had already finished lapping from the stream and had begun bothering a Caterpie nearby that really seemed to want nothing to do with her.

At least it's not a Weedle with a stinger. That'd sort her out quick! Lexx thought to herself with a giggle.

It was another couple of minutes before Razor realized they'd stopped, and with a long yawn he simply rolled out of her backpack and onto the ground, looking around with his eyes half closed.

"Shrew?"

[Skyler Wing]

It had been awhile since Skyler had parted ways with Timothy and his strangely aggressive Charmander. Good thing too, because it was obvious that the incident had fired up Knave properly. As they made their way off the road, he finally started to calm down and walk at a normal rate.

"It's been almost an hour and a half, I think we're okay," Skyler laughed, making her way toward a small group of trees near a stream. "Look, we'll go sit on that bould- okay..."

Knave had started investigating every bush and tree as soon as she mentioned changing location. Skyler watched him bustle about the front of the huge boulder for a few minutes before he nodded and motioned her over. With a laugh, Skyler made her way over. As she settled herself on the boulder, she lost sight of Knave.

But an instant later.

"PAWNIARDDDD!"

Skyler sprinted around the boulder just in time to see Knave flashing his blades and buzzing angrily at a little ball of flame.

"No, don't! What are you doing!"
