Sorry things have been so slow guys. I`ve been having a long, exciting life here in reality. It's left me with Insomnia, which has left me feeling VERY tired constantly, and the idea of doing any work gave me headaches like you wouldn't believe. But I`m starting to come out of this now. I`m trying to get to bed earlier and keeping myself more awake during the day. I`m getting more energetic everyday, and will kick VS into Overdrive once I get back up to speed.
Well, not fully. My other admins haven't quite wrangled their lives yet. I`ll keep you guys entertained though. We still have an issue in droughtenna that needs to be solved, and don't forget, our wonderful friend Mystery is here! She told me she's gonna get her stuff together and start her halloween fun on the 25th. I SHOULD have my act together by then.
I`ve got one last surprise for you all. I`m introducing an Official Newsletter to VS. it'll be an IC newspaper that will have been written by Sneer *and various volunteers* to keep everyone updated on what's going on in the region. In it you`ll find articles that talk about what gym leaders are doing, share information regarding each of the cities, learn about notable trainers, and various other events happening all over the region. Each issue will come out every month, and anyone can contribute to it. Just send your article/puzzle/whatever to Sneer and she`ll determine if it should be included in the upcoming issues. Don't be disappointed if it doesn't show up in the issue after you submit it, it might show up the month after. I`ll start collecting articles from you guys now and have the first issue come out sometime in September.
The newsletter will be broken down roughly like this:
Articles:
Gym Leader News - What gym leaders are currently doing. A random three will be featured every issue.
Local News - Things happening throughout the Varaia region. All plots will have an article as they are revealed, not to mention any and all special occasions will be noted as they come up.
Trainer Spotlight - Trainers, both Victory Seeker and Necro alike *for no one can tell the difference at first glance* will be noted here for special achievements. There are always three mentions, the OTM's and a runner up.
World News - Some things going on around the rest of the pokemon world, from Kanto to Unova. Most of the time, the other regions really have nothing to do with us, and this section serves mainly as a cheat-sheet for some of the games in the paper.
Obituaries - The saddest section, but still greatly important. This section will detail the deaths of important creatures in Varaia. Most of the entries here will be of wild legendary pokemon captured and killed by Team Necro, but any character killed off will be given a mention in here, as well as any pokemon death within the Victory Seekers organization.
Money Makers:
Classifieds - Odd jobs that need doing around the region. The people who post these ask for weird things sometimes, but the pay is good.
Lottery - Three lotteries are posted here. The ID Increase, The Pokedex Powerball, and The Random Rake-In. The ID Increase is based solely on the numbers of the accounts on VictorySeekers. Random.Org will be used to draw a number, and the account attached to that number will get money. The money paid out is the number of posts made multiplied by two. The Pokedex Powerball is a random payout that works like the real-world powerball. You can purchase Pokedex Powerball tickets in any pokemon center and pick any 5 pokemon in the pokedex. Formes and event pokemon are NOT separate species, though you`ll get a slight bonus for pegging the correct pokemon and their status. The person with the ticket closest to that months selection wins, and if you get all five pokemon right you will win the Jackpot and a Rare Candy. Get all five pokemon AND all status *forme/event* you win the jackpot and a Mystic Water. Shininiess is not counted. The Random Rake-In is another Random.org-based lotto in which you pick three numbers between 1 and 100. The ticket closest to the chosen numbers will win 100, 150, or 250 pokedollars depending on the accuracy.
Random Activity: This is where all the VS OOC contests have been moved to. Every month you`ll have to wrack your brain for funniness/cleverness. There will be ONE contest per issue, so it'll be a caption contest, a riddle, or something else requiring you to think. You`ll get a little bit of money from completing that issue's activity.
Time Wasters:
Crossword - Just a random game that tests how much of the newsletter you read. You don't get paid to do it or anything, it's just for fun.
VictorySeekers: The Comic - Remember that comic I promised you? Well it`ll be right here! There will be one page of VS:TC every month, but I promise I won't do to it what Kubo and Kishimoto are doing to Bleach and Naruto. Each page is self-contained, with the occasional multi-parter making it's way through.
Paradisia Egg-Count - A simple word problem that you can solve. It's main function is for Paradisia's owner to show off her nice things. Prick.
