New Friends Come and Go, but One Shall Stay Today

[Tane Flight]

It was sad, but it seemed that Tane and Virgil lost Mikhail. Tane, however, didn't really seem to notice too much as he spotted something in the near distance. Tied to a tree was a poor, strangely coloured starving Dratini, it's Pokeball hanging by a string that was tied to one of the branches and a sign that said "Free, useless worm" was nailed to the tree.

The racer ran over to the Dratini and looked at it. "Dude, that's just not right." He said, looking at the Dratini, who looked back with terrified eyes. Tane grabbed out a little Pokemon food and handed it to the Dratini. He looked at the food then back and Tane then back at the food again, after a moment of doing this he ate the food that was in Tane's hand. "Dude, chance, look at this Dratini!" Tane called out to his friend.

[Virgil]

Virgil came over when Tane called him. He had to see what this Dratini had that made Tane so interested. Then he saw everything about this whole situation. Someone had tied this Dratini to a tree and had a sign that said that it was useless. He focused so much on that word. That’s it. He would so find whoever said that the worm was useless and take them down. He looked at Tane and then back towards the strangely colored Dratini. He wasn’t all that interested in the color though. A Pokemon was a Pokemon.

“Strange color. But who the heck would do this to a Pokemon? No Pokemon is useless” he commented quite annoyed by what he saw. “Why don’t you untie the Dratini, Tane?"

[Tane Flight]

"I was just about to do that." Tane said as he began to untie the Dratini, the knot was rather difficult, but eventually, it came undone. "There we go!"

The dragon noticed that his binds were gone and he was free again. He looked up at Tane and gave what looked like a smile. He didn't know why, but he liked this human, he seemed much nicer than his last. The Dratini slithered up Tane and around his neck, acting kind of like a scarf. "Ti~" He purred, cuddling his new friend.

"Dude, Chance. Looks like we got a new friend! What do you say lil' guy, wanna come with us?" Tane asked the Dratini who purred out another sweet-sounding cry and cuddled some more.

[Virgil]

Virgil smiled as he saw that the Dratini was untied now.

“Yeah” he said agreeing to what Tane said. It was actually quite cute that the Dratini had taken up a spot around Tane’s neck and acted like a scarf. Plus, this Pokemon or rather any Pokemon could be useful. He turned to look away at the moment. There was always the journey ahead though and even he wanted to get going. Become stronger, who knows, there might be a battle that he had to do just to get to a breeding center. So far it had been guessing about eggs and then a racing on Pokemon. Both had been a bit of a new experience for him. He had to be prepared for what came next.

“Any more wild Pokemon around here? I still want to get a bit more training in. Get the team to be stronger” Virgil said calmly as he looked around.

[Tane Flight]

Tane smirked and began to look around as well, he was excited for next battle, cause now he had an awesome dragon with him as well! Suddenly as if sensing the duo's wishes, two wild Pokemon jumped out, ready to fight.

[Virgil]

Virgil stepped forward as he spotted the Wooper. The last Pokemon that he wanted to have was that Buizel but that was beyond him thanks to his current limitations as a breeder. But he couldn’t do anything about it, he just had to smile and get on with his life. And smile he did as he stared at the Wooper. Rona was still hurt so he wouldn’t send her out. He looked over towards the Hoppip.

“You’re up, Hoppip” he said warmly as he pointed towards the grass Pokemon.

Hoppip didn’t even seem to hear him at first and so he called its name again. This time, he got a small response. And by the third one, this Hoppip took the battlefield. It was quite airheaded as Virgil had noted before.

“Use Confusion” he said quickly.

The Hoppip's eyes glowed as it started to focus on the water Pokemon before it. But after a few seconds, the other Pokemon only budged a few inches, and then the attack ended.

[Tane Flight]

Tane smirked as he saw the two wild Pokemon appear. "Awesome!" Tane watched as Virgil went to the wooper leaving him with the slow slowpoke. "Alright, Blitz, you can have this one!" He said, releasing the spider from it's contents.

The Spider looked around, but grumbled seeing no tall items where in his area besides Tane. Well at least there was the Slowpoke...Blitz charged at the Slowpoke and jumped on the water Pokemon, biting into the psychic type's flesh and sucking the energy from him.

The whooper, barely felt the Hoppip's attack. He had done next to nothing to him, only barely moving him a little. He looked at his opponent and thought for a second. After a moment of thinking about his choices he began to wag his tail, lowering the grassy Pokemon's defenses.

Wooper: 15/15

[Virgil]

Virgil blinked and then smiled. It was time to go all or nothing again. The battle wasn't done until either Pokemon won. And Hoppip would win this battle. He snapped his fingers and called out to his Pokemon, "Strike again with Confusion!

Hoppip responded with its eyes glowing once again and trying to hit the Pokemon this time. She hovered around a little in the air and then landed down on the ground as she fully concentrated on her opponent. There was the blue outline again around the opponent. Hoppip picked her opponent up and then slammed them down again, dealing a bit of damage.

The Slowpoke seemed to register that attack only a few seconds after it was done. Clearly, it wasn’t in the right mood or that it didn’t have enough in the brain department to think fast enough. It charged forward, as psychic energy flowed around its head, and it sped up. He wasn’t going to lose to some bug Pokemon.

[RESULT: 2]

Unfortunately, the Slowpoke was too slow to actually do any real damage. It barely bopped the bug Pokemon on the head.

[Tane Flight]

Though it was barely much of a hit, Blitz wan't too happy about getting bonked in the head. Thankfully, this battle wouldn't be too difficult for the small spider. Blitz hoped back on the slowpoke and continued to drain the psychic creature's energy.

Ha! That sad excuse of a weak, try to take him out? preposterous! The Wooper attacked powerfully, using his entire body to slam into the Hoppip. The attack was so powerful, it Paralyzed Hoppip and the Hoppip's lowed defenses made this attack even more deadly.

[Virgil]

Virgil glared at the Wooper. This thing had body slammed into his Pokemon. Hoppip didn’t look too good either plus it wasn’t moving around all that much. It had been paralyzed. Darn it, his luck was running bad this time. He could switch out or he could continue on. Just have to make a decision. He looked at his Hoppip again.

“Ok, you can still take this Wooper down! Use Confusion once more!” Virgil called out to his Pokemon.

Hoppip tried lifting it again with that psychic move of its. The attack was a successful as the Hoppip gripped the Pokemon hard with the confusion attack and slammed it even harder against the ground.

The Slowpoke registered the pain from the attack a few seconds later and glared at the bug Pokemon that had done it. It charged forward again.

[RESULT: 6]

The Slowpoke delivered an even more powerful blow with its Zen headbutt but still wasn't enough to do anything good with it except deal more damage than last time.

[Tane Flight]

Blitz didn't like the powerful hit that was done on him. He screeched unhappily, attempting to also lower some defense. He hadn't even though about his attack strategy because of the zen headbutt. "Aw, dude, Blitz! Don't start screeching! We almost beat them!"

To both Tane and Blitz, not only was the unnecessary, but the actual move did absolutely nothing to the slowpoke.

[RESULT: 0]

Confused and dazed, the Wooper tried to gain his senses and attack, however he was too confused to do so and ended up hurting himself. Thankfully he was careful when attacking and did no damage to himself.

[Virgil]

This was it. All Hoppip had to do was attack this Pokemon again and hopefully take it down. His Hoppip was doing better than the Wooper or rather that it had gotten lucky tahnh it did with the Wooper. This was it. He could take down the Wooper with just Hoppip. Just a little bit more was needed.

“Do it, Hoppip” he said excitedly.

“Hoppip!” the Hoppip cried out as it once again focused on the foe. It froze in place and lost its concentration completely. The paralysis got to it this time.

The Slowpoke didn’t even seem to notice the rather pitiful screech attack at all and turned to just ram into the bug again with zen headbutt. It couldn't do anything to the bug Pokemon as the ram attack had no force behind it.

[Tane Flight]

It was clear that this battle would soon be over, Tane could see that the Slowpoke was tired, yet his Joltik was still lively.

"Alright, Blitz! Lets finish this off!" Tane said enthusiastically to his Pokemon.

Blitz latched onto the Slowpoke again and bit down, draining the health from the slow Pokemon, healing himself and finishing the battle.

Psh! Wooper wasn't letting this Hoppip go that easily, the Pokemon had been paralyzed and couldn't finish him off. No, Wooper wouldn't allow himself to faint just yet. He attacked again, shooting mud at the Hoppip violently.

[Virgil]

Hoppip went ahead and tried to attack the Wooper again, knowing full well that if the next attack hit then it would be over, and did so without the consent of her temporary trainer. Or well temporary until he found a ball to put her in. She did decided to do something that her trainer hadn't told her before. She was able to attack this time, the paralysis not getting to her, and so she rammed straight into the Wooper. The wooper tilted over and fell flat on his belly. The Hoppip went back to the one that befriended her. She was still hurt pretty badly from that Wooper's attacks.

"Great job, Hoppip. You pulled through" Virgil said positively.

"Dude, Chance, that was pretty cool." Tane said, laughing a little, now that the wild Pokemon had left. Those Pokemon were nothing, but still..."That wooper sure knew how to give you and your Hoppip a hard time. He almost took down your Hoppip."

Blitz climbed back onto Tane's head, happy to feel taller again. He nuzzled into Tane's hair and waited for whatever would happen next.
