Heaven and Voodoo were startled beyond belief at the sudden noise and appearance of a Ponyta and her rider. That had been completely unexpected and the dust they had kicked up sent the girl into a coughing fit, the Zorua sneezing on her shoulder, as she tried to fan the grit away from her face. It seemed, from the way the guy was speaking to the Ponyta, that they had been racing, and, in fact, had won. She brushed her green streaked black bangs out of her face as the dust fully settled.
She was even more startled when the guy, Pegasus he said his name was, grabbed her hand after he finished introducing himself to her and Andrew. She chuckled nervously, her face flushed, and ignored Voodoo's protesting call of "Zorua!" "Hi, I'm, uh, Heaven and this is Andrew. We're, yeah, we're starting our journey to become trainers." Heaven's brown eyes darted to Andrew to make sure he was still nearby.
She was saved from having to say anything else by the arrival of another female, this one riding on a Keldeo. This must have been the person that Pegasus had been racing. She blinked a few times before she answered, this time a little more firmly. "I'm Heaven, this is my Zorua, Voodoo, and that's Andrew," she said, nodding to the younger boy.

Andrew hadn't been paying attention to the path behind him. Instead, he'd been looking through the tall grass on either side of the road, hoping to see more wild pokemon. At the last minute, his Dratini wrapped her tail around his leg and pulled him out of the way. He fell as she did, and as the ponyta galloped past, it's hooves came within inches of one of his arms.
As the ponyta's rider leapt off of it's back, and crossed his arms and frowned. The guy had been utterly reckless. If dratini hadn't pulled him out of the way, he could have very well been killed by the horse pokemon's sharp hooves.
"Thanks, Tini," Andrew said, stooping down to give his dragon a pat on the head. She started to smile, then huffed and glared at the ponyta rider. Andrew straightened himself and stood, arms crossed, and said,"you really should be more careful, you know. You almost ran me over."
As he finished speaking, a red haired girl riding on another horse-like pokemon came barreling out of the brush, so closed he jumped back, stumbled over his own feet, and landed on his butt hard. As the small pony pokemon came to a stop by the ponyta, Dratini let out an angry cry at it for endangering her trainer.
"Why is everyone trying to run me over today?!" Andrew said as he got to his feet and Heaven introduced them both to the new girl,"Nice to meet you I suppose....would've been nicer to not get run over."
He looked over at her pokemon, which he hadn't been able to get a good look at before, and his eyebrows went up in surprise.
"You have a Keldeo....," he said to her, puzzlement evident in his voice,"and you lost a race against a Ponyta? Keldeo is supposed to be faster than Ponyta though....."

Pegasus' face practically beamed when he heard her name. "Well ma'am.,I have ta say that name fits just perfect with a pretty little thang like yourself. It's a pleasure ta meet ya, Miss Heaven" he responded back to her. He was just about to speak to Andrew when his opponent finally showed up. He grinned over at her, not realizing he hadn't let go of the girl's hand quite yet.
When she finally began speaking, he slowly and very gently let go of Heaven's hand and walked over toward her with Ponyta walking next to him. "Well ma'am, I do believe I proved my dear Ponyta can run with the best of 'em. Hmmmm?" he said, patting Ponyta's side gently. "Ponyta" she said quietly in an appreciated response. Pegasus rested his arm on Ponyta and leaned against her. Ponyta turned her head to nuzzle against him.
Though when he heard Andrew's words about Ponyta being no match for a legendary Pokemon, he turned his attention to him pretty quick. "Now you just look here. Last time I checked, legendary didn't mean unbeatable. Pokemon racin' ain't all about bein' the fastest and havin' the best Pokemon. It's about your ability, your skills, and your bond with your Pokemon. Ponyta and I got all that and then some. Ponyta nudged him with her head just a little harder out of affection and thanks for defending her. Pegasus scratched her forehead lightly.
With that, he turned his attention back to his opponent and stuck out a hand. "Nothin' against your Keldeo. You two made fine opponents. He seems like a rather playful sort. Hmmmm?" he complimented her. Pegasus was a competitor, through and through, but he wasn't a spoil sport.

Tolouse simply nodded at Heaven as she spoke, closing her eyes and letting her thoughts run freely. Yep, she liked this girl so far. Spoke with a strong voice and said only what needed to be said. One her eyes opened, she smiled and dipped her head, casually leaning against her Keldeo as she introduced herself. "Nice to meet'cha. I'm Tolouse, and this here is Davis." Davis in turn tipped his head back to the girl and her Zorua, glad that his trainer was able to calm down a bit. Well... for now, anyway. All she did regarding her fellow racer's attitude towards Heaven was shake her head.
As the other lad addressed her, the racer simply snorted and shrugged. "Maybe you should watch where you're goin'. We didn't leap into the path of no kids - and I'm pretty sure a normal person would move away from the sound of hooves." Normally she would have left it at that, but... did he just insult her partner?
Suddenly, Tolouse was right up in Andrew's face, leaning on her tiptoes as she glared right into his soul - or so it seemed. "Listen here, little boy. There ain't nothin' wrong with my Keldeo, and he especially ain't no slower than Ponyta. Oh, we got here first all right. Ran around the whole woods for cryin' out loud!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands up and waving them around. "He's just fiesty and decided to take the scenic route and not meet up at the right spot before they finally got here. Davis's got a lotta spirit, and I don't always feel the need to hold that back." The Keldeo whinnied and reared back then, pawing at the air and tossing his head about as Tolouse's anger seemed to rise, also proving her point. She smirked at the trainer before leaning back on her heels and crossing her chest, turning to go stand beside her pokemon once more.
"He's right too, though, I hafta admit. Racin' ain't just about havin' the fastest pokemon. I've seen an Electrike beat an Arcanine, the 'ol hound even using Extremespeed as he got whooped. It takes a lot to win, and the person who doesn't think so doesn't deserve to be in the racin' field." She glanced over to Pegasus and Ponyta from the corner of her eye, studying them for a moment. Sure, she didn't like to admit that the person who was becoming her rival was right, but Tolouse would always stand for the truth over some sporty banter. Davis nudged his nose under her arm and swished his tail to distract her, earning him a pat on his shoulder. Now then... where were they?
"Well, I hate to be brash, but I don't think I wanna stand here and day and shoot the breeze" she announced, stretching her hands out in front of her. "Need ta get goin'. Where you fellas headed to anyway?" Oh, seemed pretty boy was talking again. Tolouse arched a brow and turned towards Pegasus, flashing a toothy grin his way. "You'll think playful when we beat ya next time" she joked, a challenging tone still lingering as she spoke. Jeez, he'd really have to stop that 'hmm' business soon.

Heaven laughed nervously, trying to tug her hand away from Pegasus. No one had ever really paid her this much attention in a long while. Oh sure, everyone in Blizzara had told her how sorry they were when Nana had died, and she was sure they had done the same when her parents had died when she was a baby, but they hadn't paid any attention to her. Growing up, they may have yelled at her to stop running across their yards or made a comment or two about how it was obvious that Lia couldn't raise another child, but that was all they ever said. She had thought that she would like attention, she did whenever she managed to talk Crissa, her Nana's Natu into defeating wild pokemon, but she wasn't sure she liked this. "I'll just take that back now," she managed to force out, another nervous titter breaking the air as she glanced around her.
"Zorua!" <Let go> Voodoo said sternly, as he tried to shimmy his way down his trainers arm to swat at the man's hand. Heaven was his trainer, and even though they'd only just met, she was nice to him, and he was going to protect her.
Unfortunately, Voodoo misjudged the distance and tumbled off of Heaven's arm. "Voo!" The girl exclaimed, pulling her hand free from the Racer and dropping to her knees to catch the small fox. She righted herself, the Zorua clutched in her arms as she straightened. "Sorry about him," she said sheepishly to Pegasus.
She watched, eyes growing wide as the two racers turned on Andrew and began to sternly lecture them. "Remind me not to get on their bad side," She muttered to Voodoo, who agreed with a soft, "Zor". She turned her attention back to Toulouse, and blinked once before she replied. "Uh, we're going to Gustella town to challenge the gym leader there. You two are welcome to come with us if you'd like."

Andrew frowned at Pegasus as he lectured about how Legendary pokemon weren't unbeatable in races. He had taken what Andrew had said the completely wrong direction. Then the girl got in his face, and he took a step back, glaring at her. He hated it when someone got right in his face like that.
"First off, back up. You can make your point without trying to touch noses," he told her,"Second, I wasn't insulting anyone. I just know that Keldeo has been marked as being 20% faster than Ponyta. I just know nothing about racing. There's no reason to be jerks about it."
Andrew looked down at Dratini as he finished speaking. The little dragon was making her way towards the racer-girl. It took Andrew a few moments to notice it, but he could see her building up electricity for her Thunder Wave attack...which he didn't doubt she would use on the girl. Muttering a curse under his breath, he returned the dragon to her pokeball before she could start trouble.
"If you two don't mind, I'd like to get back to trying to find some pokemon. Tag along if you want," he told the two racers with stiff politeness in his voice. He then walked off with Dratini's pokeball in hand to continue looking for wild pokemon...

Pegasus wanted to argue the point that he wasn't the one who started this and he wasn't the one being the jerk about stuff. First the boy complains about being run over, then he says Keldeo shouldn't have lost to Ponyta, then he just tried to cover up what he just said with some sort of fact or another. This one certainly needed to watch how and what he said or he wouldn't be making friends very easily at all.
Pegasus turned toward Tolouse. She was the fiery, feisty sort it seemed. "Whatcha say, little lady? Not like we got anythin' better ta do until the next race. Hmmmm." Pegasus directed at her. Pegasus looked down at a medal he had pinned on him. It was for third place, but it was his and Ponyta's first race. He was proud to finish at all, but somehow Ponyta mustered the energy to place.
He looked over at Heaven who had apologized earlier about her Zorua. "Don't you worry about it, darlin'. Little feller is just protective of his lady. Can't say I blame 'im" Pegasus commented, trying to ease her. He thought about Gustella for a moment before finally responding. "A gym battle in Gustella, eh? Well I can't pass up watchin' one of 'em" he commented, waiting for the group to head toward Gustella Town.

Without touching noses, eh? Tolouse chuckled and eyed the Dratini as she approached, noticing a certain... glow about her that nearly made her nervous. She didn't have too much experience with Electric pokemon, but she knew what a threat looked like. Really, these people were too defensive and paranoid. What, afraid of what might happen when someone did get in their face? That was all the more amusing to her. She'd touch noses if she wanted to! However, the boy admitted he was wrong, so she backed off. No sense in kicking a dead horse, right? Davis nickered and stared down hard at the Dratini before she was recalled, turning and facing the way they'd came while glancing over at Ponyta. He wondered if she'd be up for another race...
"Ehhh.... guess you're right. I reckon there'd be no harm in following theses kids around until the next race" she shrugged, answering Pegasus and kicking at the ground. Suddenly, she reached around in her bag and pulled out a pair of headphones, clicking through the songs on her mp3 and adjusting them on her head so one ear was still free in case she needed to hear someone talk. After that... well. She ignored the whole world and stood beside her Keldeo, nudging him and walking off after Andrew. The racer would proooobably keep a close eye on him, if only to be annoying and get some amusement from it.
"Oh, and sorry I couldn't be there to see y'all's big finish" Tolouse said, looking back to the tall blonde. "Heard you 'n Ponyta placed. Not too shabby for yer first race."

Heaven exhaled a breath she didn't even know she'd been holding when everything returned to normal. She hadn't expected anything to come to blows, but it was nice knowing that everyone was calm again. Of course, if a fight, physical or verbal, had broken out she was pretty sure she could handle herself. hadn't she always gotten in trouble for being too loud and too quick to throw the first punch? Thankfully, it seemed like Voodoo was the ask questions first kind of Pokemon. She absently patted his head at the thought.
"You're first race?! And you placed?! That's amazing!" Heaven exclaimed, hugging the fox close to her chest. She had a feeling that she would be lucky to make it past her first gym battle on the first go. She stared at the blond, half in envy and half in wonder. He had to be around her age and it seemed like he was already off to a great start. Well, she thought, trying to placate herself, it seemed like he had just started out recently as well, so she wasn't too old to be starting out at 20. She began to follow after Andrew, on the look out as always, Voodoo clutched to her chest.

Andrew walked ahead of the others, separated from the group as they walked along Route 801. He couldn't believe those two, just running in, nearly running him over, and then blaming it on him. With Pegasus, it wasn't entirely the racer's fault since Andrew had just been standing in the road and not paying attention. With Keldeo-girl, though, he didn't see how her barreling out of the undergrowth with no warning was his fault in any way.
He also understood, though, that the two racers were not likely to see things his way, or even admit it if they did. He knew that if he didn't want to have a crappy journey, he'd need to make apologies of his own, regardless of who was right or wrong. An apology by itself, though, likely wouldn't be enough. So, he pulled out his Town Map and looked at Route 801 for likely spots wild pokemon would gather.
It didn't take long for him to find one: there was a small creek with a pond with a side-trail leading to it just ahead. The creek and pond were both too small to hold any water pokemon, but the water would make a good gathering spot for other wild pokemon trying to get a drink. Town Map still in hand, Andrew turned around and looked at the two racers.
"Hey, you two, we got off on the wrong foot. I'm sorry about that. But I think i found something that could make up for it all. See, here?" He said, holding the map out to show them the creek," there's a side trail just ahead that goes by a small creek and a pond. It's bound to be a gathering spot for thirsty pokemon around this route trying to get a drink. Since we're all just starting out, I think we could all stand to add to our teams. I think we should go check it out. What do you think?"

Pegasus grinned at Tolouse. Did he hear her right? She complimented him? "Well much obliged little lady. Only regret is that we weren't racin' ya along with them other folk. Hmmm." Pegasus responded back. He then turned to face Heaven as she congratulated him. He gave a slight bow and smiled brightly at her, blonde hair moving a bit with a sudden gust of wind.
"Ponyta and I thank ya, kind lady. Ponyta didn't get the best start, but she finished like a true champ." he said to her. He then patted Ponyta on her side. "This little one is somethin' special. Not many could bravely finish the race with a feller like me on her back." he complimented his Pokemon. Ponyta snorted and lowered her head before lovingly nudging against him. "Alright there girl. Alright. I love ya too, darlin" Pegasus chuckled.
Pegasus climbed atop Ponyta to ride once again. Alongside the group, it was some time before Andrew chimed in an apology. "Well, we'll just say that's water under the bridge feller. I accept the kind apology. Takes a big man to do that. And I reckon I apologize for bein' a bit stern and lecture-like. Ponyta is a hard workin' gal that can run with the best of 'em. And she's been with me since I started travlin' years ago startin' in the Kanto region. I'm quick to defend my little lady", he responded back, patting Ponyta's neck.
When Andrew pointed to a spot where wild Pokemon might appear, Pegasus shrugged. "Sure. I'm not one for really catchin' them critters or trainin' Ponyta, but ya never know. Now that I'm involved in all this racin' stuff, some more teammates could come in handy for Ponyta and I." Pegasus said. It was true. Ponyta would only be good on land. Catching a big water type Pokemon and Flying type Pokemon, both that he could ride, would do wonders for him. Unfortunantly he wasn't really into the coaching aspect of racing. So unless he changed his mind, it'd really limit him on who he would want to add to his team.

Even though she was mostly turned away from the group and now had her headphones on, Tolouse couldn't help but peer over and continue to watch the rest of the group interact. Well... it was mostly Heaven and Pegasus at this point. She'd rolled her eyes when he replied to her specifically, but as she looked over to see the other girl swoon over his win, and combined with the gust of wind blowing her fellow racer's hair... good Arceus it was too much. She looked forward and cackled, nearly doubling over at the sight of all the fawning. However, once Andrew came speeding back from deeper within the route and began showing them his map, she gently grabbed a fistful of Davis' mane and redirected him to turn around.
More wild pokemon around a pond? Curious, Tolouse tilted her head and glanced back from where he came. Hm... that was pretty good thinkin'. Made sense. However, you could lead a Ponyta to water, but you couldn't really make 'em drink. The teen had already been there once... what if the pokemon suspected they'd come back and already fled the scene? They'd probably have to wait it out to a degree. Crossing her arms, she eventually shrugged and turned back to their destination. So much for feeling the wind through her hair... if she wanted to battle, Davis would fair better if she wasn't on his back.
"Apology accepted, I reckon. But we prolly won't be seein' none of 'em for a good--"
"Pidgey!"
"Well then, nevermind. Looks like he led 'em right to us" Tolouse snorted, rolling her sleeves up as two birds darted down from the trees, an Abra and Budew following. Not that she really cared that wild pokemon had found them - she could use some action. They'd followed Andrew, it seemed, but they didn't look too keen on allowing the group to go any further. Keldeo snorted as well and pawed at the ground, ready to get this show on the road. "Hold on buckaroo. Let's let the others pick first - we've gotta be polite around these'uns" she said, arching a brow and smirking. It didn't matter to her, anyway. None of the four really caught her attention.

Heaven was surprised to see more wild pokemon so quickly. She had just caught Sting, after all. Of course, she wasn't going to say no to another pokemon on her team. She grinned widly. "Wellm Andrew, looks like you know what you're talking about after all. Let's do this Voodoo." The little Zorua jumped down out of his trainer's arms, growling slightly as he stalked up to the Pidgey.
"Voodoo! Use scratch!" The little fox darted at the Pidgey, ready to inflict damage on it.

But wait! There's more! Act now and we'll throw in these two little guys absolutely free! That's a 20 pokedollar value absolutely free! Just pay shipping and handling. Bursting through the bushes nearby were a Crystal Houndour and Winter Eevee. Both of them were happily playing with a couple of round items they had found along the trail. They weren't paying attention and ran right into Heaven. "Eev!" the white colored Eevee called out. "Dour!" the other called out. Nearby Heaven were the two round objects the Pokemon were playing with. Both of them were empty pokeballs the duo had found. All Heaven would need to do was pick the two empty pokeballs up and use them. The unique duo looked like they had been knocked out cold from the crash into Heaven. Andrew didn't even notice the pokemon following him as he made his way back to the others. They must've been hiding in the grass nearby, and he'd disturbed them. They really did all seem disgruntled. He looked over at Heaven as she sent her Zorua out against the Pidgey, so he gripped his pokeball and sent Dratini out in a flash of white light.
"All right, Dratini, let's do this! aim a Dragon Pulse attack at that Abra! Let's catch this one!"
Dratini looked back at him, seemingly annoyed by his excitement, but then obeyed her trainer's commands and sent a blast of draconic energy at the psychic type....
[RESULT: 9]
The Abra, who seemed caught off guard by the attack, was sent absolutely sprawling, knocked off its feet and landing right smack on its stomach as it gathered icy energy around its hand for an Ice Punch attack. Andrew wasted no time. He reached around into his sling bag and pulled out a pokeball, and tossed it at the psychic type pokemon.
The ball wobbled once....twice.....thrice......and then stopped, the red glow on the button of the ball dimming down to nothing. The boy grinned and let out a cry of joy.
"We did it Dratini! You see that?! We caught an Abra!" he said, rushing forward and picking up the dragon-type, who just seemed uncomfortable through the whole situation....
