Den sat on a rock within Route 801 and glared at his new partner, said Magnemite had not even thought about saying anything, the Pokemon defiantly wasn't like most happy-go-lucky Pokemon that Den had to deal with back at home. This one obviously didn't care for talking much and seemed to have a very serious attitude. The atmosphere surrounding the two was defiantly not the most pleasant one, the wild Pokemon were currently staying away from the two as they settled their differences.

'This Pokemon hasn't even bothered to be a bother, whats wrong with it, better yet, whats wrong with me? I shouldn't even give a care about it, I should be glad in fact.' Desiding staying quiet and glaring at the magnetic ball wouldn't do anything, Den called out to his Pokemon. "Hey listen, I don't like you and I could care less what your opinion of me is. Don't expect us to become friends or anything, ok? Good. Now that's settled I might as well give you a name since calling you Magnemite constantly is gonna piss me off." The Magnemite watched his trainer with serious eyes as he listened to the boy's ranting. "..." Den took notice of the Magnemite being focused on him, creepy thing. Den groaned annoyingly at the attention. To bad he can't name his Pokemon 'Freak' or 'Annoying metal thing' without getting yelled at by other people for 'abusing' his Pokemon. Like it matters, the things probably can't feel anyway. I mean seriously! Its a ball of metal, the thing probably doesn't have the nerves to feel pain, or even emotions at that!

The trainer and the Pokemon continued to have a stare down for a few more minutes "I have decided to call you Ryu, if you don't like it, deal with it." Den finally stated waiting to hear a response from his newly named Pokemon. Instead though Ryu just nodded and gave no reply. Den gave another irritated sigh, this proves it. Pokemon are annoying when they talk AND when they're quiet. Speaking of Pokemon and quiet, where the heck are all the annoying wild Pokemon that usually run around these Routes? Den got off his rock and looked around the Route for something other than his Pokemon.

"What a coincidence to have your pokemon named after a character from the 'Street Fighter' game series. The way one expresses their naming the pokemon, they begin to look inward at themselves as men. This was taught to me by a greater man than I; a Ransei Warlord named Nobunaga." a calm voice said a few meters by the nearest tree. As it turns out, the infamous collector of information had been reclining on a bush, his Grimer; Nebilim, the man himself, craftily disguised as Zexion, was looking at the young man with something akin to self respect.

"Allow me to properly introduce myself... I am Ryuusei. Ryuusei Von Dragmire, the 'evil king of the shooting star' from Ransei. I am honored to make your aquaintence kiddo." Ryuusei said, twirling the pokeball his grimer came in on the tip of his pointer finger.

Den imminently turned to the voice coming from a patch of trees near where he stood and clenched his fist. Someone stood there speaking things that Den could care less about, something about names and some guy before giving his name and spinning a Pokeball on his finger. The man who was speaking to him was apparently called Ryuusei, but why would Den care and what was this guy going on about being honored.

"Name's Den, Den Cannon, what the heck do you want?" Den asked not pleased on the new company in front of him. Ryu had stopped staring at his trainer and slowly turned towards Ryuusei, staring almost lifelessly at the new person in front of him and his trainer, not bothering to say anything as there was nothing to be said.

"It is interesting to see someone like you going on a journey, being of sound mind, I thought it would be best to give you fair warning, Gym battles will be no easier than normal trainer battles." Ryuusei said, hoping off of the bush, his Zexion disguise vanishing and turning to the traditional guise that Ryuusei was famed for when he was in the traveling circus.

"And as for what I want, I wish to see you achieve greatness, become champion so that you may prove yourself as a better person that can be respected. And to that end, I wish to test you. I challenge you to a match, Your Magnemite against my Grimer, do you accept?" Ryuusei said, giving young Den a most ominous look that said that he was going to give his all for the first time. His Grimer, Nebilim happily clutching its master's leg with affection.

Ryuusei began explaining stuff that Den couldn't really understand, this guy was saying something about warning him that gym battles are not easier than trainer battles, no duh!, suddenly Ryuusei had changed forms, this creeped Den out a little, the silvery blue haired look was much better in Den's opinion, now the other man looked like a creeper.

Suddenly the topic changed to answering Den's question, what Ryuusei wanted, the guy was saying something about greatness and being a champion, who cares about being a stupid champion. Den didn't want to be here in the first place! Before Den knew what was happening, Ryuusei suddenly challenged him to a battle. Nothing seemed to make since in the Pokemon world, the Pokemon or the People, they were both messed up "Er...Ok?" Was all Den really could say from the confusing story he just had to listen through.
