With Professor Conifer's lab among the buildings of Dust Town, the place must have seen quite a collection of characters. Gabriel was simply one of many off-kilter individuals to pass through. He was, however, hard to ignore as the young man wandered down the road. Occasionally he would do a short jig or spin a few times. The time did not seem to be a factor in his travels as he paused here and there to stare or poke at something and then mumble about something with a wave of his hand. Speaking of his hands, they busied themselves with the making a circlet out of flowers picked from the side of the path.
Eventually he was left with a nice colorful crown that was then placed over his hat. Quite a nice look in his opinion but certainly not usual. Just in time to see the Professor. Gabriel's entrance into the town was hardly dramatic. He glanced around, studying the few buildings there were as he passed by. A few people waved politely and he returned the nicety. His mother had raised him with manners, she had. Gabe slowly ambled up to the lab entrance and stared at it for a moment. "Well, no idea what to expect so I guess I'll expect the unexpected." He said to no one specific before proceeding through the lab's door.
Once inside, Gabriel approached the woman he saw and stuck out a hand. "Hello, ma'am. I'm Gabriel Kingsley, a breeder, and I would very much appreciate it if I could receive a couple pokemon today." (I would really appreciate it if the person who does reply provides a list of the pokemon offered since I'm not very familiar with them. Thank you.) |

Professor Conifer was very involved in her work as she sat at a computer, typing away. Currently she was doing some research on Magmar. The fire Pokemon was her current curiosity of the moment. When Gabriel entered the lab, the Professor didn't even notice he had done so. Usually she tried to stay constantly aware if any newcomers to the lab arrived, but she just got so wrapped up in her research. When Gabriel did approach her and begin speaking to her, she jumped just a bit. "Oh sorry. Didn't see you come in." She looked around the room briefly. Surely Ranny would have given attention to a newcomer in the lab, especially if she wasn't paying attention. Finally locating Ranny, she shook her head as she noticed the Suicune was taking a nap in a corner of the lab. "Anyway. My name is Professor Conifer and it's a pleasure to meet you. If you'll follow me to the back of the lab, we'll get you started." She said as she stood up from the chair and shook Gabriel's hand. She then walked to the back of the lab where the starter Pokemon were. Ranny wouldn't be following her today. The Suicune wanted a nap instead. When they got to the back of the lab, the Professor began to explain. "So we already know you will be a Breeder. This means you get two starter Pokemon. There are a line up of six Pokemon that you can see. Off to the side are three mysteryballs that could hold literally anything inside of them. Many choose them for the surprise of just what they could get. After you have chosen your two starters, you can choose your equipment on that wall over there. As a Breeder, you will not get pokeballs. You will get a scarf that gives the Pokemon wearing it extra experience points from battle." When the Professor was finished explaining, she stood off to the side to allow the Breeder to choose what he wanted. 1. Snivy  2. Charmander  3. Piplup  4. Dratini  5. Trapinch  6. Gabriel grinned apologetically at the professor when she jumped a little out of surprise. "Sorry, ma'am. Didn't mean to startle you." He followed a polite distance behind her, eyes jumping here and there as they walked to the back area of the lab. What choices would he have? Gabe had heard that not every new traveler was presented with the same selection of starters with the added bonus of one mystery ball if they chose. He had already decided that he would choose one and let the surprise... well, surprise him.
Gabriel nodded as Professor Conifer spoke and when she finished, first approached the supplies. He reached for the second bag and turned grab the scarf to place it in one of the pockets. Next went the white pokedex that was careful stored along with the scarf. After making sure everything was secure, Gabriel turned to look at the available pokemon. "Goodness. There are so many of them. How am I suppose to choose only two?" He chuckled. Every trainer, breeder, and the like knew he or she would have to make this decision, but that did not make it any easier.
"Dratini, I will choose you." Gabe spoke after silently weighing the pros and cons of his choices. He carefully picked up the pokemon and placed it on the ground beside him before reaching over and grabbing the center mystery pokeball. "This one is my second choice." He casually tossed it into the air, releasing whatever he had chosen as his second companion. Surprises were so much fun. |

The Dratini curled up his serpentine like body around Gabriel's arm while their mystery party member was revealed. "Bagon!" was heard loudly as the mystery Pokemon made her presence known immediately upon release from the mysteryball. "Now you're free to start your journey! Good luck!" the Professor said, kindly wishing the man good luck on his journey.
