- Amy begins attending school. She is either made fun of or ignored due to her height and birthmark
- Amy's parents hire a tutor to home school her
- Amy begins learning about pokemon and is immediately interested
- Amy befriends her first pokemon, a Vulpix she found in her backyard and begins raising it in secret
- Amy's secret is discovered by her tutor, who agrees to keep her secret and helps her properly care for the Vulpix
- Amy's tutor presents her with a Fire Stone, which is immediately used to evolve the Vulpix into a Ninetales
- The new Ninetales begins to show signs of restlessness and boredom. Understanding what it wants, Amy releases it back into the wild.
