Standing at 5'2", Jayne isn't the tallest man around, though he likes to pretend otherwise. He weighs around 140 pounds, though the majority is pure muscle. Jayne has only the slightest amount of fat on him. Jayne can usually be found wearing a black tank top and black trousers. Over the tank top he has a long sleeved black jacket that ends just over his belt, which is secured only be a single clasp up by his throat. He also wears white gloves on his hands, which extend up to just shy of his elbows under the jacket. His boots are black as well, though they have two inch thick red soles to try and boost his height. Over all of this he wears a bright read, long sleeved cloak that ends at his upper calves. This cloak also has a hood to it he usually leaves to hang down behind him, allowing him to cover his head in case of rain.
Jayne had bright golden eyes that show his intelligence, and seem to miss little. His bright blond hair is usually kept in a braid ending just past his shoulders in order to keep it out of his face, though occasionally, when in a hurry, he forgoes braiding it and simply pulls it into a ponytail. He also carries a black bag over his left shoulder where he carries all of his supplies, other than his team's Pokéballs around his waist. His red cloak has very deep pockets which store his books, journal, and writing tools.
Under his clothes is the body of someone in amazingly great shape. Jayne enjoys martial arts, and is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, as well as with weapons. While he is thin, he is well muscled, all of them compact and strong, showing a person who has become strong from actual work, not a gym. Combined with the fact that Jayne has a great deal of energy, this is one powerful young man. Though his unarmed martial arts are strong, he is just as skilled in armed combat. Because of this, he carries a collapsible metal staff in his cloak pocket. It extends from six inches in his pocket to a full five feet when needed, and it durable enough he can use it to vault over most obstacles that are less than seven feet tall.
Personality:
Jayne is a relatively serious, studious young man. He can often be found with a book in one hand, a journal in another as he reviews material. Any time he is in a town he can be usually found in the local library looking up ideas for an appeal, or just outside the town practicing with his team. He enjoys trying to create unique, beautiful appeals, but doesn't mind loosing.
Jayne is also relatively, touchy, about his height. Not being the tallest person around, he reacts badly to someone pointing out that he isn't the tallest male around. So, unless you want him angry at you? Don't point it out. Just, don't. It won't end well, really.
He also happens to be a kind kid, when not angry at people, and enjoys helping others out when they need it. His Pokémon are precious to him, and he loves taking care of them and making sure that they're safe. Jayne also finds enjoyment in bathing and grooming his Pokémon, knowing they need it in order to become the best team they can be. He is a bit, overconfident, however, and can often be found with a smirk on his face, unless he is deep in concentration.

Jayne was born and raised in Fallarbor Town, in the Hoenn Region. The son of a pair of farmers, the majority of his exposure to Pokémon was the family's farm Pokémon, those that they raised either for food or to help around the farm. For years, it looked like becoming a farmer was all that Jayne was destined for. Just, Jayne didn't want to become a farmer. Not that he knew what he did want to be, though. He found himself researching in the library, trying to find an alternative, but he never found anything that drew his interest.
One thing that got his interest was training in martial arts, though his interest has led him to never settling on a single combat style. Instead, Jayne has mostly made a style of his own, a blend of several others that few can pick apart into its base elements. Ever since he was six he's been busy training, which has led him to being in amazing shape and having exceedingly high endurance. His style is a mix of both armed and unarmed combat, allowing him to adapt to just about any situation. This adaptability is something that will work well for him in the future.
However, other than farming, Fallarbor is also known for one of the Hoenn region's Contest Halls. Jayne found that he was drawn to the hall, watching the different contests take place and being thrilled by them. Almost immediately, he was hooked. After that, the young man started spending more and more time within the town library, researching the history of coordinators, and how to become one. The more he read about coordinators and contests, the more interested in becoming a coordinator he became. Now, he's ready to start his journey toward the Grand Festival of the Varaia Region.
