Personality: Jess is a rather odd fellow, always looking at the world in philosophical way while talking like an insane person. Even his attention span is as active as a pup's, constantly being distracted by something else new or not. (He even gestures what he talks about sometimes... That's actually quite a funny sight to see.) Though you can never tell when he's being serious or playful. He's also patient despite his oddness and when he does try to rush he doesn't do it forcefully but rather just reminds himself or those around him that they need hurry every other minute. He's also not one for long-term goals as he will give up on something that seems to complicated. And yet he can also be called a 'genius' just in a different way.

Jess was born in the city famous for its contests to a contestor mother and a shop-keeper father. He had no siblings and yet the boy wasn't pampered like one would think. But it wasn't because he was neglected, oh goodness no. His parents would try to fawn over him for every waking moment and yet the boy himself declined almost all of their attempts to try and appease him. This was apparently happening since he was three, when he was first able to think and speak. As a child the only time he would ask for something is when he was hungry or thirsty or the like but other than that he never asked for toys or other necessities. Everyone around him found that odd and soon enough people began to avoid him as he got older.
When he was about ten, Jess had grown a very complex mind. It was probably because of his strange views on just about everything around him that he hardly made any friends. Well he really didn't have friends, just kids who found his oddness to be interesting to hang around him. None of those kids hung around very long. Yet his lack of companionship never seemed to bother him. At age fifteen, he went to the contest hall with his parents (after they had to practically drag him there) and that's where in the first time in his life that he found something he wanted to achieve. He watched as pokemon danced their battle dances and was intrigued by the delicacy behind it all. So after four years later after finally managing to get his parents to part with him he made his way to the place where he had heard every pokemon in the world lives.
