well i just wanted to come by 1 last time and say that it was nice talking to u guys but im quitting the site. I have had a request up for a week, i have seen the admins on here everyday just talking about pokemon games and all sorts of stuff. But they cant seem to look at there own forum and post and do stuff for the members that rp here, which kinda seems like only me and Spirit right now.
If you gonna create a RP forum make sure u actually pay attention to what is going on for the members. 1 week is a long to to wait when NO ONE else is posting and the admins are on the cbox daily doing nothing for the site.

^ We're not only about RPing, we're also a tight-knit group of friends who consider each other family. As such when we experience downtime like this, it separates the people who are here to have fun and be apart of something from the glory hounds.
Just because an admin is online, that doesn't mean you are entitled to demanding we work on YOUR request. We don't come here to work tirelessly, we come here to have fun and enjoy ourselves. Yes, this means that we ACTUALLY neglect our adminly duties on occasion. We have lives outside of Varaia, and we happen to like sharing it with our friends, regardless of whether or not they get a starter that second, or even that day. How dare you suggest that we do nothing for the site, you don't know the half of what we put into this place from the start, nor do you see what we do for it on a daily basis. Advancing a plot or a thread is only PART of an admin's job, and the rest is creating a FRIENDLY, LAX environment that people can enjoy. You can't say we don't do that when we stop by in the cbox and play around with people.
I`m sorry you don't like the way we operate but frankly, I do. And so does Basile and Dragon and Bay. And the other members who know us don't seem to have a problem. This site lasted for a whole year because people liked the laid-back way we do things and not harp for posts every 5 minutes, and it will last for another year because of that very thing.

I'm responding to this simply so other members will know.
I have said many times in the cbox that if someone needs an admin to do something like hand out starters or wilds or for trainer or gym battles then to just let me know. No one has. But the open invitation still stands. If no one lets me know, then how am I to know?
I'm going to say that Kitty is right and wrong in this. My real life is always going to come first. I've been through a surgery this past march and it hasn't been an easy one to recover from. Out of all the surgeries, this one has had the most frustrating recovery time because I was out of the hospital quick enough but they cut me open from collar bone to sternum, spread my chest open, operated, and then wired and bolted me back together. Bones take a really long time to heal, and even now I'm still not 100 %.
On top of that, I've been on again and off again sick. I've been through at least two lung infections and various other illnesses. So sometimes I just don't feel like roleplaying if I'm not feeling well. HOWEVER, I'm going to tell you now that there have been times when I felt like crap and didn't want to do anything but I did anyway. There are also times when I have to go places or have things to do and simply don't have the time for internet or have internet access at all.
BUT. If someone has ASKED me "Can you post in my thread for a starter/wild/trainer/gym leader?" I always try to get to it as soon as I can. I'm not going to patrol the site at all times. Especially since the more I move around the site, the more likely chatango will crash on me. If chatango weren't so tempermental, I'd be more willing to constantly patrol the site.
I'm not, however, going to shirk my duties and I don't like hearing the term "down time" or taking a break. That's just a frustrating thing to other members that want to play. I'm one of those people. I like to rp when I can and as soon as I can. I'm not hanging up an admin hat just to chat and pal around instead. I can do that anytime. There's plenty of time to chat with other people and really there's nothing saying I couldn't do both if I wanted to have multiple tabs open. Which I usually don't, since chatango is so tempermental.
I would be posting right now, but I have characters that are tied up at the moment because almost all of my characters are tied to one person who is going through a lot of real life problems right now and out of respect to her, I'm remaining patient until she feels like she can rp again.
Until then, however, my time at VS can be wholely focused on the members' needs. And when you have a need, you ask. I'm restating my earlier point. You get ahold of me. You tell me you have something you want me to do. I will then try my best to go and do what I can for you. Because I believe in being a helpful admin as long as something is asked or brought to my attention. Someone just sitting silently in a corner expecting someone to do something for them is not a way to make your needs known.
To any other members, if you have a problem or you need an admin then ask. If no one else is willing to help you, I'm always willing to help where and whenever I can.
