Gerald walked out of the door as he waved goodbye to his cousin. He didn't really have much to say to him. They had already exchanged official goodbyes the day before when they had dinner together. He let out a sigh as he stared at the building furthest from him, the lab. The Professor would be there, waiting to hand out Pokemon, but he was hesitant. Did he go through with this? He shook his head and slapped himself as he knew that he had to go through with it. He had a smile on his face as he pulled down the scarf around his neck. He just liked wearing that scarf despite whatever season of the year it was. He walked down the road and came to the door of the lab. He knocked three times and waited.

Gerald was quite surprised as he saw the Suicune. He didn’t expect that one would be at the lab. Oh wait, this was the Varaia region. He remembered a little from what he read but still it was surprising to him. He followed Conifer inside to where his choices were. He looked at all six of the already determined choices before him and then off to the side at the undetermined choices. All of them could be good choices for him as a coordinator. But what the heck did he choose, all of these Pokemon looked like a good Pokemon for a contest. He was a coordinator.
"There are so many pokemon choices, which two should I choose?" Gerald said amazed.
He turned to look at the other determined choices. He could go for the Pokemon that looked reliable. No. He wanted something that would serve him well. He would go after the Larvitar.
“I’ll choose the Larvitar as my first choice” he said as he pointed at Larvitar.
He went silent after that, he didn’t know why he had said that, and it was probably nothing. He looked over at the mystery balls. He walked up to one of them and picked it up. He didn't release it yet. He walked over to the gear next and collected his equipment, taking the first bag, the pokeballs, the green pokedex, and the other items. He didn't take the scarf as that only belonged to Breeders. He wasn't a Breeder. He put all of the other gear into his bag before setting it to the side. He threw up the mystery ball up into the air to release whatever that lay within its spherical realm.
“Whatever Pokemon that is inside here is my second choice” he replied coolly.

The two Pokemon were now out of their pokeballs. The Larvitar just stood near his trainer casually and not saying a word. The one from the mysteryball, however, began growling at the Larvitar. Larvitar seemed uninterested in the aggression of the other Pokemon. "Aron!" he called out and crouched low. It was pretty clear this was one aggressive little guy. "Well, looks like you'll have your hands full. Good luck on your journey" the Professor said and waved off the young man. Pokemon Name: Larvitar Gender: Male Pokemon Personality: Passive, Indifferent Pokemon Ability: Guts Pokemon Health: 22 Pokemon Level: 5 Move Roster: Bite, Leer, Sandstorm, Iron Head Pokemon Name: Aron Gender: Male Pokemon Personality: Territorial, Aggressive Pokemon Ability: Rock Head Pokemon Health: 24 Pokemon Level: 5 Move Roster: Tackle, Harden, Iron Head

The rode to Dust town was long, but not long as it could of been. The two had gotten temporarily lost. They were in a new region after all, it was only natural that they didn't know their way around. After a good long walk, the twins were finally able to find their way to the designated town, the town that might hold their first Pokemon. "Oh I'm so excited! Our first Pokemon, this is soo awesome! Thanks for letting us go ask for a starter, Zal!" Zola said excitedly as she hurried through the town, Zalmon following close behind. He was highly unsure about the idea of going to some stranger and asking for Pokemon and even more unsure of said person saying yes, but people do this all the time don't they? Zalmon never herd about anyone filling out paperwork or paying for their starters, then again, he never really listened about the topic all that much.
It didn't take the twins too long to discover the lab. Zalmon had to grab hold of Zola's arm to stop her from running over and breaking down the door so she could demand a starter. Now wasn't the time for her wild behavior to get out of hand. "Now remember, Zola, if the professor says no, there is nothing we can do, Ok?" Zalmon reminded his sister calmly, who sighed in response. After agreeing to her twin brother, the two walked up to the lab door and knocked a couple times. "I wonder if the professor is even here. We didn't even bother to check hours or days the lab might be open..."

It'd been a while since Gerald had left, so when the twins came knocking, the Professor was busy doing other things, her eyes locked on one of the many machines in the lab as she watched it whir. Of course, she had no problem peeling herself away from her study to spring towards the door, opening it and smiling wide as she noticed a boy and girl. Handing out starters was definitely one of the perks regarding her job, no doubt about it.
"Welcome! You two are here to start your journey, correct?" She asked, tilting her head. "Either way, please come in. No need to stand out there when what you need is in here!" The woman promptly ushered the twins inside and clicked the door closed behind them, now seeming to be even more excited now that they were inside. "Good. Now... most important are the pokemon. We'll go over that first. I have a pen set up with the normal starters available today near the back - if you go towards the Suicine, you'll be able to see them better."
Ranny flicked one of her ribbons as she was mentioned, beckoning the two closer. Conifer started walking towards her, looking back at Zola and Zalmon expectantly. "We also have Mystery Balls. Those are restricted to one pokeball per person, and you must use caution when choosing! Anything from a Sunkern to an Arceus may pop out, and once you've chosen, there's no going back. Trainers and Racers can choose one partner, while Coordinators and Breeders may have two. Feel free to take your time."

Zalmon was surprised when he and his twin's we taken in so willingly, the woman who was inside the lab had already known they were planing on receiving Pokemon, does this happen that often? Should he ask about the pay or paperwork that might need to be filled out? While Zalmon was trying to decide the catch, Zola on the other hand, was excitedly rushing over towards the Suicune so she could see the pen as well as the legendary of course. The Pokemon inside the pen were adorable and all unique, however non of them really seemed her style all that much
She remembered the mystery balls that Professor Conifer was talking about. There was a chance she would not get something she liked, but there was also a chance of something really good and if her brother got something better, she could probably take his anyway. Zola walked over to the two mystery balls. There was only two, as if they were meant for the twins to have! She grabbed the two mystery balls and threw one of them to her brother, who noticed it being throw at him(thankfully), caught it swiftly and looked at the unique Pokeball, seems like he would not be getting a choice in which Pokemon he chose.
"We'll be taking these!" Zola said excitedly, a big smile on her face from the idea that she would be getting her first starter Pokemon. She loved the chance she was taking with the secretive balls, they could be anything. Oh she couldn't wait! She quickly released the Pokemon from it's contents. Zalmon, sighing at his sister's haste decided he might as well release his Pokemon as well.

The Professor simply stood and waited for them to go on, not in any rush at all as she watched Zola dart right for the pokemon - it was pretty obvious who was more outgoing in the group. Ranny sort of pulled her head back in alarm, relieved when the girl decided to turn towards the Mystery Balls instead. Conifer had to admit, she did see the starters quivering at her excited energy when she approached...
Soon enough, though, two Mystery Balls were opened, and the pokemon were visible. First, for Zola, a small, sparkly blue-ish bug wiggled about, her pincers clicking together cutely before she crawled up her new trainer's leg and smiled. At least, the 'face' on her back was in a smiling position. Her striped legs fidgeted before they began playing with Zola's hair - my my, what an affectionate little thing. Next was Zal's pokemon, and... it was on a rampage. First it fired off bolts of electricity (thankfully, they didn't hit anything), then it began zipping about the lab like mad, screeching and blurting out his name as he caused hyper yet harmless chaos.
"ROTOOOOOOOM!" he squealed, finally bumping into his trainer and staring at him with wide eyes. "Roooooootoooooooom" Ooooooooh. And then, without any further ado, the pokemon floated above Zalmon's head and was upside-down, the top-most point on his body positioned atop Zal's hair as he spun around slowly. Kind of looked like a possessed, rotating Christmas ornament really.
"Oh my" the Professor said, hiding a giggle as she watched the pokemon. "Very well then. Don't forget your items on the way out!"

As the bluish spider appeared, Zola was at first disturbed and disgusted. Ew, its bug, that's no good at all! The spider began crawling closer and closer, it's pincers clicking together. The creature began crawling up her leg, it suddenly stopped and lifted a couple of it's hairy striped legs. The creature's back seemed to have some awkward smile as the spider began to play with her hair. As creepy as this Pokemon was, Zola couldn't help but find the Spinarak friendly as she played with Zola's hair.
Zola turned her head to see what her brother got, she suddenly ducked as a bolt of electricity was aimed her way, a bolt of orange and blue raced around the lab as it screeched and screamed loudly. Suddenly the bullet was stopped as it ran into her brother, squealing it's name in excitement. The strange looking creature began to float on top Zalmon's head and turned upside down and began to slowly spin.
Oh my was right, they defiantly got an interesting batch...It was too late now to take one of the other Pokemon and too late to do much else. The Spinarak climbed up the rest of the way, reaching the top of Zola's hair, nuzzling into her. "Um...Should I ask...? Zalmon asked trying to figure out what his Pokemon was doing, however he could not get the Pokemon to get off his head. Eventually he sighed and gave up.
Zola walked over to check out the items, leaving Zalmon to talk to Professor Conifer. "So do we owe you anything for these Pokemon? I do not know how Obtaining a starter works...." Before any answer could be given, Zola rushed back and gave Zalmon a bag with a long strap, which contained their items. In her hands was a pink Pokedex, of course she would end up choosing the more girly items. "I'm ready to go when you are, Zal!~" She said happily waving the digital encyclopedia around,

Professor watched the two interact with their pokemon, chuckling to herself and shaking her head. She'd never seen a Spinarak to her knowledge, and Rotom... maybe she'd seen one of those before? Nevertheless, she was surprised when her train of thoughts were interrupted by a question from Zalmon. Usually when people got their pokemon they were elated, running to get their bags and start their journey... pretty much like Zola was doing. However, at his question, she simply smiled and shook her head.
"Trainers of any track do not need to compensate for what they're given" she replied, patting his shoulder. "Meaning - everything is absolutely free. No catch. Don't worry about expenses in this new lease on life. Just make sure you enjoy the journey."

Today was full of surprises for Zalmon, not only was Professor Conifer so willing to take them inside and suit them up with not only Pokemon, and some rare items, they were willing to keep everything for free! "Well...Thanks." Was all he could really say, even if he got an insane Pokemon, it was better then nothing and his sister was happy. Nothing more was important at the moment.
"Well, if you two are done talking, let's go!" Zola cheered happily dragging her twin brother out the door, her new Pokemon happily making a braid in her new trainer's hair. The force and speed had managed to throw the Rotom off of Zalmon's hair, which didn't make him too happy, but he found something new to do. Rotom quickly floated over to one of Conifer's desks and grabbed a rubber band, placing around his head as if it was a head band. He then used his electric power to lift a few thumb tacks and raced out the door after his trainer, screeching his name loudly and excitedly along the way.
