The remoraid that Becker spoke of swarmed over the racers, catching multiple angles as the racers prepared the mselves. The clamperl all opened wide, though one closed almost immediately after. Becker adjusted her gear to make sure nothing would fall when the second one closed. The third one closed, and all three racers braced themselves on their pokemon, Becker clutching Milotic's antennae tightly while Gauge held onto Kingdra's horns and Amy held Gorebyss's antenna. The shiny clamperl slammed shut, and the three pokemon were off, the remoraid following closely to catch all of the action.
[RESULT: 2]
Milotic decided to start off slowly and kept a steady pace as she flew through the water, just barely ahead of her challengers.

As soon as the shiny Clamperl closed, Gorebyss had shot off, with Amy clutching the antenna as tightly as she could without hurting the Pokemon. Ahead of her, she already saw that Milotic had the lead over them and urged Gorebyss to keep going as best she could.
[RESULT: 6]
It seemed to have at least some effect on the borrowed Pokemon as she shot ahead past Milotic.

Kingdra sort of jerked as they shot forward, flanking Milotic on the right and weaving here and there to catch what he thought would be better currents. Gauge narrowed his eyes and looked all around for some sort of vantage point, also wondering when exactly he should attack and how long they should hold out. This was a long race, but Kingdra had endurance. How well did Gorebyss fair in that respect? He wasn't really sure. Becker didn't seem to be going at too big of a pace right now, which proved to be a problem - that was his strategy. Either way, he couldn't sit by and do nothing.
[RESULT: 7]
Both he and Amy seemed to do the same thing, shooting off past Becker and her Milotic, he and Kingdra barely taking the lead. It was a good start, but he made sure to keep watch of their opponent behind them as well.

As they raced, Becker inwardly smirked when Amy and Gauge passed them. They just wouldn't take THAT laying down. She leaned forward on Milotic and closed her eyes as the pokemon began spinning, heading towards Kingdra in an aqua jet.
[RESULT: 3]
Milotic rammed Kingdra and knocked it back, sending both racers back as Amy and Gorebyss shot ahead, though Milotic was able to recover and chase after the pair, Becker opening her eyes as the spinning ceased.

Looking behind her, Amy saw Gauge and Kingdra get knocked back and immediately turned her head forward and tried to urge her Pokemon forward. "Come on girl, no pressure. We've just got to get ahead of her before she attacks and knocks us out of the way," she said, unable to keep the worry out of her voice even as she tried to be comforting.
[RESULT: 5]
Thankfully, Gorebyss seemed to respond to the fear from her rider and sped even farther forward to get away from Milotic.

Becker thought she was the only one who recovered? Hah! Gauge pressed himself closer to his mount and held on for dear life as Kingdra spiraled and twisted himself around the attack, using the current off of the Aqua Jet to propel him in front of Milotic. "Now, Kingdra! Turn and use Bubblebeam on Milotic!" Kingdra snorted and thought about it, obeying at the last second.
[RESULT: 10]
Just as he'd hoped, the bubbles slammed into the serpentine pokemon, Kingdra and the breeder being shot even further past their friend AND opponent from the sheer power of the attack. Somewhere in the middle Kingdra turned himself back around and pointed his nose towards the finish line, Gauge's eyes wide. "Eat my bubbles!"

Becker's eyes went wide as she watched Gauge shoot far into the lead. She gritted her teeth against her respirator and snapped Milotic's antennae like reins.
"We can't let them keep this up Milotic. Use Dragon Tail to increase your speed!" She called. Milotic sang as her tail glowed a dark blue and she stretched out as long as she could, pushing herself forward while Becker laid down and hugged her neck to reduce resistance.
[RESULT: 7]
Though it wasn't enough to overtake the pair, not even getting close to Kingdra, Becker and Milotic managed to catch up to Amy and Gorebyss.
"You won't win this easily! We won't let you!" Becker called to them through her mouthpiece.

Amy looked back to see that Becker had caught up with her. "Gorebyss! Do something!" she said desperately as the Pokemon she was riding turned back and looked at the Breeder head. Her eyes glowing a light blue, she tried using Confusion to push the opposing team back.
[RESULT: Miss]
Unfortunately, she just managed to hit one of the Remoraid following them. Hopefully it wasn't filming anything important.

Crap - this wasn't good. Amy and Gorebyss were falling behind and getting closer and closer to being subjected by Milotic's attacks. Gauge leaned his head over and looked down at Kingdra. He.. didn't look like he wanted to stop. "Kingdra, listen. If Amy and I both don't beat Becker, we won't win. It's a waste of time, but--"
Suddenly, they'd turned around and were facing the others, stopped in their tracks as Kingdra fired another Bubblebeam at Milotic to keep her away from Gorebyss.
[RESULT: 10]
Again, some unseen force seemed to be watching over them, because Kingdra's attack consumed Milotic and pushed them even farther back. Gauge was nearly knocked senseless from the power.

Milotic howled as she got pushed back, and Becker's eyes widened at the chivalrous gesture. Blinking a couple times, Becker smirked through her mouthpiece and leaned on Milotic, who was not about to be outdone.
"Very noble of you, but you'll need more than that to beat us! Go Milotic!" Becker called. Milotic sang again as she fanned out her tail in another Dragon Tail, pushing herself through the water to catch up to the others.
[RESULT: 3]
As hard as she pushed, Milotic was still so far behind the others. Becker leaned forward as far as she could to reduce drag. There wasn't much time left, they HAD to finish!

Looking forward to see that Gauge had taken care of forcing Becker back for her, Amy called out her thanks, though he probably couldn't hear her from so far back. "It's okay, you tried your best," she told Gorebyss as the Pokemon tried to catch up with Kingdra.
[RESULT: 1]
While Amy made a bit of headway on getting farther, she could tell it wasn't much.

Gauge sighed in relief to himself as he watched Becker fall behind and struggle a bit to catch up. He patted the Kingdra and hugged him close to also reduce drag, letting the pokemon decide how he'd want to pull the last leg of the race. Kingdra slowed slightly and, knowing what the breeder was implying, took a moment to mull it over.
[RESULT: 9]
Welp, he'd done 'swimmingly' this far. No sense in backing out now. Kingdra continued his pace, albeit it was a tad slower.

This was it. The final push. Becker snapped Milotic's brows one last time and the dragon-like serpent sang, echoing her trainer's feelings. Milotic's eyes glowed as she unleashed a Twister underwater, propelling herself towards the finish line.
[RESULT: 7]
She tried her best, but Milotic was just short of her goal as she crossed the finish line.

Amy tried her best to urge Gorebyss on towards the finish in the hopes that she could maybe pass ahead of Becker.
[RESULT: 2]
Even with the final push, Amy still ended up behind Becker as she and Gorebyss crossed the finish line.

Kingdra and Gauge continued to speed along, Gauge lifting somewhat to look around and even peek at who finished behind him. ...Becker?! Gah! It was a close race - Amy wasn't too far behind.
[RESULT: 3]
And they sailed past the Clamperl rather gently, the breeder pulling back and redirecting Kingdra to face Milotic and Gorebyss when they'd all collected.
