No sooner had Archeops led the first group out of the mines, another group was rarin to go. With a warm smile at them, he ushered them into the dark mine, leading them to the equipment.
"Welcome, take your equipment and start digging please. You keep what you find for yourselves, so dig carefully." He said, fluttering onto Cera's shoulder to watch the group.

Cera grinned and patted the ancient bird, even if she did feel bad to make him turn around and go right back underground. "Thank you, Mr. Bird!" she sing songed, plucking up a helmet and a pick before releasing the blue arcanine from his ball.
"Allllright puppy! Let's dig!"

Archeops was a weird looking pokemon, but that was just Kalin's opinion. She had entered the mines with another person, she didn't care who she just knew she wanted to mine, and promptly the Archeops had told them to take their equipment. Kalin did so faithfully, picking up a helmet and pick too before she released a Slakoth.
"Um...I know you're probably not that good at it, but start diggin', Letho." she said, offering him some encouragement in the way of a smile.

The blue haired Jenny-in-Training let out a sound of triumph as she collected her prize from the hole she and her arcanine had dug. Enthused, she turned away and bounded towards another clear area of the dig.
"Try numbah two!"

Kalin just stared as her Slakoth rushed up to the wall...and then hit the empty air next to it. She resisted the urge to facepalm, and merely sighed at her poor pokemon. "Why don't you uh...try again, Letho?" she suggested of him, and try again he did.

Empty! Well shoot! Cera puffed out her cheeks and absolutely glared at the empty hole. She stamped her foot. How dare that hole be empty! Stupid mine! She'd show it!
Whirling around, she dug the tip of her pick deep into the mine wall.

Her Slakoth missed. Again. She didn't just stare this time; no, this time she lightly hit her head against the nearest wall. Not hard at all of course, just enough to show how ridiculous fate was; why was it so cruel? First she got a kind of...well, silly looking pokemon, and now said pokemon was completely failing at mining. "Just..." she paused and sighed.
"Again, please." clearly, she was displeased with how this was going, but she was trying to hide it.

A little squeal of frustration escaped Cera as once again her hole came up empty. Huff. This was the second time these mines had done this to her. Well! Fine then, she could take the hint! She tossed the pick down and stomped away, her arms crossed over her chest.
Behind her, the arcanine rolled his eyes and dug out the pick before tossing himself down at his trainer's feet.

"This place hates people. I swear to Arceus it hates people," Kalin commented as she stared at the empty hole. At least her Slakoth had managed to DIG this time, but...really, this kind of was terrible. With a glare at the hole, she huffed and turned her back to it, before walking away and plopping herself down on the ground. Her Slakoth stared at her curiously.
"Just...do whatever you want. Carve out the whole tunnel if you want; with the luck we've been having, nothing good will come of it." she said to him. With a nod, the slow pokemon began to try once more to find something in the mines.

Well that certainly was not a surprise, not by now; Kalin watched idly as her Slakoth somehow missed an immobile wall again. Actually, in this case, he had fallen asleep, and only her calling his name caused him to wake back up. Really, this was silly; her next attempt would probably result in a failure as well. But hey, she might as well try. "One more time, I guess." she called out to her Slakoth while she idly chipped at the nearby wall in boredom with her pickaxe.
