"Come on Sala! Faster!" Gear instructed to the Absol, who beat her wings as hard as she could until they reached the lakeside. Once she landed, Gear leaped off of her and ran to the lake itself, reaching his hand into the lake. "The water's really cold," he said happily, moving his arms around under water. "Come on Ki-Ki! Hurry up!" he called to Kain cheerfully.

Kain had decided to walk, taking the chance to observe everything that was around the Route, including the nice foliage and new Pokemon he saw. He didn't want to encounter any since he wanted to save his strength for the upcoming battle. Last time, it hadnt gone exactly well and he only won by the barest of margins. this time though, he hoped to do a lot better.
As soon as he heard Ki-Ki though, his body shuddered a bit. Bad thoughts soon entered his head, although he ignored it, hoping that his suspicions weren't correct... "Alright alright... but im staying out here, not in the mood to swim just yet!" He thought for a second when it clicked in his head also. "Dude, I dont have a water type Pokemon! I think i am going to have to evolve the Eevee sooner than expected..."

"Hmm...Why do you need a Water Pokemon?" Gear asked obliviously as he continued to splash his arms about in the lake. After a few minutes, he finally stopped and laid back on the grass around him with a happy look on his face.

Kain scoffed a bit and pointed out toward the lake, near the middle area of it where a nice river flowed into it. "See that river? The current from that river flows into the lake, sending a powerful yet wide current. Only stable water Pokemon can truly get a handle on it, and we have no chance of getting across until then..." He smiled though. "But for now, i just want to raise up my Pokemon to battle the Torrentia Gym Leader!" Kain grinned a bit and nodded at the still slightly wet Gear. "All right Gear, round two!"

"Yay!" Gear said cheerfully, leaping back onto his feet and releasing his Pokemon at once so that they all stood behind him. "Okay, get ready you guys!" he said cheerfully as they all gave off various roars and growls happily. Once they were done with that, Terry and Nemo stepped forward confidently.

Kain smiled and let loose his newly organized and formed team. Putting a finger to his chin, he looked at the selection group before him, each one nervously doing something or another (except Flare, who snorted loudly, wanting another go at Nemo) Finally Kain thought it would be best for Blitz and Paws to go; Paws to get a feeling for and Blitz to keep her in line. "Alright guys, get out there and strike Terry with a Leech Life and a Winter Rush!" Although Paws was slightly less responsive, she eventually cloaked herself in her attack, Blitz soon behind with his own chompers to land on the Poochyena.

Terry glared angrily at the opposing Pokemon, angry at the two of them teaming up on her more than anything. Raising her head up to the sky, she let out a loud howl.

Nemo on the other hand, decided to take the chance to get an attack in and launched forward with Aqua Jet at Blitz.

A bit unnerved by the howling from Terry, Blitz meant to dodge the aqua jet but hit it just a tad. Luckily it didnt do much at all, but he knew that Paws was going to be tough to handle... already the white Eevee was playing with some grass, even though its winter cloaking was up still. Suddenly, without warning, the Eevee sprang into action and launched herself at the squirtle, shouting, "I DONT WANT THE KANGAROOS ALREADY!" Blitz, although he sweatdropped, took the opportunity to launch himself at Terry with another Leech Life.

Kain sweatdropped himself this time and looked at the double miss that occured. He didn' know exactly what happened there, but he shrugged it off, ordering his Pokemon for their next moves. "Alright, both of you go after Terry again, using the same moves as before!" Essentially a repeat of what happened the first time occured, Paws going in her Winter Rush cloack and Blitz launching at Terry with his Leech Life attack.

"Alright, return Terry!" Gear said as he returned the Poochyena to her Pokeball and Cammie walked out lazily. Looking over at Paws, she fired off a Flame Burst attack at the Eevee. Following her lead, Nemo attacked Blitz with an Aqua Jet in hopes of finishing the bug off.

Kain returned Blitz, feeling a bit sorry for the tiny Pokemon. but immediately he put out Shroud, hoping that she would be able to do some damage this time! "Shroud, use Disable on Cammie! Paws! Winter Rush on Nemo!" Both did as instructed and hoped for the best.
