At first, Adilene had thought the Shuppet she had obtained was cute. She was cute, in her own way; Adilene had even managed to retain some dignity when she had told the trainer to leave her. Her parents had hired him to help get her to Dust Town, and now that she had her own pokemon...well, she wanted to experience a journey for herself, just like what her dad had done, and going along with others wasn't the best way to go along with it.
Sure, you might make friends and have fun out of the whole deal, but there was nothing quite like traveling by yourself along the long, open road. And what a long road it was. Not literally, of course; it seemed long to her because of the Shuppet that was currently cuddling against her again.
"Sheesh...you're kinda possessive, you know that?" Adilene questioned jokingly of the Shuppet, but she seemed offended by the answer, if her mortified stare wasn't an indication. Of course, she was just kidding, and a moment later, she licked Adilene's cheek. Smiling a bit, Adilene rubbed her head for a little while before she took her first steps into the route. Well, not her first since she had gone through the route on the way to Dust Town, but her first as an actual trainer.
"Hope you're ready for this, Nyx!" she told her pokemon as they moved forward, ever wary of anything that might jump out at them.
