Even though it was a nice, normal fall sort of day, the type where most people would be happy, there was a small area of dead silence, following a Pidove running away crying with a large bump on its head.
No wild Pokemon dared to enter this circle, because of the human boy this area was centered around.
Keiran put his book back in his bag, looking very annoyed. His Porygon had stopped orbiting him for the moment and looked slightly scared. He had known something was going to ruin his day, just known it, and no sooner does he step onto the route than a flock of Pidove flies a few feet overhead and bird-splats rain down from the sky.
The Pidove had been lucky to escape Keiran's wrath, and might not have BEEN lucky enough to escape if anything had gotten on his book- luckily, the book had been in his bag at the moment.
And so Keiran started down the route, wild Pokemon fleeing before him after having seen what happened to the Pidove flock (and those not feeling threatened by the book-wielding teen not wanting to be seen around a trainer who was splattered with Pidove poo). Not-A-DJ quickly forgot what the whole thing was about, and started to orbit around Keiran again. He made a mental note not to fight anything ELSE with his book- he DID have a Porygon he could sic on them now. Even if the Porygon was a lower level than the Poochyenas he had fended off around Slateport.

A giggle came forth from the woods, and soon after a thin, yet lanky girl emerged from the brush. Her Chimchar at her side was also chuckling, finding the guy splattered in Pidove poo to be hilarious. "You aren't the brightest light bulb in the shed are you?"
Zherra came close enough to Keiran to finally smell the feces on him, and then came no closer. "I didn't think you'd actually attack them! You don't think things through do you?" Even Mimika, the Chimchar, had to give the guy a strange look.

Keiran's eye twitched. He was not in the mood to be snarked at.
"I've defended myself against much tougher wild Pokemon with this book, thank you, and I do not take kindly to being used as target practice by insolent avians," the boy said.
Assuming that this girl wouldn't want to stick around- he was still very irritated and likely to be more abrasive in attitude than usual, not to mention the bird poo- Keiran started walking ahead. He just wanted to get to the next town so he could clean himself up. He wasn't vain, he just found the scent to be unpleasant, like any sane person would.
His Porygon, however, cheerfully started to do a figure eight orbit around the both of them. Not-A-DJ found this girl cheery and amusing, and wanted to be friends!

Zherra kept following him, intent on her purpose. "I wasn't snarking, just stating what I thought." She wouldn't let him out of her sights, he was far too interesting to let go. "Do you have a name, Sir Gripes-A-Lot?"
The little Chimchar let loose another giggle. Her trainer was so funny, wasn't she? She then noticed the Porygon in orbit around them, her eyes going wide. What was that Pokemon? She'd never seen anything like it before. "Chim?"

"I do not gripe often under normal circumstances. It just so happens to be that this day, which I have been waiting YEARS for and which SHOULD have been an excellent day, has been ruined by my least favorite common bird," Keiran said. His voice had the edge to it of a normally quiet person pushed off the edge of their reason by extenuating circumstances. He glanced around. Still no signs of wild Pokemon. They were smart to fear him at the moment, and to leave him alone even if they didn't. He wasn't sure he would be able to restrain himself from getting his book back out, especially if he encountered a Pidove.
"...and if you really care that much, my name is Keiran Clow," he hastily added, having almost forgotten to answer her question. She certainly was hard to offend. Perhaps he would apologize to her later and get to know her, if he managed not to scare her off while still feeling angry and disillusioned with life.
Not-A-DJ cheerfully started to orbit the Chimchar now, having noticed her interest.
"Porygooooooooooon~" the digital Pokemon hummed, talking more to himself than his fellow Pokemon.

The little Chimchar hopped up and down as the strange Pokemon circled around her. This game was fun! "Chim! Char! Chim!" Whee! Woo-hoo! Whee! Zherra was glad that Mimika was enjoying herself so much. "Thats a Porygon, Mimika. You don't see a lot of them out and about, because they originate from computers."
Mimika made a little 'ahh' sound, and continued to leap around like a madman. She had energy to burn, and this floaty thing would be the perfect outlet! "Chimchar Chim! Chim chim CHAR!" Let's battle! I think it would be awesome fun!

Not-A-DJ stopped orbiting, and considered the offer to battle, floating in place as he thought. He slowly started to tilt over, and soon was floating upside down.
"Poooooryyyyyy..." As Keiran hadn't given him an order, Not-A-DJ wasn't sure if it was okay to fight or not. But... maybe it'd be fun, and he didn't necessarily always have to obey his trainer as long as he wasn't disobeying...
"Gon~" Okay~ Not-a-DJ said at last, still hovering upside down in the air. He flipped back over, and zipped around in a quick circle to define a sort of space before settling in a much of a fighting stance as a Porygon could a couple feet away. "Pooorygon." Since you challenged me, you can go first.
Keiran stopped, and sighed. He couldn't very well leave without Not-A-DJ. But if the Porygon didn't need orders, he wasn't going to give them. He stood back to watch.

Mimika cheered! Yay! A battle! She drew her arms to the side, keeping an even distance between her paws. A blue sphere began to form, and Mimika looked like she was focusing hard. She flung the sphere at the Porygon, hoping it'd strike true. It did, with a devastating effect. Energy exploded from the sphere, causing a lot of damage for one hit.
[RESULT: 6] [+1 Type Advantage]
Zherra was flabbergasted. Was that what she thought it was? She whipped out her Pokedex to verify the move. Aura Sphere. A pokemon charges up its aura energy into a sphere shape, and flings it at the opponent. It is a Fighting Type move. "So..She can use Aura Sphere.."

Not-A-DJ flipped over in the air.
"Pory." Not fair. he said. His front pixellated a bit, like a TV image affected by static, then returned mostly to normal, though a few sparky pixels flew off every few seconds. That was a rather problematic attack...
He'd have to keep up despite being vulnerable, though. He was a move behind already.
The digital Pokemon dissolved into binary, which vanished, and reformed right behind Mimika. This was his favorite move... a special attack that would absolutely astonish anybody who didn't know a Porygon could learn it.
[RESULT: 2]
He released a burst of sound which completely failed to startle his opponent and zoomed at her with an off-kilter blow, flying off ahead a few feet and tumbling in the air. It barely did anything, but the damage was still there. He felt disappointed.
