Kain sighed sleepily as he finally reached the outskirts of the city he had been reaching for this whole time. It took him a whole days walk to get where he was now and he didnt sleep very well the whole day, too excited to sleep regularly. He cracked his back a bit and fixed his glasses, ruffling his his jacket a bit. The teenage boy smiled as he set his sights on the city, heading down the small hill to the town.
It seems peaceful enough... hopefully I will start out well like some of the others i have heard of... To believe someone got a lugia... Its insane! Kain thought to himself, chuckling as he walked through the houses lined up on the streets, eventually reaching the house of Professor Conifer just before the sun was about to start setting in the sky. The eager lad pushed the door open, hoping the Professor was in the house.

"Back here!" Said a voice from the back of the lab. Kain walked in the direction of the voice to see a woman seeting some pokeballs on a podium. She turned around to face the lad and smiled, nodding her head. "Hi there, I`m Professor Conifer. So you are here for a pokemon right? Well, I`ll tell you what. I`ll skip the boring mantra about the world of pokemon and you can go ahead and pick your pokemon." She said, opening 6 of the 9 pokeballs. "These pokeballs here, they are a mystery even to me. They are trained to bond to the first person to open their pokeball, so once you choose one you cannot go back. They come from my breeder friend, and can be any pokemon. Recently I saw someone walk away with a Lugia. And another got a Feebas. You may only choose one though, which will you choose?" She said, stepping away from the podium so he could pick his partner.       |

Kain looked at his choices and rubbed his chin a bit. He had been hoping for something else but he shook his head, gracious enough to be given a Pokemon, but still not having what he was looking for. He looked at the Professor and put a thumb under his backpack, fixing it slightly. "Well, honestly Professor, I absolutely love how you are giving me my own Pokemon, I am thankful for that, but i was hoping to get one of those mystery Pokemon that i have heard about... It seems really cool to have a surprise after all!"
Kain laughed and put the Pokeballs back in the podium, smiling and looking at the Professor. "I feel sort of lucky, so I might as well try it out... Thank you anyways!" He leaned back and put down his bag so he could stretch his shoulder out a bit, eventually picking up one of the Pokeballs and throwing it to the ground.

The ball opened up and a bright light appeared from it, taking form. It was small and twitchy. The pokemon opened it's little eyes and looked around. Seeing Kain, the pokemon quickly scuttled over to him and climbed up his leg, poking its head over his shoulder and looking at him. "Joltik tik!" It said in a squeaky voice, rubbing its head against him affectionately. Professor Conifer smiled and nodded at the new pair approvingly, staying out of the way so they could get to know one another.  Pokemon Name: Joltik Gender: Male Pokemon Personality: Affectionate, Napoleon complex, possessive. Pokemon Ability: Unnerve Pokemon Health: 24 Pokemon Level: 5 Move Roster: String shot, Leech Life, Spider Web, Thunder wave |

Kain was quite surprised at his random pick and smiled as the little bug Pokemon scuttled up his body and gently on his shoulder, eventually onto Kain's head. It tickled a bit but after some smiling and some scratching of the Joltik, Kain eventually figured out a good name for his first Pokemon. "Blitz. I will call you Blitz, alright?" Blitz chattered away for a bit but happily agreed for as much as Kain could tell.
Kain smiled and thanked the Professor a few times, giving his Joltik a Rawst berry, which the Pokemon happily accepted. Kain took out a notepad just then and scribbled down some notes, eventually stuffing it back into his pocket. He looked at the Professor and cocked his head to the side however. "So, uhhh... what now?"

Kain chuckled at the choices. It was simple enough for him luckily and it wouldnt take too much thought to even choose. "I will take the green Pokedex and the 2nd backpack..." He then went over and just grabbed them himself, dumping his clothes and other stuff from his mom's backpack into his newer one which was much roomier and spacious. It easily carried everything including his new item contents.
Blitz was nibbling at Kain's leggings and pulled him a bit, eager to get going with his new trainer. Kain could only chuckle again and quickly jotted down some more notes on his red pad. This was his first Pokemon after all and he was going to record whatever he could. He nodded at the Professor then and spoke confidently. "Thank you very much Professor Conifer. Hopefully I will become a great Trainer and one day be able to study every Pokemon with whatever they may do!" With that he ran out of the house, heading towards Route 801, starting his journey as an official trainer.
