Time to Heal

The next morning, Crescendo woke up earlier than he would have liked, groaning softly as he dragged himself out of bed. He trudged over to the bathroom with the day's clothes in hand, changing into them before re-emerging into the room. He yawned as he gently pet his still-sleeping Skarmory and exited the room, making his way to the cafeteria to get food for him and his friend.

Quietly returning with the food, Crescendo set the plates on the nightstand between the two beds and crept over to Soteria's bed. He placed a hand on her shoulder and gently shook her, clearing his throat before speaking.

"Wake up, my friend. I have brought breakfast." Said the trainer with a smile.

Soteria slept through when Crescendo got up and didn't wake until Crescendo gently shook her awake. Soteria opened her eyes and looked at him. She gave a soft smile as she sat up from the bed and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. "Good morning Crescendo did you sleep well," she asked softly before she noticed the breakfast food. She smiled softly again and added, "This looks great thanks for getting it Crescendo but I could have gone with you to help."

Andreas, Grace, and Flash came fully awake and look at the two trainers as they talked though were hungry as well. Noticing this Soteria smiled softly and went to her back pack once more and took out all of the favorite food of their Pokemon and put them in their bowls for them to eat as well.

Crescendo smiled warmly at Soteria and waved his hand dismissively at her, leaning back with his plate while the pokemon ate.

"Don't worry about it. I was awake and you weren't yet, so I thought waking up to breakfast would be welcomed. It's perfectly fine." He said to her when someone knocked on the door.

"HELLO THERE?! Can I come in? Too late it's happening!" Crescendo blinked as he sat up, moving to get up and open the door when it was thrown right open, a Togetic fluttering in with a Roselia on it's back. A woman donning a green outfit proudly strode in, plopping herself on Crescendo's bed and taking a bite off his plate.

"Uh, hello?" Crescendo said, blinking at the strange girl while she chowed done on his breakfast.

"Howdy, now then, one of you is a breeder right? I watched you two during that Latios attack I must say I`m impressed." She said while her pokemon introduced themselves to Crescendo and Soteria's pokemon.

Soteria smiled and was about to reply to Crescendo's words before she heard a knock on their door. She then listen to the voice on the other side and giggled slightly at the person's last words just before the door open, right when Crescendo went to open it. She was surprise to see a Togetic with a Roselia on it's back before she saw a women enter after them wearing a green outfit and went to Crescendo's bed before taking a bite out of his plate. She then watched as her three Pokemon greeted the Togetic and the Roselia.

Soteria was surprise that this woman saw what they did during the Latios attack and heard her ask about one of them being a breeder. "Yes, hello there and I'm a breeder," she said softly giving a shy yet nervous smile wondering what she wanted. Soteria hated this part about herself but normally when she meets new people, especially those she wasn't sure on what to think on, she grew shy but she was still herself.

Grace, Andreas, and Flash, once they said their hello's to the other two Pokemon, felt their breeder's nervousness and went to her side. Andreas and Flash cuddled close to her at her sides while Grace moved into her lap. The three canine like Pokemon offering their own forms of comfort to her.

The strange woman smiled at Soteria's words and laid down on the bed, her head hanging off the edge so she was looking at Soteria upside down.

"WELL, in regards to that, I`m gonna give ya a little help in your journey. I have the Gustella hint memorized by heart and I already passed that test." She said, pointing to her discarded bag where her Togetic lifted up an egg.

"Toge." It said happily, putting the egg back in the bag. The woman looked back at Soteria and smiled once more.

"So, I`m Carina, and here it is:

There is a place not far from here
It's not difficult to find.
Keep to Gustella's lefthand ear
And seek it with sound mind.

Your guide is known for being angry
And marked with a big red bow.
You`ll find it's not quite that scary
Which is strange for a big Fearow.

Got it? When you do, I`ll be happy to lead you over there. I guess I COULD lead you right now, but I love watching people struggle to figure out the riddles. It's my favorite past-time. Take as long as you need, we got all the time in the world, right Roc and Grace?" She said to her pokemon, who chirped in agreement.

Soteria thought over the riddle that Carina gave her. Hmm lets see lefthand ear means it's near the west side of town and the guide will have to be a Fearow with a red bow, she thought. She then looked at Carina think it odd to see that she was looking at her upside down that she couldn't help but smile. "It will be North/West and my guide would be a Fearow with a red bow I believe," she said. She wasn't very good with riddles but this one was simple for her since most of the answers was in the riddle itself.

Grace, Flash, and Andreas wagged their tails in anticipation hoping that Soteria was able to guess correctly. Soteria was nervous about her answer though. She is sure she has it correct but she could also be wrong. She then looked at Crescendo.

Crescendo gave an encouraging smile as Carina leapt up from the bed, scooping up her backpack and walking out the door with her pokemon close behind.

"Nice work, come along then!" She said. Crescendo stared after her as Skarmory rushed over to his trainer, Crescendo lifting himself onto the pokemon's back while reaching for Soteria, helping her on as well. After returning all the pokemon, Skarmory rushed out the door, Crescendo and Soteria apologizing to people as the giant bird rushed after Carina.

"Wait a second! Wait for us!" Crescendo said as he urged Skarmory to move faster, the silver bird trotting to keep up with the strange woman. Carina giggled as she whistled, a bird pokemon diving from the sky and latching onto her, carrying her off.

"Try to keep up!" She called. Crescendo growled as he grabbed Skarmory's neck, leaning back to let Soteria hold onto him.

"Hang on! Skarmory, please go after them!" Crescendo said impatiently. Sharing his trainer's frustration, Skarmory wasted no time in launching himself into the air, speeding as fast as he could towards Carina. Upon closer inspection, Crescendo could see the pokemon was a fearow. And not just any Fearow, but the one with the red bow tied around it's neck. Crescendo stared dumb-foundedly at the pokemon as their race through the city took them to an aviary. Fearow immediately dove down, Carina laughing like a maniac as if she enjoyed the ride. The fearow set her down in front of the entrance as it waddled over to the door, pecking it open while Skarmory landed, glaring slightly at the breeder.

"Welp, here we are. Come on in." She said, following the Fearow inside while Crescendo sighed.

Soteria wrapped her arms around Crescendo's waist, after he help her up behind him on Skarmory, and called Flash and Grace back into their balls once more while Andreas and the egg was once again in her lap and she made sure to have her backpack with her. She didn't have time to be able to change out of her pajamas before they had to chase after Carina so she hopes that she will be able to change out of them once they have caught up to Carina and land wherever she is trying to lead them too.

She heard Crescendo yelling for Carina to wait up and Carina's reply back to him. She then saw Crescendo lean over Skarmory's neck and made sure she had a tight grip around his waist as they took off faster after Carina. She noticed that the Pokemon that had got Carina was a Fearow and it had a red bow around it's neck, just as the riddle said. She then watched as an aviary came into their sight and the Fearow dived down to it. Is that the Breeder Center, she thought to herself and looked around noticing that the areas was exactly North-West of Gustella Town. She continued to hold on as Skarmory landed and glared at the breeder before them. She heard Carina's words and Crescendo's sigh.

When Soteria moved to get off of Skarmory's back, after Andreas jumped onto the ground, she realized that she was still in her pjs which caused her to blush a bright red and look down shyly. "I didn't have time to change before this wild chase," she said quietly to herself before she began to follow Carina and the Fearow inside.

Crescendo looked at Soteria sympathetically, realizing she was correct. With a twitch in his eye, he got off Skarmory and helped Soteria down, grabbing a pokeball off his belt and tossing it into the air, his Snivy emerging.

"Snivy, don't let her get too far please." He asked. Snivy nodded and trotted after the breeder, a yelp from Carina signaling his obedience not much later.

"Mother of Arceus! Let me go dangit! You dirty rattata! How dare you use one of my favorite pokemon against me!" Carina shouted while Crescendo smirked, removing his cape. He gestured towards Skarmory who nodded, moving behind Soteria and holding his wings up around her. Crescendo stuck the ends of his cape on the tips of Skamory's wings, turning around and holding the other side up, making a sort of changing room for Soteria.

"Here, we`ll let you have some privacy to get changed, that crazy girl isn't going to get far now." He promised her, looking in the direction his snivy went.

Soteria watch with surprise as Crescendo called out his Snivy and told him to stop Carina. She watch as Snivy did so and soon she heard yelp from Carina causing Soteria to giggle as she listen to Carina complaining about Crescendo using her favorite Pokemon against her. She then watched as Crescendo removed his cape before she felt more then heard Skarmory get behind her and lifting his wings up around her. She then watched as Crescendo clip the cape to Skarmory's wings making a kinda changing room for her. This caused her to smile softly as she said, "Thank you Crescendo." She then began to dig into her bag for some suitable clothes for traveling and gently place the egg down. She then removed her pajamas from her body and put the clothes she picked out on. She put socks and Tennis shoes on and unbraided her hair, brush it out, and braided it again.

Andreas, at the time, was keeping watch around them to be sure they weren't disturbed. While the three of them waited for Soteria to finish. Not to long after those thoughts went through his mind Soteria said, "Okay I'm ready now."

Crescendo smiled as he and Skarmory removed the cape from around her and replaced it on his shoulders, walking with her into the aviary, Skarmory behind them. They looked around in wonder, even though Crescendo had been in here already it still amazed him to see all the birds. In one pen, a Moltres watched with mild amusement as Carina struggled in front of her cage, tied up in Snivy's vines. The grass snake pokemon looked positively smug as she struggled, and in the back of the room, a man also watched with an amused gleam in his eye.

"Oh Carina, it's just a tiny little Snivy. Surely Roc there can get you out of it, or Grace." He said as both pokemon watched almost helplessly. Carina whined and looked at the approaching Crescendo.

"Get me out of this or so help me, I will make sure you never have any kids!" She threatened, her words oozing with venom. Crescendo snorted softly and snapped his fingers, and Snivy released the breeder from his vines, walking back to his trainer and climbing on his shoulders. Clearing his throat, the man stepped forward, helping Carina up while looking at the newcomers.

"Welcome back Crescendo, and hello there, I don't think I`ve seen you around. My name is Trevor, and I`m the head of this place. I assume you are here to take a test?" He asked as a tiny head emerged from under the Moltres, looking at them in curiosity.

Soteria smiled softly and gave Skarmory a gentle pat in thanks for his help. She would do something in thanks for Crescendo but she wasn't sure on what she can do so she just followed him inside and looked around. The place was amazing with its many bird type Pokemon about. She even saw a Moltres who was watching the Snivy holding Carina with an amused look. She also noticed that Snivy had a smug look on his face which was cute in her opinion. She then heard another voice speaking in a teasing way and looked over to see a man that was also amuse as he spoke.

Andreas watched everything with his own amuse look in his eyes as the Snivy release Carina and went back to Crescendo after her 'threat' to him. Soteria gave a quiet giggle as she looked at everything before she heard the man say hello to Crescendo and introduce himself. When she heard his question she noticed a tiny head that popped out from under the Moltres and looked at them curiously which Soteria gave it a soft and kind smile before she turned her gaze on Trevor and said, "Yes, I'm here to take my first test as a breeder. My name is Soteria."

Trevor smiled and snapped his fingers, a Dreagonite and Dodrio appearing. In the Dodrio's three heads was a sack that was being held at the top by the beaks while the Dragonite carried a foldable table in it's paws. They walked over in between the Head and the newbie breeder and as this occured, the baby pokemon jumped out from under the Moltres. It hopped over to the front of the cage and started peeping at Soteria. Noticing this, Trevor walked over to the cage along with his fearow and the two of them began to work on the locks, opening the door and letting the baby pokemon out. It hopped over to Soteria and started jumping up and down enthusiastically. Trevor tilted his head as he walked back over, picking up the baby pokemon. It leapt out of his hands and launched itself at Soteria, much to Crescendo's shock and Trevor's surprise.

"Wow, I guess Ho-oh are born friendly. Well, you can hold him until you are ready to leave, let's begin shall we? Look at these eggs carefully. One is fake and one isn't my type. Figure out which is which and you pass." He said, standing to move behind the table with the 6 eggs lined up on it.

Soteria watched as the two Pokemon set things up for her and once that was done she looked carefully at each of the eggs. She then heard peeping and turned to see that the baby she saw earlier was peeping at her. She watched as Trevor and his Fearow went to the cage and unlock the doors to let the baby Pokemon out. It then hopped over to her and began to jump up and down. Trevor came over and pick the Pokemon up but it leap out of his hands and launched itself at her. She quickly sat her egg down and caught the little one and held it gently as she look at it.

She then heard Trevor say what the Pokemon was which surprised her. A baby Ho-oh? It's so cute, she smiled softly at the little one and nodded at Trevor before she glance at the eggs to try to figure out which one is fake and which one isn't his type. She looked at each of the eggs carefully and first sorting out which Pokemon wouldn't be his type. After some careful looking she said, "I believe the one with the yellow stripe is the fake one and the first egg wouldn't be your type." Soteria pointed to the two eggs she is talking about which happened to be the very first one and the next to last one. really hopes she got this correct because it will be embarrassing if she miss up on her first test. She was between the red and white egg and the one with the yellow stripe but she decided she would go with the yellow stripe one.

Trevor smiled at the girl as he smacked the blue egg with the yellow stripe away from the group of eggs, tossing it into one of the cages where the bird pokemon pounced on it, knocking it around. He grabbed one of the other eggs and set it gently inside of a case, capping it off and then putting a tiny cherish ball on top of it, holding it out to her.

"Congratulations, you passed." He said, smiling at her.
