"Um...I think this is the right place," Amy said, looking at the small cottage she'd found. She'd asked around the town for where she could find the gym and had been directed here. "I guess they fight out in the open here," she mused to herself, knocking on the door and waiting for the gym leader to open the door.
As Amy knocked on the door, there was a very, very long pause before the town's Gym Leader cracked open the cabin's entrance, peering through the crack with, at first, a pretty hard stare. Only when she realized that Amy was indeed a trainer and not some goonie did she fully open the door, scratching the back of her head apologetically.
"Sorry, we've had to keep security pretty tight these days, and with Team Necro stealin' pokemon... I can't risk having my birds fly overhead and report to me who is at my doorstep and who ain't" Wendy apologized, shrugging afterward. "Technically I'm not even supposed to be hosting battles anymore, but since you've been waitin' fer so long... heck, I suppose I do owe ya somethin'." A wicked grin spread across her face and she gave Amy a good friendly slap on the shoulder before beckoning to the fenced in backyard. "Field's around back. We'll be able to battle there. Sure you're ready for this?"
