Vulpina's opponent wiggled at the thought of winning this fight so soon, while Celeste and Vulpina were in a bit of a corner. Celeste felt a cold wind behind her and she smiled, lifting her head high.
"Vulpina! Payback once more!" She commanded. The Zorua ran forward, charging up her attack, in the hopes of eliminating her opponent.
[RESULT: 7] Super-Effective +1
And a direct hit sent the Duskull sprawling backwards, making Celeste think that maybe she didn't need plan B after all. But the fight was not over yet as Duskull came staggering with an Astonish in store.
[RESULT: 7] Not very effective -1
Celeste gritted her teeth. Vulpina could not take much more of this! She looked behind her and bit her lip, turning back to her Zorua.
"Hang in there Vulpina! You guys, just hang on a little while longer, the odds are about to turn in our favor!" Celeste cried, rallying her group. If they could just hold these guys off for a bit longer they'd be set.
Meanwhile, Luca's opponent had underestimated him just one too many times, barely dodging the flames of his incinerate this time.
"You twerp! Hidden Power!" He called. Duskull spun the energy around it before firing it off toward the axew.
[RESULT: 2]
Aunia's attack hit dead on and the new guys duskull staggered to get up. Like Vulpina's opponent, it was on its last legs. It's trainer growled and pointed menacingly at Aunia.
"You don't have a choice you mangey pup! Feel the wrath that is Hidden Power!" He cried as Duskull moaned, sending a ball of power to Aunia.

"That was great Luca! Now, think you can find that power again and amplify it?" Sawyer glared at the mysterious man, well past fed up with his smug attitude. Paisley wasn't happy with watching from the sidelines, but she knew that was where she was supposed to be and where she would work best at the time. She maaaaaaaahed loudly at the opposing force, hoping to maybe throw them off or.. something.
The Axew whimpered a little to himself as he watched Aunia and Vulpina get thrown back time and time again, and because of the minor distraction, his dodging was a little off and he was hit by the Duskull's Hidden Power, if only slightly. Whipping right back around, Luca parted his jaws slightly and let the flame lap around them before hurdling another attack at the ghost.
"Incinerate, one more time!"
[RESULT: Miss]
Unfortunately the attack missed, even though it was more powerful than before. Vulpina: 2/22 Luca: 19/21 Aunia: 11/22 ________ Duskull Lv. 5: 3/23 Duskull Lv. 6: 16/24 Duskull Lv. 6: 6/22 |

Lesa winced, Aunia yelped, and everything seemed to spiral. This was not a good fight for three inexperienced trainers. While these annoying grunts were not all that strong, they did have more experience than they three girls. Proof enough in the eevee who was struggling to get back to her feet, shaking with exhaustion from that last attack. She was barely able to stand, but she had quite a fighting spirit, her little Aunia.
"There... is always a choice," the eevee answered, lifting her head as best she could to send one more attack at the enemy.
[RESULT: 9]
The attack was aimed true, and had all of the little one's heart and spirit behind it. She may have been close to collapsing. But this enemy would not be getting back up. Vulpina: 2/22 Luca: 19/21 Aunia: 2/22 ________ Duskull Lv. 5: 3/23 Duskull Lv. 6: 16/24 Duskull Lv. 6: 0/22 |

Almost there! Vulpina was almost there! Aunia had taken down her opponent with great power, and the Zorua knew she had to do the same. With a rallying howl, Vulpina ran toward the duskull, preparing one last attack, knowing it would be her last for this battle.
"YOU CAN DO IT VULPINA!" Celeste yelled as the Zorua ran, encouraging her as best she could. Vulpina would muster up everything she had in this one last attack.
[RESULT: 3] Super Effective +1
She did it! The Duskull went down and was no more. However, Vulpina collapsed from exhaustion, knowing she had done her job and protected everyone. Celeste smiled and took out Vulpina's pokeball, aiming it at the exhausted fox.
"You did great Vulpina! Take a nice long rest." She said as the pokeball sent out the beam that pulled her inside. The two grunts who had lost roared in fury, and the one who had been fighting Aunia dropped something large from a hidden sack on his back, and he scrambled to retrieve it.
"You brats! Look what you made me do! Team Necro, get that egg back now!" He commanded. Suddenly a cold wind enveloped them all, and Celeste grinned evilly.
"Knock the egg away with Hydro Pump Ranny!" She called. From behind her a large form leapt. High above them, Ranny the Suicune looked down on Team Necro and growled.
"CUNNNNNNNNE!!!" She howled, shooting a great stream of water down towards the blue and purple egg. The force of the blast knocked the egg right into Aunia, sending her flying back into her trainer with it. The remaining duskull shivered and readied itself to attack the Suicune, only to be called away by its trainer.
"Get rid of the runty axew first! Hidden Power!" He barked. Duskull reluctantly obeyed and turned to Luca, firing a surge of energy toward it as Ranny came flying down, pouncing on the two defeated grunts and holding them under its paw. It turned to Aunia and looked at her sternly.
"Cuuuune! Cuneee! Suicunnnnne!" Protect that egg! Don't let them get it! She yelled at the eevee.
Meanwhile the hidden power was making its way toward Luca, coming in fast.

"Awesome job you guys! Those were great battles" Sawyer clapped, her gaze straying to the other girls for but a moment. She wouldn't dare take her gaze off of Luca for longer than that, even though the rolling of an unusual oval rock threatened to catch her attention. A black and purple rock. Wait, rocks weren't black and purple... Tilting her head to the side and staring from the corner of her eye, the trainer saw quite the event unfold. The same Suicune from the Lab was interefering and helping them out! She rolled the egg away as fast as possible to Sawyer's relief, and knowing it would be in good hands with the newest arrival, she turned back to her Axew.
"Try another Incinerate when you get the chance!"
The Duskull's attack was another strong one, and somehow the dragon lizard managed to dodge over half of the blow. At this point he had much more health left than his friends, but trying to produce flame was hard work, and it was even harder being so swift at the same time. Luca was panting hard and digging deep to find his second wind, inhaling sharply and pinching his eyes shut, little claws digging into the dirt below as he unleashed a mighty force of flame. "AXEW!"
[RESULT: 4]
Maybe it really was practice and a bit of exercise that the Axew needed, for this time the fire really hit, engulfing the Duskull for a decent amount of time before it shook the smolders off. The ghost pokemon looked about half worn at this point, and with fatigue and worry setting in, its chances of victory were slimming. Desperate to impress its trainer and get back at Luca, it began forming another Hidden Power attack, nearly launching it right at the lizard before he or Sawyer had time to react.
However, its attempts were intercepted by the mighty blue dog of legend, her maw gaping as she released an Aurora Beam, the icy rainbow just enough to dissolve the pathetic ball of power in the pokemon's wispy hands while hitting the Duskull. "CUUUUNE!"

The suicune! Again! Her family would never believe this! For half an instant, Lesa stared in awe at the suicune as she jumped up and sent a powerful attack at the men who were opposing the three new trainers. Only for a second, though, because that attack knocked something into her eevee, which in turn sent Aunia flying.
"Aunia!" The eevee shrieked as she flew, but her landing was softer than it would have been, for her trainer had thrown herself in the pokemon's path, using herself to absorb the shock of the fall. Her arms wrapped around the eevee and what turned out to be an egg as she fell, landing heavily on her shoulder. An 'oof' pushed it's way out of the girl, but she smiled down at her eevee. "Are you alright?"
Aunia nodded, curling herself around the blue and purple egg that had been the cause of her flight. "Suicune says we have to protect this egg," the eevee translated. Not that Lesa needed it. She would have protected to egg even without Ranny's instructions.
In the meantime, after thwarting the pathetic attempt of an attack from the last duskull, Ranny opened her mouth once more, her fangs glowing with a brilliant, cold light as she jumped forward for an ice fang attack.

Duskull had not been able to dodge the combination of attacks from Luca and Ranny, but when she charged toward it with an ice fang it sunk into the ground, reappearing behind her and launching a Hidden Power at her rump while she was stuck in the ground.
[RESULT: 3]
A direct hit! Yet it barely fazed her. Ranny lifted her head from the ground and growled at the Duskull, lifting her head up to gather energy above her. A giant ball of water formed above her maw and she threw her head down, sending the attack right at duskull with a roar.
[RESULT: 4]
And the attack connected, blowing the Duskull away as the water ball pulsated around it. It staggered back up, turning to Luca on its trainers orders.
"Hidden Power!" He commanded, and the Duskull shot another attack at the little dragon.
[RESULT: 5]

Luca was forced back into the trunk of a tree, his back smacking it rather loudly. However, the dragon type bounced right back up and ran full-force into the fray, stopping halfway after chirping something to Ranny. Together they launched an Aurora Beam/Incinerate combo at the Duskull, Sawyer standing back and blinking in awe. Luca... was really getting into it this time.
[RESULT: 8]
[RESULT: Miss]
The idea was genius, but technically it just didn't work. The flames made quick work of the icy attack, yet somehow, were doubled in size once the beam died down, the shimmery fire overtaking the Duskull and leaving a fainted pokemon behind. Ranny nodded to herself and acted like she knew that would happen the whole time, the Axew puffing out his chest and crying out in joy.
"Awesome! See, told ya he wasn't a shrimp!" Sawyer whooped, sticking her tongue out at the creeps. The Suicune stood her ground and bared her fangs at the black coated individuals, giving Sawyer the chance to run back towards Lesa and offer her a hand. "Are you two alright? That was a pretty hard fall." Ranny: 47/50 Luca: 15/21 ________ Duskull Lv. 5: 0/23Duskull Lv. 6: 0/24Duskull Lv. 6: 0/22 |

Having proven victorious, Celeste and her friends closed in on the three masked men. The men huddled together in a cowardly pile as they got closer. Celeste was the first one to speak. "Who are you? And what did you do to these eggs?" She asked. The original two grunts merely whimpered in fear, but the newest to arrive stood his ground. "We are Team Necro! We haven't done anything to those eggs! Yet" He quipped. Celeste glared at him as she put a hand on Ranny, who growled menacingly. "Where is their mother?" She asked him. The masked man chuckled and tilted his head up, laughing madly. "Probably dead by now! Even a legendary fire pokemon can't survive the heat we dish out! Too bad her eggs are orphans now. If you`ll hand them over we'll take real good care of them, and we`ll owe you a favor. What do you say?" he asked. Celeste's eyes narrowed at them as she gripped Ranny's mane tightly. "Two words: Hydro. Pump." She answered. Ranny lifted her head high and roared at the masked men, unleashing a powerful blast of water from her maw. The Hydro Pump was so strong, it was able to lift the three men off the ground and launch them sky high. "Team Necro's going to haunt someone else!" They cried, a twinkle in the sky signaling their distance. Satisfied they would not come back anytime soon, Celeste hugged the Suicune next to her tightly before making her way to Lesa and Aunia. By this time Pendra and Paisley rolled their eggs over to their trainers, seeing as how they were safe now, and joined their two eggs with the one that Aunia caught. "Are you guys ok? These poor eggs. They lost their mother. I guess we can't return them. Listen, thank you so much for helping us kind stranger! As my thanks, why don't you take that egg your Eevee caught? It doesn't have anyone else now..." She said sullenly, looking at the three orphaned eggs. She picked up her white one and hugged it as tightly as she could, muttering sweet nothings at it. "Don't worry, I`ll take care of you. I might not be your mom, but I`ll do my best." She whispered. In return the egg warmed slightly, as if thanking her. Turning back to Lesa, Celeste smiled and held out a hand, carefully holding her egg with the other. "My name is Celeste. What's yours?" She asked. Eggs Obtained: Lesa:  |

Lesa stood back while the two girls pressed forward and interrogated the diskull trainers. Team Necro? What an odd sort of name. And what were they doing, anyway? What could they possibly want with eggs? But they were being particularly unwilling to respond to questioning, and then there was no more time for talking. The three had been hydro-pumped into the big blue sky. A little premature, but certainly she was thankful for the disconcerting confrontation to be over.
Then, just as suddenly, the attention was on her. Gulp. Lesa lifted her head and shifted her weight from one foot to another. The mareep and venipede were rolling the other eggs to their trainers, and Kale had finally stopped glaring in the general direction that Team Necro had disappeared in. The cyndaquil stopped by Lesa's feet, his flames slowly dissipating as he curled up in a ball to rest.
The girl silently recalled him before turning to her company. "I'm afraid that there was more than one mother killed for these eggs," Lesa admitted softly, looking from one to the other. One was white, one was black, and one was blue. These were not the same types of pokemon that would come out. "Most likely the one that they were referring to was just the last. She probably was trying to protect the other eggs that had already been orphaned." The breeder's tone was filled with sadness. Unfortunately, noting could change the past.
She shifted Aunia and the egg into one arm, reaching out to take Celeste's hand. "My name is Lesa. I hope to one day be a breeder, so I suppose taking care of this egg will be good practice, despite the way I came across it." A soft groan from her eevee made Lesa pause, and she glanced at the zorua Celeste was holding. "I would suggest we move swiftly on to Gustella. These little ones need looking after. That was a tough battle, especially for these young pokemon." |

Sawyer stood right beside Celeste and the Suicune the entire time, staring daggers into all of the cloaked men as the one spoke. Those low down, half-wit, insufferable-- bah. They weren't even worth the insults, really. She was reminded of the old Team Rocket tales when the newly dubbed Team Necro went sailing through the air, and dusting herself off after they'd vanished, the girl sighed and dusted off her shirt. Was there any region free of strife from some sort of ridiculous 'team'?
The trainer had to admit, though, that the bandits had done well for themselves. Unlike other groups she'd heard of, these people really seemed to be a true threat. Well, the band back in Unova was pretty rutheless too, but they'd had to work their way up to legendary pokemon. Necro's sole target seemed to be legendaries at the moment, and they must have been doing a pretty good job to have... Sawyer shook her head. Just thinking about it made her want to pick up her EGG, which she swiftly did when Paisley rolled it her way. From there she had her attention solely on Lesa.
She seemed wise beyond her years, even though she didn't look much older than Sawyer herself. Nodding curtly, she glanced down at Luca, tapping the pokeball at her side, asking if he wanted to rest for a while without using words. He shook his head and stamped his foot. He felt decent enough to walk outside of the ball for now, and besides, he wanted to keep an eye out for any other danger on the way to the town. Smirking, the girl clutched her back egg tighter to her chest and looked back to Lesa.
"I'm Sawyer - a new trainer. The best of luck to all of us with these mysterious eggs. Now.. onto Gustella?" |

Celeste nodded her head and turned to face the direction of the town, only to find herself at a dilemma. She turned to Ranny and gave the suicune the most pathetic look she could.
"Ranny, will you take us the rest of the way to Gustella? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease?" She asked sweetly. Ranny snorted and rolled her eyes, bending her knees to allow the girls to get on. Celeste jumped in joy as she mounted the suicune, settling on her neck with her egg in her arms and Pendra on her back. She turned to look at the girls and smiled.
"Come on you guys! Ranny's gonna take us the rest of the way so we don't get in more trouble! Let's go!" She said as her friends mounted the giant blue dog. Ranny stood up and shook her head to get any kinks out from the fight, and she began to move, steadily picking up speed.
"Onward! To Gustella Town!" Celeste cried as Ranny moved, almost not touching the ground as she ran. The girls would be in Gustella in no time!
