Jessa nervously walked up to the counter at the Pokemon Center in Breezebay Town. She was a little more prepared for the rush of this contest, having got there a little bit early. She showed her pass to Nurse Joy. "Jessa Bellafonte, entering the Breezebay Contest."
She walked over to a bench, and began arranging seals on her capsules. Corona was freed from her Pokeball, and sat calmly on Jessa's head. She knew to be as quiet and well behaved as possible from the last time they were in a contest.

Vero's first time in the contest atmosphere was much better than Allie's, although, he had a big ego to help him along. His pokemon were still practically babies compared to the others he was seeing, but hey! That wasn't going to stop him! His pokemon were the best, and if they didn't win... well. Something was clearly wrong.
Stepping up to the counter, he handed over a green Pokedex and waited for acceptance with his head held high. "My name's Vero, Nurse Joy. Finaaaally, time to show off my little ones!" he cooed, snuggling Gypsy close as he headed off to get ready.

Cassie took a deep breath. This would be her first time participating in a Contest. "I am Cassie Walker" she informed Nurse Joy. "I would like to enter."
Joy started typing away at her computer. When she was done Cassie got handed some capsules. Cassie nodded her thanks.

Aidan could barely manage to skid to a stop as he frantically burst into Breezebay's pokemon center. He smiled in surprise and satisfaction at the fact he hadn't fallen flat on his face, but his content was short-lived when Nadia went crashing into him from behind, his sudden stopping catching her off guard.
Aidan went flying towards the counter, his breath cut short as he slammed into it. "Ooof!" He wheezed, trying to regain a shred of composure. "My name is Aidan, and I'd like to register for the contest," he told Nurse Joy with a slight pained smile.

The pokemon doctor nodded happily as she registered all of the coordinators, only to hear something crash into her desk. Looking over, she saw a dizzy Celeste panting up a storm.
"AM I LATE AM I LATE?! I AM CELESTE PLEASE DON'T TELL ME I`M TOO LATE!" She yelped, standing up in front of Nurse Joy with her contest pass. The woman blinked as she tentatively grabbed Celeste's contest pass and signed her into the database.
"You aren't late, just in time. Uh, take a seat please?" She said, sweatdropping and handing her the pass back. The girl went to sit down and was about to groom her pokemon when Obsidian called for everyone.
"All coordinators entering the contest, backstage please!" Celeste smiled as she got up and started towards the back, cuddling her Zorua closely.
"This is going to be fun. You guys ready for this?" She asked. Vulpina and Pendra peeped in excitement as Obsidian made her spiel, introducing herself and the judges.
"Good luck to everyone, and now let's geeeeeeeeeeeet busy!" Said the EmCee.

Cassie heard he name called as she stood off stage. She grinned. It was just like in riding competitions. The audience didn't exist just her and her Pokemon.
"Arid! Oasis! Let's show them what you're made of!" Cassie flung the two balls high in the air to release her Skorupi and Buizel emerged on the stage with shimmering glitter.
"Time to get started! Places." Oasis ran to the far end of the stage and turned to face Arid. "Arid take aim, fire Poison Sting!"
Arid fired the sharp poison needles in rapid succession at the Buizel. The crowd gasped. Cassie ignored them and called out her next command. "Oasis Sonicboom!" Oasis released the attack just in time and destroyed the Poison Sting turning them into a could of purple dust that covered the stage.
"Excellent, now Oasis watersport." Oasis jumped up and let out a stream of water as he danced across the stage. When he finished he jumped onto Arid's back and took a bow. In the purple dust that covered the stage a desert flower was drawn.
Cassie and Arid bowed as well and walked off stage.

Aidan tapped his foot nervously, watching the monitor in the waiting room, trying his best to focus on his opponents' rather impressive performances. His mind kept wandering, worried about the fact his appeal was very similar to his first contest appearance. With all their wandering around, Aidan and his team really hadn't had time to level up and learn any new moves. Nor did his few attempts at past captures prove to have any success. Glancing down at the two pokeballs in his shaking hand, he readjusted the seals in an attempt to calm down.
Distracted by every meaningless cough and every slight fidget, Aidan did not hear when his name was called. Nor did he hear it when it was called a second time. At the third, now testy call, Aidan jerked upwards in attention, clumsily fumbling the pokeballs in his hands. Trying to smile, he whipped past the slightly amused contestants in the waiting room, stopping for only a slight pause when he was just behind the stage's curtains.
And then came the feeling. The sheer awe and the filled stadium, the thrill of the cheers and the the invigoration of the golden lights. Aidan was definitely getting used to this feeling. With his first genuine smile of the night he spun the two pokeballs high into the sky, giving a wave to the audience with his free hand.
"Thanks everyone!" he cheered into the quieting crowd. "But better be careful! Looks like a storm is brewin!"
As his sentence trailed of there was a flash of light, and the capsules on the pokeballs triggered. Small bolts of lightning struck down and a fog littered with silver paper swept about the stage.
There was a large 'THUD' as a shadowy figure hit the stage. Aidan called out to it. "Let's light it up!"
The figure groaned in response, spots on it's still shadowed body beginning to glow red through the fading fog as it gently proceeded to light the falling paper on fire. The blazing fragments glowed like orange stars through the smoke.
A smaller figure landed atop the larger with a squeak, and the two pokemon came into view. A Seedot was perched upon a Torkoal's back. As the fog and lightning dispersed, Aidan raised his arms to his sides. Enki took notice and quickly leaped from Pyrrhus's back to his head, and the Torkoal let out a soft bellow in response, whipping his head upwards, skyrocketing Enki into the air. The Seedot quickly began to glow, Bide's effects reflecting off the now almost nonexistent burning strips of confetti. Pyrrhus directed his stream of flame upwards, and the fire bent around the shining Seedot, twisting and flaring out like coils.
As Enki began his descent Aidan couldn't help but inhale sharply, pleased things were going well. "It's time to end with a bang!"
Enki began to spin progressively faster as he fell, Pyrrhus's eyes glowing faintly as he used Safeguard on his teammate. An almost crystalline shell encased itself over the other pokemon, both the flames and Bide's light shining through like sunbeams. And the there was a loud noise and a flash, the ball exploding into a shower of a million little flames, smoke, and sparkles as Enki came into collision with the floor. When the smoke dispersed Ekin was yet again on Pyrrhus's head and Aidan was standing behind them, his eyes sparkling with excitement and his arms raised out above his head. The three took a bow as Aidan called out to the crowd for a final time.
"Thank you all!"
Aidan then hurried of the stage, ushering Enki and Pyrrhus to quickly do the same, most likely so he could promptly find somewhere to collapse, no longer trusting his slightly buckling knees.

"What a dazzling performance from Aidan! Will Celeste please come onto the stage?" Obsidian called. Feeling a bit more confident than she did last time, Celeste walked gracefully to the stage and took out two pokeballs, grinning happily. Waving to the audience, Celeste took a deep breath and tossed the pokeballs.
"Reso, Vulpina, it's showtime!" She said. The two pokemon emerged in a shower of black and red stars and they landed on stage as the stars fell around them. Celeste nodded approvingly as she looked at her pokemon with pride.
"You know what? This stage isn't quite right for our appeal. Vulpina, fix that little issue with your new move, Night Daze!" She commanded. The Zorua grinned as her eyes glowed as energy surrounded her. With a rallying cry, Vulpina released the energy from around her anf the stage lit up in a red light. With the light rain hitting the stage, Vulpina allowed it to weaken her attack and the stage became a scene from a dance club, red highlighting the stage while all kinds of colored lights peeked through. Celeste grinned and crossed her arms.
"Good job, now then, let's mambo! Vulpina, fury swipes, Reso, Teleport, but don't do it until JUST before her attack strikes." She said. Vulpina's paws glowed as she ran to Reso, rearing up to claw at him just before he disappeared. He reappeared just behind her and she rounded on him to strike again, only for the ralts to disappear again. Reso reappeared on her side and she rounded on him without skipping a beat.
The two pokemon continued to dance in this way all around the stage, moving to the beat of a song no one but them could hear. The crowd cheered and began to clap, and soon the pokemon changed the tempo of their movements to match the beat the crowd had set, and Celeste smiled. Raising her arms, she pointed to her dancing pokemon.
"Wrap it up!" She commanded. The two pokemon nodded and this time, when Vulpina rushed at Reso, he did not move as she grabbed ahold of him and the two disappeared, reappearing above the red cloud of Vulpina's Night Daze. With a cry, the two pokemon fell and cut through the cloud, Vulpina with her Fury Swipes and Reso with his hand, and they sliced through the Night Daze. The red cloud collapsed on itself via the cuts they made and exploded in a shower of red sparks. Celeste smiled and she and her pokemon bowed to the judges and the three walked back to the waiting room, anxious for the results.

Seconds, moments, minutes... all of them passed without Vero moving a muscle, his eyes staring hard at the screen above his seat. The first appeal caught him off guard. "Ack, oh no, Gypsy! That little bugger stole our appeal!" He watched as the girl's pokemon drew some sort of flower on the stage, and immediately his fists curled up into tight balls. The Snivy blinked up at the screen, not really understanding.
"Snivy?" she mumbled, stretching as more opponents went in and came out. Vero nodded hard and withdrew her into her pokeball, standing up to pace around the room and glare at everyone else. "That's right, my sweet! We need to think up a different appeal, and on the spot too!" Right up until Celeste re-entered the back stage he was pacing and thinking, eventually walking out towards the cheering crowd with a determined look. He didn't know how this would fair, but he'd make the best of it for sure!
Flashing a large smile to the crowd, Vero twirled, throwing two pokeballs into the air. From them, streamers and confetti floated around two forms, one blue, one green. The green shape grabbed the streamers, twirling and flipping them during her quick descent, the blue form slashing his horn at the confetti and shredding it to smaller pieces. They landed on the sandy stage and stood tall, spinning in unison with their trainer until he snapped a finger.
"Whirr dear, use Tackle on those piles of sand. Make them taller, and make one into an extravagant pile!" he called. Normally he'd use some sort of phrase to instruct them, but this was a completely different routine, and needed his exact guidance. The shiny Nidoran rolled his eyes, shuffling through the area and executing Tackle on various piles, building them up and sculpting them to his desire. One in particular he worked on for almost a minute, creating a hill of sorts. He slipped on his way back, which angered him a bit. The falling rain was getting the arena wet, that was for sure.
"Good work, dovie! Gypsy, use Magical Leaf~" as he paused, the Snivy prepared herself for an extravagant display, only to tilt her head at his request. "on that spot at the top of the hill. Concentrate the leaves there!" Shrugging, the pokemon did as she was told, firing row after row of colorful leaves on a certain point. They sort of stuck together and formed a mat, or in Vero's mind, a sled. He leaned down and whispered something to Gypsy, who giggled and nodded, running out onto the sand to climb the hill. She scaled it, and once she was standing on the leafy sled, it began to move.
Gypsy focused hard on keeping her balance as the leaf board increased speed, and as she neared the bottom of the hill, Vero motioned to Whirr. "Poison Sting, on the stage! Create a course for her to follow!" Nodding, the pokemon sighed and fired glowing purple darts upon the sand, two rows of points with a space in between directing a route for Gypsy. The Snivy suddenly found herself coming to a hill, and she gulped. Without warning she soared through the air, sparkles from the Magical Leaf following her as she hit the ground, her tail helping her balance and she hit the wet sand and continued forward. She weaved and slid, continuing throughout her course and even weaving through some of the purple points as if she were skiing, sparkles still following her. On the last hill she did a flip off of her board, landing promptly in Vero's arms.
Together they all bowed, Vero winking before they headed backstage. Well.. now to see what happened next!

Jessa made a nervous sound as her name was finally called. She returned Corona to her Pokeball, then walked out on stage, capsules all nicely decorated. She tossed the balls high into the air. "Corona, Marisoth, Take the stage!"
The capsules burst open in a shower of sparks and firefly-type lights. A Latias appeared below the sparks, Corona perched on top of her friends head. As the firefly lights began to float downward, Jessa spoke up. "Alright Marisoth, Wish!"
The Latias responded with a cheerful cry, then she began to shimmer. From the ceiling, a large sparking star began to fall. "Corona, Use Ember on the Wish Star!" The small Litwick complied with a radiant burst of flame, smashing the large star into smaller, glimmering fragments.
Jessa had to be quick before the shards fell. "Marisoth, now use Psywave! Lift and move the shards of the star with your power!" The red dragon pokemon cooed to her trainer. "Latiaaas laaa!" Her eyes glowed a bright blue for a moment, before a pulse of psychic energy radiated from her form, hoisting both Corona and the star bits into the air. The light drizzle served as prisms for all the glimmering fragments of the attack. It was very lovely, as all the fragments of the stars swayed in the wave of energy. Latias flew into the air, catching Corona before she could hurt herself. The pair landed, and Jessa took a bow. She recalled both Marisoth and Corona before walking backstage.

Obsidian strutted onto the stage as the last contestant finished their appeal and she gave a big grin to the audience. "That was our last coordinator ladies and gentlemen! We've seen some great things tonight, but now it is up to the judges to pick the eight going onto the battle stage!" She said, going over to the judges table and talking to them. The crowd erupted into whispers as to who they thought were advancing and the coordinators waited achingly for the results. Soon enough, Obsidian danced back to the center stage and gave a wide grin, raising her hand to the screen. "And the judges have picked these eight coordinators to move on to the battle stage!" "Congratulations to you all! We're looking forward to your excellent battles!" Said Obsidian as she explained how the battle rounds worked. Celeste stared at the pictures, disappointed, and hugged Vulpina close, tears falling onto her fur. The little fox cooed and tried her best to comfort her crying trainer as Reso, Pendra, Nuna and Ming-Ming hugged her close. Beside her, Celeste's egg pulsed with heat as if it too wished to comfort the poor girl. "I tried you guys, but I failed you. I`m so sorry." She said through hiccups, crying harder into her pokemon. The pokemon said nothing as they continued hug her, and even Ming-ming was speechless. Meanwhile, the battles were underway and one by one, the coordinators eliminated each other until only two stood. Obsidian gave an approving nod as she faced the crowd once more. "Five minutes on the clock, begin!" She said, jumping out of the way so the trainers could call their pokemon and start.

Vero beamed as he saw his picture up on the big screen. Hah, score! Even Whirr wouldn't complain as he was squished in a hug, the man twirling around as his ego was boosted by a mile. And then in no time, he was out on the stage, hair wet from the continuous drizzle, eyes bright as he watched the battles and worked hard to get to the final two. As Obsidian declared their battle a go, he smirked, flicking a string of hair out of his face.
"You've done well, my friend, but this is my babies' time to shine! You'll be crying by the time we're done with you!" he said to Aidan, patting Snivy and Nidoran on the head. Yes, he was using these two again, and even though it might have hurt his appeal, they were all he had. And he wasn't ashamed at all! Whirr, basking in the confident speech of his trainer, puffed out his chest and snorted at the opposing pokemon. Seeing that his duo were ready, Vero pointed and started things off.
"Dodge anything they throw your way, dears!" Gypsy: 24/24 Whirr: 25/25

There were no longer any jitters taking hold of Aidan. Battle after battle had past, and now here he was, admiring his picture on the big screen, one battle away from his first ribbon. Win or lose, he was here to do his best.
He chuckled as he and his opponent took to the stage. The confidence radiating from Vero was almost contagious. "Ha! You've put on quite a show yourself, but you better not count us out just yet!" smirked Aidan, one hand gesturing to his exuberant pokemon. Meri squeaked eagerly, in agreement with her trainer. Freya chattered about, suprised with the fact she had proved to be helpful for all the previous battles, but satisfied with the fact she could help Aidan win this last battle. Aidan himself had been pleased with his sister's pokemon's performance. As he gave Vero's pokemon one last once over, he noted that the seemed to both have a type advantage.
"Well then," he cheered. "Let the best Coordinator win!"
"Up and at 'em with a full charge!"
Meri leaped atop her companions head as Freya took off full charge towards the Nidoran. She jumped off only when contact was imminent, somersaulting through the air.
[RESULT: 9] +1 Type Advantage
Meri continued to spin into a tackle attack, her target Gypsy.

"And the best coordinator shall! With our grand focus-- nooo, MY SHMOOPSIE-POOS!" Vero's rant was torn in two as he watched his pokemon literally get bulldozed over, Whirr snarling and snapping at the Trapinch as she recoiled from the attack. Gypsy had tears in her eyes from the force of the attack, rubbing her side lightly. This was terrible! Hands clutching his heart, it took Vero everything he had to not enter the arena and go assist his pokemon. Instead he shot a hateful glare towards Aidan, his voice softening as he spoke to his team.
"Now now, Whirr. No snapping back. Show your emotion through your attacks, you too Gypsy! Now, combine your abilities and show them just what they gave you."
Nodding, both were more than eager to cooperate, turning toward each other in preparation. Whirr stood up on his back legs, front paws grasping the Snivy's before they both suddenly began turning in circles, going so fast that their bodies were a bit of a blur. Out of nowhere a string of colored leaves and purple needles shot out from the short funnel, the duo stopping for a moment to aim their special attacks, Gypsy firing a Magical Leaf at Freya, Whirr pointing his Poison Sting towards Meri.
[RESULT: 9] Super-effective, +1 [RESULT: 9] Gypsy: 15/24 Whirr: 15/25 Meri: 13/22 Freya: 15/25
