Jack dragged Edric out of the Pokemon Center behind her eager to start on their way. "Come on old man this is going to be fun!" She smiled at him fondly, "So hurry up."
Scarlet Crimson and Blush hurried behind them just as excited as their trainer, though each a little puzzled as to why she was nearly running.

The corners of Edric's mouth twitched as he tried to take Jack's comment in stride. "Ex-Excuse me? Really Jack? I know your like, thirteen or something, but I'm not an old man!"
There was a scoff and a snigger from Edric's arms. Adir apparently disagreed. Edric huffed in retaliation. "I dunno what your problem is. You've been nothing but nasty." The Larvitar scowled and let out a grunt, undeterred. He really didn't give a care to what his 'master' thought.
Meema lumbered along behind the two breeders, chuckling to herself as Jack pulled Edric quickly along, the man constantly fumbling his steps and tripping over himself. Shrooms sat lazily in the Kangaskhan's arms Fleur while danced along her shoulders.
Trying to regain his footing as Jack dragged him along, Edric protested yet again. "Wait, wait! We don't know the way."

Jack stopped causing Edric to crash into her back. "I'm fifteen." She corrected flipping her hair over her shoulder out of the way. " 'sides anyone over twenty-five is an 'old man'. At least to beginning trainers like us."
She spun around to look at the sites. She'd never been in a city this big before. After a few minutes she found a major flaw with cities. The skyscrapers blocked the sun and reflected it's light in their windows. It was near impossible to tell where the sun was. How was she suppose to know what direction anything was in? She couldn't fine North or South without the sun. This made her extremely nervous. And what about time? If you couldn't see where the sun was how did a person know how much daylight they had left?
"Yeah maybe we should figure out a game plan rather then running around blindly." Jack bit her lip nervously. Things were so different from home. "I don't want to be lost when I get's dark in this place. If it was the Abyss I wouldn't mind but not here."

Ignoring the breeders arguing below, Pidgeot kept a steady flight and kept her eyes forward. Suddenly, she saw what she was looking for and darted forward, leaving the bewildered trainers below her in shock. As fast as she had left, Pidgeot returned and threw something at Edric and Jack. The large object crashed into the two and squawked as it struggled to sit up. Standing before them, the pokemon shook it's head rapidly and glared up at the Pidgeot that threw it. She gave a chuckle as she swooped down and retrieved her pokeball, flying away.
The Fearow adjusted the red bow tied around his neck before gesturing towards the two to follow it, waddling awkwardly away.

Edric fell backwards as Jack stopped suddenly, gasping when he hit the ground. Adir shouted and scrambled out of his hands, growing pissed. The little pokemon hissed and stomped away, no longer wanting to be held by such an incompetent fool. Although she had her hands a bit full, Meema happily scooped Adir up as well.
"No they aren't!" Edric retaliated, still hung up on the whole age ordeal as he stood up, brushing himself off. "And I'm twenty-two! Why don't you- HOLY-!" Edric's surprised cry was cut off as he fell to the ground again, the Fearow skyrocketing down between himself and Jack. Shocked, he jerked his head upwards, watching as Wendy's Pidgeot soared away, chuckling to herself.
"Great. Great. THANKS." He shouted the last word after the pokemon, a bit sore but thankful nonetheless. Sighing as he stood up and brushed himself off again, Edric glanced over his shoulder, waving to Meema. "Alright, this way I guess." The Kangaskhan rumbled in acknowledgement as Fleur daintily jumped from her shoulders, scurrying over to Edric. He let the Chimchar climb up to his own shoulders, smiling faintly when she found a happy position.
"Welp. Let's follow our guide Jack." And without another word Edric began to stride off after the waddling Fearow.

After jumping in surprise at the Fearow being basically thrown at them Jack blinked, "Well that works." Blush cried out in fear and ran to hide behind Jack legs with her leaves held tight over her eyes.
Jack knelt to consul the grass pokemon, so she didn't even notice the Fearow walking away until Edric called out. She scooped up Blush and ran after, "Coming!"
She paused for only a second to wave at the Pidgeot and shout loudly, "THANK YOU!!" before catching up with her older traveling companion.

Soon the three had arrived at a large building, the largest in Gustella, and Fearow waddled up to it. He jumped up and clamped onto the door handle with his talons, opening the door and letting Jack and Edric inside. With a loud call, the Fearow flew up to a perch and watched the trainers as they looked at all of the bird pokemon inside of the many large cages. Braviary, Pidgey, Doduo and many other pokemon wandered about in their cages, paying no mind to the newcomers. A few sparks from the right brought their attention to a giant yellow bird who stared at them intently.
"Just a second, Screecher!" Said a voice from the far end of the building as the door at the back of the building opened. A man quickly trotted over to the group, holding a baby starly in his hands as he approached the cage holding the Zapdos.
"Yer ready to go now?" He asked it. The Zapdos nodded and stretched its wings, unleashing a few more sparks, making the man smile.
"Alright alright, hang on now. And quit it with yer sparks pal, this here starly was just born a few hours ago, you migh' kill'em. Here, hold this fer me while I open the cage." Said the man as he thrusted the baby bird in Edric's hands, returning to the cage and working on the locks while the red-bowed Fearow fluttered down, helping with some locks at the top. Soon, all of the latches were undone and the man opened the door, stepping back while Fearow pushed a button, opening a large hatch in the ceiling.
"Alrigh', yer free to go now buddy. Just be careful now, Krister and Marty might not be there ter help ya next time ya crash." He said as the Zapdos nodded in acknowledgement and opened it's wings, flaping twice before launching through the open ceiling. Shaking his head, the man chuckled as he shut the now-empty cage while his Fearow closed the hatch. The man turned to Edric and Jack as he retrieved his baby Starly and held it close.
"Thank ya stranger. So, I assume that since Screecher here brought ya, yer lookin ter take the Open Skies Test? Well, yer at the right place. My name is Trevor, head of this here center. And befer yer ask, that Zapdos is a friend of mine, and he's wild. He's very clumsy though, and got hurt on an ice mountain near Blizzara. My friend Krister, the Head of the center out in Blizzara, brought`em here to recover. So, ya think y`all are ready fer my test?" He asked, grinning from ear to ear at them.

Flustered, Edric quickly tried to get a hold of the baby pokemon, not wanting to drop the poor thing. Almost as quickly as he got a grip of the Starly, the man who had thrusted it into Edric's arms took it back, confusing Edric further. He tried to take in what Trevor was saying, but everything seemed to be moving at a very fast pace and before Edric knew it Jack was clamming up again and urging him forward and he was supposed to be taking the "Open Sky Test."
"Um." How impressive. Edric's speech was apparently hindered at the moment, his brain having not yet caught up with his body. "Yeah, well the Zapdos was magnificent nonetheless." Stupid. The man had already moved on based the legendary bird. "Oh, uh, yeah sure." There, now Edric was on the right track. "I'm ready for this test. Bring it on?" Edric finished with more of a curious question than a confident statement, but he assumed himself ready regardless.

Jack pulled Edric down to her level. "What do you think?" she whispered. "Based on looks alone the one on the right and the third in on the right don't belong. But I can't tell which is real and which is fake."
she jerked her head to indicate the two. But didn't move any closer. "I've only ever see a Shroomish egg. Why don't you go feel them? Maybe you'll get something I don't."

Edric inhaled a bit sharply at Jack's request, but decided to casually move forward anyways. He didn't think he could make a decision without really looking at the eggs regardless. Yet, he did not know how helpful he would be in this sort of situation. Edric wasn't really the nurturing type, he was more cold and blunt, thanks to the parenting methods of his own mother and father, but the fading wisps of long-submerged memory began to resurface, and Edric recalled someone telling him he had "the right sort of feel" for these types of things.
Edric scoffed, surprising himself. Focus! He sure had been out of it lately. Gingerly outstretching a hand towards the egg farthest on the left, Edric almost immediately retracted it prior to even touching the radiating egg. It was burning with such a surprising passion. "Ho-oh...?!" Edric eyed Trevor in a state of shock, but continued moving on down the line, gently picking up each egg, feeling a comforting sort of warmth from most of them. The markings of three seemed to be recognizable markings of flying types, although Edric admitted to himself he had thought the second from the left was a Sneasel egg at first.
"I think you're right Jack," Edric addressed his companion, but did not turn back to look at her. He still held the last egg in his hand, the one that was farthest to the right, faintly stroking it with the tips of his fingers. It definitely felt alive, but different from the others. It was more... striking and powerful. The flying type eggs had been warm, but in a free, airy sort of way. "This one is the wrong type," he spoke up, now addressing Trevor. "And that one," Edric pointed to the blue, green, and rust colored egg that had felt lifeless to the touch, "is the fake."

Trevor nodded approvingly at the two as he grabbed the tri-colored egg in one hand, throwing it into one of the cages as the bird pokemon rushed to it and proceeded to toss it around. "That there's a toy egg. They like to bat it around." He said as his dragonite walked up from behind, putting down two cases and placing two eggs inside. "Tha' Ho-oh egg was a gift from THE Ho-oh of legend. Very appreciative pokemon, had a broken wing that I tended to. And the egg on the far right, it came from a friend of mine, I`m just lookin after it fer her. Now, here ye are. Two eggs saying ya passed my test." He said, smiling at them as he pushed their cases forward. Jack took a hold of the egg and held it up gently. It had been so long since she had last held an egg in her hands and felt the gentle warmth radiating from it.
Scarlet jumped up onto her shoulder to get a better look at the strange object. Blush not having her jumping abilities settled for jumping up on Crimson's head to get a look as well.
"This is our new teammate guys. Be careful with it." Jack told her Pokemon softly her voice still holding a bit of aw.
"Gooo Zan," It's round and can't even talk so what. Crimson sighed and turned away not really interested
"Zoru rua" there is a smudge on it. Scarlet sniffed at the egg memorizing it's scent.
"Oddish!" An egg? Don't drop it! Blush stretched out her leaves ready to catch it should it slip out of Jack's hands.
