"And make sure you eat that!"
Twila giggled, her cousin's concern always amusing. She took the sandwich gratefully before leaning over to the driver's seat of the man's car to give him a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks again for helping me out Hiro."
The driver, Hiro as he was just called, smirked and chuckled a bit. Then he gave his cousin an affectionate rub on the head. "You know I've always got your back." He leaned over her, opening the passenger side door. "Now get out!" He began to shove the younger girl as she giggled again, and only stopped when he was sure Twila was almost about to fall out of her seat.
"Okay, okay I get it!" The brunette beamed before slamming the door shut. Hiro rolled down the window and gave his cousin a wink. "Say hi to your parents for me," he told her, starting up his car.
"And say hi to yours for me!" called Twila as the car began to roll away out of sight. When the automobile had vanished Twila let out a sigh, but after a moment's pause she spun on her heels and marched right on up to the grand door of the lab she was standing in front of. But her confidence melted as she raised her hand to knock. Tapping the door lightly, she found the door was slightly open, and Twila gave it a gentle push.
"Anyone home?"

Aw, now wasn't that endearing? A pair of red eyes followed the brown haired girl as she fussed about with the male in the driver's seat, owner of said eyes tilting her head. Couldn't she just come inside already and get this over with? To her surprise, the girl hauled herself from the vehicle and slammed the door, approaching the lab with confidence moments later. Somewhat surprised at the high level of such emotion, Ranny lifted her head and stepped back, focus turning towards the door as she waited for the new trainer to come in. She waited. And waited. And waited. Gah, what was wrong now?
The Suicune pushed her nose into the crack of the door, flicking her chin to the left and swinging it wide open so she could get a good look at Twila. What happened to that confidence, eh? Sudden meekness wasn't allowed here, or at least, not right now it wasn't. Rolling her eyes, Ranny used one of her streamers to motion towards a sleeping Professor Conifer, the woman passed out at her desk. She had worked herself to exhaustion, and Ranny was taking it upon herself to do her job for her. And then in a matter of moments, the Suicune had her face dangerously close to her new target, her random study a seemingly intense one.
This girl didn't really look like a breeder. Definitely not a coordinator. And the trainer title seemed to fit well. Nodding to herself, Ranny gave a soft growl and nudged Twila forward, padding up towards an elongated stand. She used her nose to roll six pokeballs forward and press the button on each one, instantly revealing the girl's starter choices. Once that was done, the legendary dog sat and lifted a paw, wiggling one of the three digits as if to say that Twila would be allowed to only choose one, an intense stare following that. A glance toward the Mystery Balls signified that they too were good options.
"Suicune." Choose.

The presence of the majestic beast took Twila by surprise. She stepped blindly backwards in response, only to be nudged forward by the legendary. At the Suicune's guidance Twila took note of the sleeping professor, and took due care to be quiet as possible, knowing the older woman probably deserved every moment of sleep she could find.
The Suicune clearly knew what is was doing, and Twila watched in keen interest as she went around and set everything up, guiding Twila through the starter process without having yet uttered one.
A happy squeak escaped Twila's lips at the sight of her potential starter pokemon, and she quickly pursed her lips together. She wanted to come off as mature in front of the Suicune. The girl gazed slowly at her choices, biting her lip in thought as she studied each one. No Dragon types, but that was to be expected. No Dark or Ghosts either, but there was something adorable about the Totodile.
Ngh! What to do?! Indecision was eating away at Twila's stomach, but she new she had to make a choice sometime soon. It was either a mystery ball or that Totodile. Sighing softly she scooted forward to pat the water-type on it's head. "Sorry," she smiled, a bit sadly.
She then went for the myster ball in the center of the pile, glancing at the Suicune after she did so. "So, uh, do I just let the pokemon out?"
The Suicune offered no resistance to said question so Twila took the silence as a 'yes.' Squeezing her eyes shut, she pressed the pokeball's release button, seeing the flash of red through her eyelids.

Ah, good. She didn't have to give a defining nod. Ranny tilted her head as she watched the ball soar through the air, finding it hardly surprising that the girl didn't choose one of the starters already there. She was impressed that Twila had at least considered the water type - the girl had a good head on her shoulders, yes she did. Maybe a Suicune would find her acceptable one day, but alas, it took more than just liking her type for one of her kind to accept a trainer. Once the red light dissipated, the blue beast nodded to herself and pointed to the box with the pokeball on it, suggesting that Twila take those items, a Pokedex of her choice, and a bag as well before her new pokemon caught her attention.
"Yam! Yama Yamask!" she squeaked, floating spookily over to Twila to try and confuse her.

Twila watched in glee as the Yamask floated around her, spinning clumsily as she tried to follow the pokemon's path. She was astounded she had managed to get a Ghost type, she wasn't normally too lucky.
Following the Suicune's instructions Twila reached for her new supplies, placing them carefully in the classic backpack she chose from the pile of assorted bags. She took the classic red pokedex and placed it in her pocket, then glanced again to the Yamask.
"I think I'll call you Senka, if that's alright with you!"
The Yamask seemed to enjoy the name, or rather she didn't seem to not enjoy it. She was still floating about Twila's head trying to appear as ominous as possible.
Twila turned to Ranny and smiled, glad for the Suicune's help. She gave the legendary a respectful bow of her head, and a squeaky 'thanks,' hoping the pokemon would understand the degree of her gratitude.
She offered Ranny one last wave as she headed for the door, Senka following behind her. There was something slightly scary about leaving the lab, knowing it was kind of the last form of security before her journey really started, but of course there was also something exhilarating. With giggle and a bit of a skip, Twila swung the lab's door wide open, ready for whatever was to come.
