He wasn't nearly as nervous this time a he was last time. He had a ribbon to remind himself that he could do this, and some new pokemon to try combinations with. And besides that, he had been practicing! Practicing was good. So he didn't hang back this time. Instead, he walked up to the Torrentia Nurse Joy and smiled at the woman. "Hello, Nurse Joy! My name is Azel Enyi, and I'd like to register for the contest. Here's my contest card," he added, handing it over for inspection.

Hanase entered the Contest hall very casually, holding Alviss the Turtwig in her arms. She wasn't nervious, because Hanase was never one to get nervous for these kind of things. Hanase walked up to nurse joy and tipped her tophat, smiling gently.
"Good afternoon Madam, I am here to sign up for the Pokemon contest today..My name is Hanase Waters." She said, handing her co-ordinator's card over to the kind nurse.

How she managed to get this far... Allie really didn't know. But that wasn't something she was about to question, especially since she was already halfway through the sign-up line for the Torrentia Contest. Last time was... well, she didn't really know how to describe it. She was terribly nervous and blamed herself for everything that went wrong, even though she probably couldn't have done much better. Honestly, she knew she did well for her first time and having to think up appeals right on the spot. There were many tough competitors out there that time, and she hadn't expected it.
Now would be a little different. She'd practiced more, and she'd traveled far to get here. There was more of an idea in her mind as to what to expect. Still, Allie fidgeted in place, looking down to her Totodile for comfort. Lax and calm, if not protective, as always. Smiling, she lost herself in the sight of people grooming their pokemon and feeding them poffins and pokeblocks. The coordinator was so lost in though that she forgot to move in the line, and once again, she found herself barely making the signups.
"Alenai is my name, Nurse Joy. Thanks!" she said as the woman gave her the accepting nod, moving onward to finish preparing.

Running quickly, Celeste ignored the glare of the stunky running behind her as she ran to the contest hall. With Pendra on her back and Vulpina in her arms, the coordinator was not sure she was going to make it as she burst through the doors. Grinning sheepishly, Celeste walked past the coordinators that stared at her and pulled out her contest pass.
"Celeste reporting for duty! I`m here for the contest." She told Nurse Joy. The pokemon doctor smiled and nodded, handing back the pass. With a grin, Celeste went to go sit until the coordinators were called.
Thirty minutes later, Obsidian called the coordinators to the backstage. She bounded out to the watery stage and raised her arms, introducing herself and the three judges.
"And now, without further ado, let's geeeeeeet busy!" She shouted, calling for the first contestant.

Hanase took light steps onto the contest stage. She was dressed in her normal circus leader attire, and this time, she was certainly ready for a good appeal. Though, she knew the same appeal wouldn’t work twice, she had something better in mind. She stood silent for a few moments, feeling her heart beat. She breathed deeply, remembering Conneko had promised to watch on TV from Gustella Town, and finally bowed, tipping her tophat to the crowd. She, much like her last contest, reached into her hat and pulled out two small Pokeballs in their ball capsules, which enlarged as she flipped her hat back on and pressed the buttons.
“Alviss, Melody, Rends-moi fière mes chéris!" as she threw the balls from her gloved hands, both opened in a flurry of flames, Alviss quickly dodged the ones closest to him in a zigzag formation, and finally landed on the ground, Melody falling gracefully beside him. Alviss and Melody both waited as Hanase came to stand between them, and she raised her hands.
"This, is our circus…Alviss, start us off with wide guard !" Alviss understood her through her accent and quickly started glowing, forming a brown, oval-like dome over the three. Hanase smiled at him before calling out to Melody.
"Melody, Round !" Melody let out an underlying screech, raising her hands as blue and red wing-shaped sound barriers came tumbling from her body, forming what looked like wings as they weakened, reaching the outer part of the dome., the whole form was like a giant butterfly, with the trainer and her Pokemon trapped inside. Finally, Hanase called out one final move to Melody.
"Hidden Power!" Melody let the last string of barriers that left her body act as the wings before glowing green, releasing several green balls of light that exploded the butterfly, wings, wide guard and all, leaving the girl and her Pokemon to bow as the glitter floated around them. Hanase called to her Pokemon and they followed her as she gave a final wave to the crowd and walked back into the waiting room for Co-ordinators.

The coordinator found herself in a similar spot, sitting casually on a bench backstage while twirling her hair as she looked up at the big screen. Ack. Such a good performance... all of them were rather good, actually. She wasn't sure what to think of everything this time around. Allie wasn't as nervous, so maybe that's why she felt that the appeals this time around weren't as good. But then again, most of these people were different from the ones she'd seen before. Everyone had different ideas, and it wouldn't be fair for her to assume that one was better than the other because of that. Or something. Shaking her head, Allie looked down to the pokeballs in her hands, looking over the seals only once before nodding. Yes.. this time she felt a little more sure about what she was doing. She had a new pokemon to help her out, after all. And that alone would make a world of difference!
Hearing her name being called snapped her out of her transe, her form rising and slowly making its way to the edge of the stage. Allie gulped. It's pretty much the same thing, she kept telling herself. Just more faces, more expectations, more... everything. Although her entrance was quiet, she walked out into the arena with a smile, the majority of her nervousness floating away. All of the attention was definitely nerve-wracking, but she had to think about her pokemon now. She didn't want to let them down! Once the cheers and clapping died down, she peered down at the pokeballs, wondering how well her interesting sense of imagination would play out here.
"Let's go!" she called, hoping that wasn't what she said in her first contest simply because she didn't want things to get stale. From the two purple capsules came two different things. The one on the left produced a waft of puffy pollen spores, and as a Torchic was revealed to the crowd, he chirped and instantly began firing small balls of flame at each individual puff, resulting in a fluffy 'pop'. At his side, a Pichu did nearly the exact same thing, fire replaced with electricity while pollen was replaced with bubbles. They sort of danced around each other until the effects had popped, suds and fluffy remnants floating to the ground. Levi jumped and giggled at the crowd, Micah tapping his claw and yawning. "Alright, let's get this over with so I can rest again" he mumbled, the Pichu nodding. Time to get this started!
"Levi, start charging up your Thundershock. Micah, wait for it to be good and strong before trying anything." Nodding, the Pichu put on a rather serious face as he tried to channel the steadily growing electric current into a shield around his body. It was hard for a little pokemon like him, especially considering his species. Even a little chuckle could send all of his stored power flying in odd directions. But thanks to Allie's help, he'd worked hard on staying focused, and so far the training was paying off. Levi turned and eventually nodded at the Torchic, who looked to Allie, who nodded as well.
"Okay. Send him off with a Night Slash, Micah!"
Ah, good. He was getting bored. The orange chick's claws began glowing a bright crimson, and in a matter of moments Levi had braced himself and the Torchic took a hard step forward, his entire body spinning around as his claws struck the Pichu. Instantly the little yellow pokemon was hurled towards one of the nearest walls, body a small blur of movement. The crowd gasped as he slowed no sign of slowing down, however, Allie remained calm. All was going well so far. Her pal did need some guidance first, though, so when he was just in the right spot, she told him what to do.
"Another Thundershock, quickly!"
Without hesitating the Pichu increased the voltage of sparks that was already around him, the sudden current touching the wall and surging him in another direction in the blink of an eye. Somehow - the girl wasn't really sure, Physics wasn't her forte - the pokemon's body was light enough to be propelled backwards against the electricity. However it worked, it worked, and Levi continued to bounce repeatedly off of walls, sparks flying with each bit of contact and loud 'pings' sounding each time he 'hit' a surface. Every now and then Micah would find the Pichu coming towards him and have to hit him with another Night Slash, twirling in the same manner as before to send Levi hurling. They could only last so long, though, and as she noticed Levi's speed decreasing, she decided to end it.
"Send him into the sky next time, Micah!" Chirping, the Torchic obliged and had to perform a backflip, timing the Night Slash just right so the still sparky Pichu could be sent skyward. Once high enough, Allie pointed her hand up and grinned.
"Now, Pokemon Pinball!"
Levi huffed and concentrated on one last release of energy, firing a Thundershock downward while Micah fired a Flame Burst upward, the two special attacks meeting and creating a firework-like explosion in mid-air, the effects similar to that in the old pinball games when you got a high score. Knowing her appeal was done, Allie ran out onto the stage and caught Levi as he was falling, snuggling the tired pokemon close as she bowed and waved to everyone. Like last time, she found herself rushing out and to the back, terrified of what had just happened. Ohh... she hoped she did well!

Well, as much as he had been worried about his positioning before, now that the initial nervousness of contests had worn off, Azel found that he was rather enjoying watching the other performances. With each one he learned a little bit more, and getting new ideas for his own future performances. Finally, though, it was his turn. The boy took a few deep breaths to calm the fluttering in his stomach before he twitched a smile onto his lips and bounded out onto the stage.
For a few seconds the contestant simply stood glancing at the stage, noticing the platform in the middle of the large pool that would serve as the stage for all of those without aquatic tendencies. Good, he had been counting on this environment, had trained specifically for this water bound contest. Alright then. Enough stalling!
Azel touched the red ribbons that wrapped about each of his wrists, tugging on the ends in such a way that each one began to unravel from his wrists. Both arms were tossed up, and as he did so, the ribbons sent the two pokeballs they had been harboring spinning into the air.
"Takeru! Kari! Let's get this ball rolling!"
And with those words, the balls opened in a shower of green and red confetti. The two pokemon that emerged immediately reached out to grasp hands, becoming one big ball of yellow, green, and red as the plusle and minun tumbled down as one. They hit the platform rolling, and continued the 'ball' act around the edge of the platform before suddenly jumping apart to land side by side, their tails touching and sparks jumping between them.
"Good. Now, let's start the party. Kari, encore!"
The minun immediately jumped away to the middle of the platform, making the 'blowing kisses' motion over and over again. Each time she did, a white ball would go flying from her paws out over the arena. Soon enough, there were white orbs of varying sizes hovering in the air all over the place. The effect was much like someone had strung strings of white Christmas lights into the air.
"Excellent! Takeru, Kari, use spark!"
Each pokemon began to glow their respective color, Takeru red, Kari green. They launched themselves into the air, leaving colored streaks like the tails of comets behind them as they moved. The two of them bounced through the encores, each connection propelling them forward with another spark, which was the property of the attack. As each one was touched, it would blink out for a few short seconds, only to be replaced with a colored ball.
In a few seconds, twinkling green and red Christmas lights had taken the place of what had once been pure white.
The plusle and minun made a full circle, landing side by side in the center of the platform as their glows faded, each doing their little cheer dance and rubbing tails together.
"Now, let's finish it! Both of you, use discharge!"
The pokemon immediately glowed blue, working as a team to release blue lightning into each of the lights. As the lightning connected to each one, the encore bubble exploded outward in a flash of white, and the electricity turned either turquoise or violet as it raced down towards the water. There, the two lightning colors combined and spread, so that it looked as if aqua and purple tinsel had been strewn out over the water's surface.
The tinsel quickly faded away after the last of the encore bubbles was burst, and the plusle and minun turned as one, jumping into Azel's arms happily.
He turned and bowed first to the judges, Takeru and Kari imitating the movement from where they were perched on his forearms, then did the same for the audience. Finally, his performance was over, and he bounded back to the waiting room with just as much energy as he emerged with. That was fun. Pokemon: Takeru [Plusle] Kari [Sh. Minun] Moves: Encore Spark Discharge

"A very impressive fireworks display from Alenai! Our next coordinator is Celeste! Come on out!" Obsidian called. Celeste gulped as her name was yelled, and she rushed out onto the stage, struggling to get her ball capsules ready. With a deep breath, she pulled out two pokeballs. With a grin oozing confidence, she tossed them high into the air.
"Ming-ming! Nuna! It's showtime!" She said as the pokeballs opened, pink, purple and light green streamers flowing out from them and forming a funnel. From the middle of the vortex, a stunky and treecko jumped out onto the stage. The stunky landed on all four paws while treecko flipped, landing on the tip of her tail. The crowd cheered the flashy entrance, and Celeste breathed a sigh of relief.
"Pst, we're not done yet. Hurry." Ming-ming the stunky whispered. Celeste nodded and straightened her posture.
"Alright Ming-ming, launch Nuna into the air with Iron Tail, Nuna, use Leaf Storm!" She commanded. Ming-ming's tail glowed as she threw her partner skyward. Nuna's eyes glowed as she summoned leaves to her side, spinning around and creating a hurricane with leaves. The treecko struggled from inside the attack as Ming-ming stared upwards, her tail still glowing.
"Do it Nuna! Combine your power with Dragonbreath!" Celeste yelled. The treecko nodded and pulled the Leaf Storm around her, compacting the glowing leaves around herself. In a few moments, Nuna stood on top of a leafy Rayquaza. With a grin, she jumped inside the head of the beast and glowed, unleashing a bluish purple blast at the Stunky. Ming-ming grinned as she jumped up, cutting through the blaze with iron tail.
It was an amazing display of raw power. The Leaf-Storm Rayquaza writhed and coiled as it shot dragonbreath after dragonbreath at Ming-ming, who dodged the attacks with ease with her speed and Iron Tail. The crowd went wild and Celeste grinned, clenching her fists.
"Alright girls, wrap it up!" She commanded. The Rayquaza threw its head back and charged towards Ming-ming, it's mouth ablaze. Ming-ming rushed towards Rayquaza and with one final attack, Iron Tail met Dragonbreath in a beautiful clash. Ming-ming's Iron Tail absorbed the power, glowing a silvery blue, and smashed into the leaf-storm, destroying the rayquaza and releasing her treecko partner. The Stunky landed, sticking her tail up high and letting Nuna land on top, unscathed. Without its master to power it, the leaf-storm collapsed from the multiple hits and exploded into a thousand green, blue and purple sparks. Celeste and her pokemon bowed to the roaring crowd, a triumphant smile adorned their faces. Recalling her pokemon, Celeste walked back to the coordinator waiting room, anxious about the results of her hard work.

Celeste sat in the waiting room, shaking nervously while her pokemon surrounded her, watching worriedly. The judges continued to debate the 8 coordinators moving on and Celeste was a nervous wreck. "I`m so scared." She told her pokemon. Vulpina cheeped as she crawled into Celeste's lap, snuggling her. "Oh relax will you? Nuna turned into a freaking RAYQUAZA! That I fought! How many people can say they watched a stunky take on a rayquaza and win? That ribbon is as good as ours." She said confidently. Celeste smiled at the stunky and petted her just as Obsidian came on the screen. "And we're back! The judges have made their decision and the following eight coordinators are moving on to the second stage!" She said as eight pictures appeared one by one, and Celeste watched with hopeful eyes. "Congratulations to these eight coordinators! Please move onto the stage to face your opponents!" Obsidian said. Celeste looked down with tears in her eyes, wrapping her arms around Vulpina and hugging her tightly. She looked at Ming-ming and Nuna sadly and shook her head at them. "Ming-ming, Nuna, I am so sorry." She told them. Nuna touched one of her green paws to her trainer while Ming-ming scoffed. "Not your fault those judges don't have good taste in appeals. Next time, we'll make them have one." She said. Celeste chuckled and pet the stunky as she looked up at the screen while the battles started. It did not take long for Azel and Hanase to obliterate their opponents, and soon enough they stood on the opposite sides of the stage, ready to give it their all. Obsidian danced out and greeted the trainers, staying on the sidelines and raising her arms. "And with five minutes on the clock, begin!"

Watching the rest of the appeals was a kind of wonderful torture. He enjoyed watching the acts that followed him just as much as he had enjoyed those before. One in particular, a girl who formed a rayquaza from leaves, was rather impressive, or at least he thought so. Yet, at the same time, he wanted all the appeals to be over so that he could see who had made it to the next round. There were only eight of these amazing coordinators who would get that privileged.
Finally, finally, the last show had been made, and the crowd flowed from the stands while the judges debated. This was even worse, because now there just wasn't anything to distract him. Ugh, what was taking those judges so long?!
Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!
Obsidian's voice broke him out of his self induced mantra of patience, making the boy jump nearly out of his skin, the roar of the crowd filtering in over the speakers. Finally! She announced that the decision had been reached, and Azel scooted forward until he was on the edge of his seat, peering intently at the screen. Not that he had long to wait. His was the very first image to come up! He'd moved from second place into first! The boy fought back a squeal, but the two cheering pokemon on his shoulders did no such thing. Takeru and Kari went into a bout of dancing that sent sparks flying in every direction.
It took a moment for him to settle them down, but after that, he had no time to waste. Now was the battle round, and anything could happen there. A few difficult times through his first battles, but that was okay. He pulled through. And somehow, unbelievably, he found himself once more in the final ring of the contest. Across from him was a girl who's dress made him grin, and he couldn't help but chuckle at the tophat. On anyone else it might have seemed out of place, but on here it worked.
Azel nodded a greeting to the girl, acknowledging her talent before reaching for the two pokeballs he would use this round."Sora, Izzy! Time to take the stage!" he called, tossing them into the air. In seconds the air was filled with black petals, and an oddly colored treeko stood aside a cyndaquil with blue flames.
"Alright guys. Let's do this." Izzy [Treeko] : 22/22 Sora [Cynda] : 24/24

Hanase was never a nervous person, it just…wasn’t her style. Alviss and Melody waited with her, taking turns looking at the screen as it seemed that the judges decisions would never come up. But when they finally did, Hanase closed her eyes and smiled. So they were good enough this time. Even if they didn’t win the full contest, it had been an honor to get this far to begin with.
Hanase had been battling her way through, and somehow, she had come center stage with another trainer. Hanase blinked as he nodded to her, and she smiled. She knew his talent was good too, and for once, she spared them the French, even if her accent was still present.
“Alviss, Prince, I leave this up to you!” she called, throwing two pokeballs into the air. The flashes of light erupted into a maelstrom of blue flames, and Prince and Alviss landed accordingly. The Dratini and the Turtwig were absolutely raring to go.
“Okay, Alviss, I would like you to use your Earth Power on the lovely looking Sora this time!” Hanase called. Alviss was quick to act, rocks forming around his glowing body, Alviss sent them straight at Cyndaquil, now all that was left, was to get a hit of some sort. [RESULT: 7]+1 Type advantage The rocks exploded on contact with Sora, creating a few tiny after effects “And now, Prince, use incinerate on Izzy!” Hanase commanded. Prince tilted his head before sending the incinerate out, twisting his body around so it came spiraling out in a tornado motion. [RESULT: 2]+1 Type advantage the tornado of flames hit, but this time, did not do as much damage as was hoped for.
Prince (Dratini):23/23 Alviss(Turtwig): 25/25
Izzy [Treeko] : 19/22 Sora [Cynda] : 16/24

Azel gritted his teeth as the girl began the battle. So she wanted to play with type advantages? Well, he could certainly play that game. Sora withstood the attack of the turtwig and shook herself afterwards. Her flames flickered for a moment, then flared back to life even brighter than before. She was not a cyndaquil who took lightly to being attacked, she had proven that much when he had captured her.
"Sora, you're not gonna take that are you? Retaliate with a flare blitz!"
[RESULT: 7] +1 Super Effective
And the cyndaquil sent the flame straight towards the turtwig, giving as good as she got.
While she did, Izzy shook off the last few embers of the incinerate attack. He danced from foot to foot, ready to go.
"Izzy, dragonbreath on the dratini!"
[RESULT: 4] +1 Super Effective
This attack connected as well, though it wasn't quite as powerful as the girl's had been. Prince (Dratini): 18/23 Alviss(Turtwig): 17/25 Izzy [Treeko] : 19/22 Sora [Cynda] : 16/24

Hanase shook her head. So that Treeko could use Dragon Breath? Impressive. She had to admit Azel’s Pokemon were very impressive, and that’s why she had to try her best, because hers could be just as good!
“Alviss, don’t let up on your Earth Power! Give Sora a fight!” Letting his body glow, he sent the rocks flying once again.
[RESULT: Miss] Though this time, the explosives were ehaded off completley, as it seemed Alviss could no longer keep the attack under control. What bad luck!
“And Prince, my darling, I want you to use your Wrap on Izzy this time!” she called out, indicating the Treeko. Prince slithered forwards rapidly. Well, at least this was less dangerous than trying to wrap the Cyndaquil!
[RESULT: Miss]
Unfortunetly, lady luck hated them this time around, and Hanase sighed.
Prince (Dratini): 18/23 Alviss(Turtwig): 17/25
Izzy [Treeko] : 19/22 Sora [Cynda] : 16/24
