"How does 'Knave' sound?" she finally decided as she and the as-yet-unchristened Pawniard made their way down the road. The Pokemon in the Dojo and her house had never been constantly confined to their Pokeballs, and Skyler didn't really like the concept anyway, no matter how comfortable it was or how much they didn't mind. Besides, she was going to get lonely exploring by herself.

"It's the best name I could come up with!"

[glow=red,2,300]"Paw-niii!" [/glow]he replied with what appeared to be a smile, looking up at her brightly.

Skyler nodded, glad she'd come up with a nickname he liked. The last thing she needed was a partner that hated his name. God, was she going to overthink everything like this? They walked for awhile in silence, Knave constantly wary of every motion and sound from the world around them, until about a half hour later Skyler settled on a rock in a clearing for a drink.

"So is this what being a trainer is all about? Wandering around until you find something interesting and battling gyms?" she asked, half to herself and half to Knave. Furrowing her brow, she offered him some water. "I guess I gotta start by catching and battling some other Pokemon too. Right, let's do this!"

With that, the two fist pumped in unison and made their way into the deeper grass.

[Timothy]

"'Ey girl. Seen a charmander running around here? Mine ran off and took it upon herself to hide." Timothy walked from a bush, scratching his head, a Swablu trailing behind him. "Not to bother you of course, but you seemed to be the only person around." Tim walked over to Skyler, a frown on his face. His Swablu perched on his shoulder and made a squeaking sound. "If not, of course, I'd be careful. She doesn't like women."

It wasn't too long before Skyler heard the rustling of grass behind her, but to her surprise it wasn't a wild Pokemon but another human being.

"Uh, no it's not a bother," she replied, looking around the area automatically as if the Charmander would suddenly appear. "i haven't seen a single thing yet, unfortunately."

Knave seemed to draw closer to her and raised his arms, blades at the ready. She may not have seen anything, but maybe he had.

"What about you, buddy?" she asked, blinking down at him. He shook his head no- almost, "not yet, anyway."

"Don't worry though, I'm sure it's right around here somewhere..."

[Timothy]

Timothy put his hands on his hips and sighed, looking at the person in front of him. "Thanks then, I guess. I-" Timothy want cut off by the sound of a growling pokemon hiding behind his leg. He looked behind him to see Sally clinging to his leg. "Okay there she is nevermind." He reached down and picked her up, watching her snap and snarl at Skyler. "Like I said, does not like women." He looked at Horrus, his Swablu, and turned. "If you want to come along, you can." He began walking forward.

The sudden appearance of the Charmander practically set Knave alight. He leapt about a foot in the air and flashed his blades, making a very angry buzzing noise.

"Oh for Arceus' sake, stop that," she scolded, scooping up the little guy and turning to the stranger. "I'm glad you found him, but if it's any consolation I don't think Knave is a big fan of you either."

Knave's buzzing had subsided, but she still felt him vibrating viciously in her arms. It would probably take a good amount of time for him to calm down. Besides, the sun was going down now and it was probably about time for them to get dinner started.

"Welp, I guess we're off then. I wouldn't want to upset your Charmander any more than he already is," she stated, heading off in another direction, but knowing full well she'd probably run into him again.

[Timothy]

"Psh, I was with a couple twins before I was with you, she'll get used to you." Tim grabbed her and began pulling her with him. "Come on, you need a little training anyways. Let's go." He chuckled, forcing someone into something they didn't want to do. Yeah, sounds about right. Sally merely hissed. Maybe this would actually be fun, Timothy thought to himself.
